location food service accommodation
Dinner not served on Sundays.
Mine hosts Kate and David were terrific but Molly was the star of the show
The place was wonderful and not too far away from main attractions. Our hosts were very helpful and we enjoyed our stay very much.
There are not enough shelves in the bathroom.
Great view of the Loch Amongst nature Helpful staff
the location next to the lake, the conservatory where breakfast and dinner is served is great with fantastic views, the staff are very friendly. the food is very bood
I think the furniture and the bathroom need updating, a little bit old fashioned and not so comfortable.
A beautiful guest house on beautiful Loch Ness. Kate and David were fantastic and very accommodating. Thank you
nice view and closed to the lake.
for Some reason changed my room to another house.
The views and the location of the house.
The hotel is run by a very friendly and helpful couple. It is quietly located with Loch Ness in walking distance. Dinner and breakfast are freshly prepared. Foyers has a cozy pub and nice walking areas.
Walking distance to the falls. Very good dinner.
Buy the end of our stay very little and we only had 3 nights.!
From the start our host complained about the hot weather and how she would have to work in the kitchen in it. Then she forgot our dinner booking so we had to look for another restaurant at the last minute as she couldn't possibly fit us in. This place is rather remote we were fortunate that we found somewhere local that would fit us in.
Kate was so lovely and kind with us since the very moment we arrived to the House. The restaurant serves very fresh food, try the scottish salmon it is DELICIOUS!
The room did not have any sight!
Extremely friendly staff who looked after us beautifully. We had a fantastic evening meal and a lovely room, in a fabulous location
Smoking was allowed on the balconies which put us off using ours
The locations is amazing. it takes a little finding, through the Great Glen and down country roads but well worth it. It is peaceful and in lovely surroundings.if you are expecting a psh country house hotel it is not, We weren't as we had done research, but it is a beautiful old house, and so friendly. We were made very welcome by the owner(Kate?). Our room was comfortable, light and airy, with a tartan throw over the end of the bed, coffee and biscuits available. We decided to stay in for dinner on both nights, and this was excellent - even from the vegetarian point of view. Served in the conservatory with lovely views to the loch. The staff/barman/Graham was a delight as was the owner, and her husband, though initially quite reserved, turned out to be very pleasant too.. We saw red squirrels and deer in the area. It is a really nice walk through a maze of little lanes to the loch side. Or you can walk to Foyers falls and the woods. It is a little eccentric, but all the better for it. Would definitely stay there again, and recommend to our friends.
good breakfast and very friendly owners
suffer from bad back and bed was a bit hard
Everything. Finally a place to get away from people and just relax with nature. The beautiful Loch Ness area was exactly what we were looking for. Lovely hiking areas. Very kind and welcoming owners Dave/Kate chatted with us about all sorts of stories. Would love to return one day and spend even more time with them. Gayle/Mark/Nick Drinhaus - Thank you for a GRAND experience.
I loved everything! I enjoyed the location next to Loch Ness. I enjoyed the owners and their many stories we shared. The rooms were clean and tidy. They had a small restaurant the owners themselves actually run. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner on site. I would return again if ever in the area. Thanks for the wonderful experience.
The home was lovely. Our room was not as decorated as much as the others, but it was okay. It could have been a tad bit more decorated. The owners were friendly. They helped with directions to tourist destinations which helped out a lot.
The road to get there. We don't mind a secluded place, but the single wide/two way road was mental. Also, the same breakfast three days in a row got to be a wee bit boring.
The position and the view from our bedroom were fine. Excellent coffee.
The hostess at times was curt and complained continually about how hard it all was such as getting supplies etc. room lacked basics such as tissues and body lotions. Meals were very ordiary, boiled fish and grumbles when we wanted porridge and a cooked breakfast. Only canned fruit. House lacked decoration. Not one painting or decoration in our room and the curtains did not block out the late summer sun.
The nice ,relaxed atmosphere and Dave & Kate were good hosts
The decor could of been more up to date
Feel like stay at home.staffs are friendly.
The way to go we waste time to find.
Small hotel run by a very friendly and helpful couple (and dog). Small residents bar was very pleasant to while away spare time. Good menu.
Really nice place to stay and relax.. small guesthouse with a nice view of Loch Ness. Double Room with good size and big bath. staff friendly and helpful: they send us an email with all the info we needed with 10 days in advance.
The location: no petrol station, pub.. only a small caffè.. is not really negative if you wanna do a relaxing holiday in the middle of nothing.
The owners, Kate and David, are lovely people. Kate radiates with hospitality while David's home cooked breakfast is sunshine on your plate. They are vey helpful, even in advance with info sent by mail re.the isolated location and its pros and cons. I would classify the hotel as a Bed&Breakfast rather, but considering the rate we paid, we had an excellent stay! The drive from the hotel down to Fort Augustus and back at dusk (nearest restaurant) takes a quite a "breathtaking" bit, (we encountered deer wildlife 3x in large numbers) but is all worth it.
There is a small hint of a smell from the owners' rescue dog, a lovely Great Dane, upon arrival in the hall. None of that in the room though, and actually once in the house for a minute it all fades. I'm a dog person myself, so I don't mind at all really. I just noticed and think it's quite inevitable. I do think the entrance to the house could be updated a bit, but then again, Kate's beaming smile makes up for all of that. We've spent nights in much grander hotels too, with unfriendly reception, and compared to that, Kate and David's hospitality is lovely.
