With view of the river, this riverside hotel is a 5 minute walk from central Worcester, and a 2 minute walk from the Royal Worcester Porcelain Factory and the cathedral.
Score from 187 reviews Excellent
Opposite the cathedral, in the heart of beautiful Worcester, this charming traditional coaching inn dates back to the 13th century. It offers comfortable rooms with free Wi-Fi.
Score from 480 reviews Very good
On 20 acres of landscaped grounds, The Pear Tree Inn is just 10 minutes from Worcester. With free parking and a restaurant, the hotel is just 2 minutes from the M5 highway.
Score from 571 reviews Very good
Friendly atmosphere, good value for money, great food.
Double bed made up of two twins, uncomfortable when lying in the middle of the bed
This is a good location for the centre of Worcester, close to bars, restaurants and shops.
Accommodation seemed a little dated. Breakfast was over priced and although the female staff seemed happy and helpful, mist of the males were quite grumpy especially the night receptonist.
Location Clean room Good food although breakfast looked tired ref presentation.
Future car park fees Unfriendly reception at time of check in.not even a smile .we travelled two hours.
Location right in heart of city.
Car parking very difficult when functions taking place, especially weddings, could be very noisy if in wrong room.
Car park close to entrances. Good choice at breakfast. Easy to reach from motorway M5.
Nothing much not to like. I stayed only one night so it was excellent for my purpose.
Nice comfortable room good facilities....great location
No breakfast included.....i think breakfast should be included with a stay somewhere
It was a straightforward one nigh stay as part of a business trip. It was fine for my purposes.
Location was brilliant. Building has nice classic features. Nice gardens
Uncomfortable beds (two singles pushed together) slippy bath, tired decoration, wasn't informed at all of the £5 parking charge until checking out, receptionist uninterested
Great location for centre of worcester with free parking for guests. Room was ok.
Hotel is quite tired and in need of investment. Heating pipes ran through our room which made temperature control impossible.
En suite bathroom facilities.
The £10 charge for the dog, which is not mentioned anywhere in any of the websites. The "charge" for using a credit card. There was, in the bar particularly, a really odd mixture of traditional furniture and ultra modern - it doesn't work.
stayed two nights location very good for town centre staff helpful
A reasonably convenient location for my purposes
The furniture in my room (315) was very 'tired'
Location. Hotel concept of converted glove factory. Late check-in possible. English breakfast
I live abroad, but had grown up in Worcester and remembered Fownes' reputation as one of the best hotels in the city. No more. I expected a smart city centre hotel, but was disappointed by the generally tatty decor. Everything seemed to be chipped or stained. Bathroom appeared to have been cleaned but nevertheless smelt of mould. Two smallish thin white towels. (hotel bathroom experience should be about loads of big white fluffy towels!). Room carpet was sticky. The room 227 was designed with one very wide, large bed-head fixed across the wall, but the corresponding wide bed had been replaced by a smallish double bed and then an extra single bed against the wall. The beds themselves were quite ok, but resulting room impression was not classy. Staff seemed to be 100 % teenagers (maybe the norm for Uk hotels these days?). Polite and appeared to have been trained, but lacking in experience to do the obvious things that lie outside training. Eg at check-in we were directed to the right of reception desk to find our room despite the fact that we obviously had a lot of luggage and at the end of 2 long corridors, discovered 2 floors of stairs needed to be negotiated: meanwhile there is a lift situated to the left of reception which could have easily been indicated. Breakfast buffet was great for me: I like bacon, egg, sausage + trimmings. My wife, who would have liked something else, was disappointed. Only sliced bread available (no fruit or pastries or similar). Surprisingly enough, even marmalade was not available (surely a staple of Uk hotel breakfasts!?) flat, factual comment from teen staff: "no, we haven't got any, our next delivery comes this afternoon". By then we were far away and will not be coming back.
Location was great. So close to town.
Bedroom too warm even though no heating on. Not sure why but did make it uncomfortable. Bar was very bright and didn't make you feel like staying there for any length of time. A bit unwelcoming.
Hotel is well situated for my visit to Worcester and plenty of parking. Good service provide by all the Staff
An excellent sized room for one person with a pleasant outlook. Very easy access to the central part of Worcester and the cathedral.
I was given no information about available facilities on arrival, no mention of the availability of Breakfast. The room furniture was shabby and there was a drink spatter stain on the wall which I think should have been removed. The feel of the room, in spite of its excellent size was really shabby. This hotel is a lovely building which deserves some loving care. It is so well positioned and could be areal winner.
Lovely hotel, great fittings and fixtures, super comfy bed, and a great price.
Wi-fi was intermittent.
Terrible to find.
Paying for car park, should of been free as its within hotel
Comfortable beds - little table to sit at
Dusty cistern in loo
central location, a 5 to 10 minute walk into city centre and bars and restaurants, friendly staff
location of room, very creaky floors along corridor resulting in being woken up/disturbed throughout the night whenever anybody walked past, paying £5 a night for parking
The place is nice the idea to rebuild a factory in a hotel sounds good.
The bathroom is old fashioned. The carpet in the room is very old and dirty. I was afraid that there live animals in the carpet. I will not recommended this hotel the rate is 85 Pounds per night breakfast is additional for 8 pounds. Restaurant is not used by hotel guest which I can imagine. This was a very bad experience for me.
Good location. Clean.
Extra charges wanted for wifi despite advertised as 'free'. Quality of buffet breakfast did not match the cost.
