Large room, nice grounds and views, facilities, spa/gym area, esp outdoor hot tub and natural pool, breakfast and dining

Service at breakfast a little slow, walking to spa/gym area from rooms when raining not ideal!

Spa facilities and golf excellent. Great breakfast - lovely staff. Room service efficient. comfortable bed.

Do not take upgrade to a suite - definitely not worth the money. The junior suites look much much nicer with modern furnishings. The suites are just like old pontins chalets with tired old furnishings and lots of dark wood fittings.

Standard Double Room had good views it was spacious well furnished & had good bathroom with large bath & separate shower. The old building & the grounds were beautiful & well maintained. Enjoyed a game of tennis. Excellent Breakfast

The restaurant was beautiful, staff were well trained - the a la carte meal was disappointing, lacked substance.

What a great place to escape to. We live and work in London and decided on the off chance to get away for the night after a heavy week and what a relaxing break we had. The health spa is excellent-one of the best I have been to and the whole place has the ambience of a country escape when in fact its within spitting distance of the M25. The rooms were great-be sure to request one of the recently refurbished rooms for added luxury and would say it is well worth upgrading to executive. Such a lovely place to stay, would recommend to anyone.

Pleasant room. Excellent breakfast - continental buffet with cooked items served to order. Towels large and very good.

Unacceptable noise from kitchen fans - must affect most of the courtyard rooms until late. We were moved to a nice room further away but next to the pool boiler room with noise through wall- but this did switch off about 9pm.

The Foxhills manor home is beautiful and the bar, sitting rooms and breakfast rooms are really lovely. Bedrooms are in new wings and are large.

The grounds are lovely but dominated by the gold course so that walking around can be dangerous. If there for the spa, the pool, fitness gym or golf the facilities are great. But if wanting a historic hotel in a lovely setting you find that experience is a bit compromised by the resort around you. Restaurant staff can be inexperienced and not supported as required by managers. As a result service can be slow and haphazard. Rooms are large and beds are very nice. Decor is a bit of a muddle and struggles to fill larger rooms. No aircon is a problem on hot nights, but fans are provided and beds are made with sheets and blanket giving flexibility which is unusual these days.

Good if you want a country club. Lots of facilities, nice restaurant.

Not so great if you want a quiet country getaway. It's a big country club with lots of members, two golf courses and caters for weddings. Also the rooms, though very nicely furnished and decorated, are generally in the equivalent of terraced houses, not in the main house, and don't have air conditioning.

    Setting, location

We arrived at 5.40 after a long, hot day at a nearby park with hungry kids to be told there was nowhere for the kids to get any food! Clubhouse had a no kid policy even sitting outside, the summerhouse had closed early for a private function and apparently the only option was to get room service?! It was 30 degrees outside so the room was boiling as there was no ac and given the beautiful grounds it would have been nice to sit outside?? No other options were given?? We were told we could have waited until 8pm for the restaurant to open but that unfortunately that was fully booked as well??! The lack of flexibility in the situation was disappointing. Next time we shall stay at Pennyhill Park not far away and the service there is unbeatable, they really bend over backwards to accommodate you and are so kind and polite whilst doing it!

We stayed at foxhills after a friends hen do at ascot last weekend. The staff were great, stored out luggage from early check in and ordered a cab to the race course. Nicely relaxed on checkout and attempted to get us late checkout even though they were fully booked for a wedding that day. Both rooms were huge, clean, comfortable. Loads of choice for breakfast, not just your English breakfast and continental. Having access to the spa was a winner and made it such good value. Have been telling everyone I've seen since that they must go and I'm already checking my diary for a free weekend!

We were told on entry to the breakfast room that there was a problem in the kitchen and that the chef had walked out so there would be a very long delay for breakfast. Our waitress was seemed particularly stressed and panicked but all of the others were calm and fine, we ordered and received our breakfast 10 mins later so no problems at all!
