The landlord and landlady were charming and gave us so much information of surrounding countryside, so much so that we look forward to another visit to see the rest .
Good location ,friendly staff
Poor service at mealtimes ,no butter on 2nd morning at breakfast ,cobwebs in room .
The room/decor was very nice and was comfortable however (see dislikes)
The room was far too hot without any heating on but apparently it was just the room I stayed in
Great location, friendly staff, very quiet
Food quality did not match the prices. Several draft beers & lagers were off in the bar.
Staff were friendly. Lovely quiet location. Reasonably priced.
Accommodation was excellent and rooms very clean. Easy access from m40. Ladies on the B&B reception were welcombing and very helpful. We wanted a taxi to the Chiltern Valley Winery but due to the high cost they offered to take us for half the price of a taxi.
Service at dinner was the worst we've experienced. When we asked what cut of meet the steak was the reply we got was "It's beef about so big". Had to return the burger as it was rare in the middle. The people who work here are not English and I think the language barrier was an issue. They definatley need training in Hospitality and catering!!!
Room was very clean, had more than ample space. The staff were very pleasant and very helpful. The evening meal was rather tasty and the continental breakfast was ok, however cooked options did look rather nice. Would highly recommend this place & will use again
Only downside was a malfunctioning WiFi in the room. Staff were very apologetic, even offered to relocate me to another room nearer the bar so I could access their own WiFi, but ended up working in the bar ... appears that I visited on a bad WiFi day. Hopefully this will be sorted next time I stay!
Location is absolutely lovely.
Wifi was very poor and couldn't access in the bedroom
bar and beer menu was well priced with a good selection of dishes and beers available. Well equipt and clean rooms Good value for money Location ideal if you have your own car. very peaceful and pleassant location
Would like to have breakfast option before 7.00 am. e.g. continental breakfast from 6.30 am and cooked breakfast from 7.00 am would be ideal during weekdays.
Location was spot on !!.
I find some of the staff not so helpful, the room was very hot, could do with air-conditioning. When I book the hotel it did say breakfast was included, but when we arrived I was just ask for my credit card - but no mention of breakfast. If I was on four in a bed, I would have paid less - I think £70.00 plus is over pricing a product, that all it has going for it, is the location. wouldn't be recommending this hotel or staying there again. .
Quiet location.Pleasant room with comfortable bed.Good parking.Very helpful staff.Good breakfast.
We were getting married and the staff were very friendly and helpful
No wi fi I was told it was broken. And no milk for breakfast so we had to wait 20 mins so someone could go and get some.
Worst continental breakfast ever. Choice of cereal yoghurt and a crossaint
very pleasant and helpful staff. food was good value for money
The location and setting was ideal for my neices wedding
Having paid a lot of money for a bbq lunch it was very disapointing guests including the bride didn't get any food when we tried to sort it no-one would take responsibility
Very close to where I was going on the following day. Food good. Staff very helpful. The room was comfortable.
a mixed bag of staff - from rude to okay The worst meal I have experienced in a VERY VERY long time Asked for wifi code when we checked in - two fruitless hours later someone else explained the wifi was down
Room was roomy, clean and comfortable. Large shower nice white fluffy towels. Nice hotel in a beautiful part of the country.
No wifi, couldn't get it to sign in. Guests who come in at 3:30 am shouting a conversation between themselves although the hotel could do nothing about them. Inconsiderate a-holes
Cosy atmosphere and tidy room. Excellent food and service. Accommodated dogs!
Wi fi access poor. Our room, No.1 was by front door, and noises guests arriving early hours of morning disturbed our sleep!
Staff were really friendly and a great meal without leaving the location
Although they said there was wi fi nobody was able to get it which was really annoying
After attending a family funeral in Thame, it was good to relax in the peaceful country atmosphere and enjoy a good meal, with helpful, courteous staff serving us. We were grateful too for the use of a room to change in, after a long journey, prior to going to the funeral.
Nice, comfortable hotel close to venue we were at for four days. Nice atmosphere, good food, Sky TV. Rooms OK, showers powerful and hot. Would recommend this hotel
Room comfortable and clean. Reasonable food in bar. Location good and close to motorway so easy to get to.
Grumpy bar staff! No wi-fi! Continental breakfast was very limited.
Nice bar. Clean rooms with nice pillows and a good duvet. Air conditioner in the room (modern Dyson one).
Not enough shelf space offered in shower/toilet. Would have preferred a bathtub. Breakfast coffee wasn't very hot.
Very cosy country inn.
Could have done with a proper pot of tea at breakfast. Tea made with water out of a flask is no substitute.
