The Fox and Hound is fantastic, 2nd time i have taken my group of mates there, The staff bend over backwards to meet your needs... also hooked us up with a game of golf on arrival, Will be there again in 2015 no doubt
excellent food - dinner and breakfast could not be faulted. Friendly helpful staff, stored our 6 bikes overnight. very close to Granite Way. Really nice down to earth hotel/pub.
we like the querky old fashioned feel but the mattress in our room needs replacing, springs are coming through making for a disturbed night's sleep.
room had period character, bed was very large and very comfortable. Food was excellent. Staff were really friendly and helpful.
The cooked breakfast was excellent and staff very helpful and friendly
The room was basic and bedding not clean. We went out for dinner and returned at 11.30pm to find the front door locked and no staff to let us in. We spent the night with friends fortunately for us.
Service was very friendly and the food absolutely delicious.
Rooms were a bit tired but they were very clean and the beds very comfortable.
nothing we didn't like
rooms a bit dated and scruffy
Wonderful hosts could not fault their hospitality and food was excellent !! Worth the stay just for that x
Bit dated but that's part if the charm and a bit pricey more realistic price would be £85 - £120 a bit toppy!
The atmosphere from the minute we walked in on a filthy afternoon was welcoming. An exceptionally well run establishment. We agree with Samantha about the age of things, nothing was shabby or worn.
So very accommodating & friendly. We decided the decor of the Fox & Hounds was 80's retro!
Would of been nice for the shower to not of been 80's retro!
That I could take my dogs in the room at no extra charge
Bit too hot, had to have window open all night
The staff are all friendly and helpful. I frequently travel to the area and the Fox & Hounds is my preferred accommodation.
Building looking a bit run down
Friendly & uncomplicated
You can hear much noise from the Pub in the evening
The breakfast was good as the service was really friendly and there was a lot of choice, and it was mostly very good food. Nothing else particularly stood out as amazing but would be happy to stay here again.
No real problems.
The guys were very keen to help out with anything. Easy to approach and very on the ball.. the food was top notch with no complaints whatsoever.. value for money 10/10...will book it again next year
Bedrooms decor very dated. Poor shower
Great food, friendly hosts
Really comfy beds Friendly staff
Food was good, large portions
Room and decor was dated and in need of modernisation .
Great Location on the edge of Dartmoor, good beers, good food, friendly staff
The food was very good
The room had a nasty smell, possibly damp or animals. We opened the window, went and bought air freshner which improved things greatly, if it hadn't we would have been unable to stay in the room overnight.
Good homely hotel with friendly staff and a good breakfast.
The hotel is not very modern, but that did not bother us.
