Everything was first class! Very nice rooms with high quality touches throughout. Wonderful facility in beautiful countryside. Ours was a flying visit but it's perfect for special occasions.
Great location in green environment, spacious room, large pool with warm water - nice for kids to play in. Good service. Plenty of free parking, free WiFi.
Restaurant was full so had room service but not a big problem as easier to feed kids in the room.
Character of the manor house was beautiful.
Spa in a different building
I am sure for a leisure stay this would be a nice place. Good facilities etc. I was staying as helping son move and did not feel the staff were very helpful. I had to push to be shown to room.
The wine in mini bar had seal broken. Food from room service was cold on delivery.
Great to have an open fire in the bar- very cosy. The health spa was also great.
Food in the manor restaurant was great, though the portion sizes were a bit 'stylishly' small! The breakfast however was very generous!
The room was fab as were the reception staff. The MC and all waiting staff were spot on.
We asked for a very basic request for milk so we could have a cup of tea when we arrived. Not only had it not turned up despite a visit to reception an hour later, it never arrived. The staff at breakfast, though aiming to please, seemed to be dominated by a rather power hungry lady who thought she was more important than the guests to such an extent they did not appear able to serve tea & toast. Shame because it s a beautiful venue. Guests come first! A word with minor management perhaps.
Very helpful staff, very comfy place
Great value for money.
Bathroom whilst lovely was looking very tired and in need of updating.
Felt very relaxing from the moment we arrived there.
Myself and my partner visited Foxhills to celebrate our second anniversary. Staff were all lovely and helpful, we ate in bar nineteen and the food was great. We booked in at the spa never having had a massage before, despite feeling awkward initially staff put us at ease and we both loved it. The pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room were all clean. We stayed in a double executive room and it was beautiful, as were the hotel grounds. We loved that the room had a discreet kitchen area. We didn't want to leave and would definitely stay at Foxhills again!
Double executive room on the website was described as having a rainfall shower and an iPod docking station. When we arrived we found this wasn't the case, however the room was that nice we didn't really care.
Liked everything. The service was excellent and they could not have been more attentive. Great food and nice wine in front of the fire. Perfect!
Only issue was the two single beds made into one. Not the best for a young couple on their 1st anniversary ;-) but honestly, it's hard to even find fault with that. Great place and want to go back!
Location .type if rooms ..staff
Breakfast is weak
The location, the beauty of the building The surroundings The room
The swimming pool area is quite basic. The steam room etc
the executive room was fantastic and the scenery. The vintage or antique decor looked great. The breakfast staff were lovely and really helpful.
We arrived late and it was dark. we were given poor directions to our hotel room and we had to find it in the terrible cold weather. It would of been nice if we were escorted as we found it difficult to find the room. receptionist was cold and unapproachable.
beautiful building & gardens, lovely dining area, and tasty breakfast. Luxurious, warm and quiet room. Lovely attentive and polite staff. would recommend highly.
The location was beautiful and the spa was great
Showers in spa were cold. I understand that this may be a temporary issue but when you pay fair money for your stay you would expect it to be fixed quickly.
Arrived at night once booked I we were told our room was in an annexe we had to go out side to this annexe it was raining and the lighting outside was poor could not see were we were going and nearly fell over
Great room and excellent Spa. Wonderful food in the Manor restaurant.
There was a wedding reception on and so didn't really enjoy the members of the wedding walking backwards and forwards through the restaurant at dinner - it ruined the atmosphere and felt as if we were sitting in a corridor.
Facilities are in good order, with an excellent swimming pool. We could not book into the main restaurant due to a wedding but food at the clubhouse was very nice. The area has plenty of opportunities for walks while not being far from London.
Not the romantic breakaway we were hoping. This is a health / golf club with an hotel. It is packed with non-residents at the week-end, so do not think peaceful retreat. Staff is poorly trained (with some pleasant but rare exceptions) and seems unable to answer politely or with some empathy. Any airport Hilton will be more considerate of you.
I am extremely disappointed with my stay and the recommendation of Booking.com that it is a child friendly hotel. We had no dining options because children are not allowed in restaurant 19 and there was a function at the summerhouse (the only dining option). The check-in staff were both surly and ineffective - in my opinion in need of front of house (re)training. Very disappointed and when paying £360 for a 1 night stay utterly ridiculous not to expect good service and the simple request to eat at a hotel restaurant.
We stayed in the junior suite which was a nice big room that overlooked a pool.
- Poor customer relations: My husband and I paid nearly £400 for 2 nights in a junior suite. We stayed at Foxhills as I was due to have surgery at a nearby hospital. I told the management that I would only stay in the room for one night as I was having major surgery and would not have breakfast on either of the two days. I asked if they could offer a free evening meal or anything else in exchange but this was flatly denied and nothing was offered. With Foxhills being a luxury hotel, I expected more understanding and a better customer relations from a hotel of this standard! - Bathrooms can be improved: although the room itself was nice, the bathroom lacked any luxury or 'wow' factor. The water in the shower was luke warm and only improved slightly after we informed them of the problem. - Spa: the pool and spa was ok. The sauna was not working and some of the spa customer members were complaining that the sauna was not being fixed quickly and that there had been a problem previously which also took a long time to fix.The first shower and locker I use also did not work...! - Stingy: One minature bottle of shampoo and body wash in the suite even though it was booked as 'double' occupancy. Could not even find a pen or notepad in the room to write anything down. No number for housekeeping so have to ring hotel reception for everything. - Poor service: There was only one Eastern European porter / waiter that seemed to help with luggage and deliver food etc to the suites. This guy hardly said a word to me or made any eye contact while he helped with my luggage. He got on his golf buggy and followed me to my car. Then, he pointed to my suitcase and said 'this one' and put this on his buggy and was about to drive off. I shouted at him to stop and put the rest of the luggage on the buggy and asked if he could communicate with me properly! I have stayed in many luxury hotels and have received much better service and facilities than this.
Staff were excellent & very helpful.
Beds were uncomfortable. Very hard.
Location good. Evening meal in manor restaurant fantastic. Service excellent.
Upgraded to a suite after booking. Special request for view overlooking grounds. Give view of top of boiler room. Bed was 2 singles pushed together. For the price I paid £388 for Friday and Saturday night this was a disgrace.
I stayed here for a weekend with my friend and we had a lovely time. we went to the murder mystery which was a great night and found the staff to be friendly. The room was lovely and very comfortable.
It's probably a very good idea to take your car with you if you intend on doing some sightseeing! It is easy to get a taxi though and the hotel will phone one for you when required
