A 300 year-old coaching inn on the north Devon coast, a 10-minute drive to Ilfracombe and 15 minutes to Barnstaple, this hotel has a bar, restaurant and nicely decorated rooms. All rooms at the Foxhunters Inn have a private bathroom and guests can enjoy tea and coffee making facilities. The Foxhunters has a cozy bar and restaurant and a beer garden. Meals and snacks are served all day long and the Sunday carvery is very popular. There are play facilities for children to use during the summer, a large parking lot across from the hotel and a terrace at the front of the property. All main beaches and coastal towns are within 15 minutes from the hotel. Hotel Rooms: 12

Proprieters greeting at breakfast. He made an effort. Breakfast was substantial. However, fried bread was deep fried along with the hash brown. Tasted a bit "chippie" Very disappointed on arrival. Unfriendly bar person, no welcome greeting, barely acknowledged us. En suite room No 8 had disgusting toilet smells which resembled a public convenience. Room grubby, dust on the skirting boards and electric points. Hard uncomfortable mattress. Room smelt musty, windows dirty.. Staff smoking shed visible from our window with very full ashtray

The staff were very friendly and the size of the rooms were sufficient even with a new born baby. I managed to bring her pram in and there was still plenty of room. Breakfast was good for money with cereal, toast and a full english. The downside was the beds, there was not enough bedding and the pillows were very flat. The bed was extremely hard. I think if they updated the bedding this room would be good value for money.

I found that the owners were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble for them. The food was excellent. For the price they charge in my opion it is value for your money.

Speaking on behalf of a group of 4 friends. Easy to find. Pleasent staff. Accomodating of cyclists. Good selection of food. Manager very accommodating when we asked for a cheese board (which wasn't on the menu). Beds average. Breakfast filling. Overall, reasonable value for money.

Easy to find, plenty of tea and coffee simple and basic but good value compared with the extortionate prices being charged in the area for a place to rest your head.

We very much liked the ambience and warmth of the pub. It was extremely quiet which I was surprised about and I hope this was not unusual as I would be very disappointed if this lovely "stop off" were not availabe again next time we travel that way. Cosy room and excellent value!

The only thing nice was the breakfast They ask for the payment upfront, the food I ordered the peas were cold, and steak was over cooked, my wife had spaghetti bologanise this was bland and waterery, no parmasan cheese the wine glass smelt of wet dog second glass had lipstick on it.the room was too small for the 4 poster bed,the sink stunk when trying to cleen your teeth dirty in the main bar when I complained no senior member of the staff could be bothered to come and apologise.

Very good value for money. Breakfast was optional which is good. Location was good for us. The parking is on the other side of a busy road to the hotel. Was a little bit challenging for my mother who is not that quick on her feet due to a pending hip operation. Not really a major issue however just need to take care when crossing.
