Couldn't really fault anything
Lovely food ( book table ) Very comfortable Friendly staff
Charming setting with nice view of Loch Ness and near a nice hiking trail. Owners are very professional and personable, as well. Stay for dinner because the food is great, and enjoy some fun conversation!
I like everything about our stay!
very warm welcome, helpful and friendly. The family room was great, there was good attention to detail. Very crisp, clean and nice sheets (good quality toilet paper) and wifi available in all rooms.
Wonderful view over Loch Ness, good food, great base for walks.
En-suite bathroom a bit cramped.
The location was very pretty - the building is well located in a pretty garden that does get real live deer in it :) The breakfast /dining room conservatory was a nice bright - on a sunny day - space. Nice view from the bedroom. The owners did kindly get some gluten free bread based on an advance request.
The rooms were described as elegant which was not accurate. The one we had was a pretty basic room with a red carpet and a not very comfortable bed. It also had a very small shower room when a bath would have been soooo nice. The rest of the hotel, the owners had renovated it when they acquired it - in their words several+ years ago (!). (I'm guessing mostly diy with a proper conservatory) They have a big dog who is v gentle and friendly but if you are not a fan of dogs and their associated features maybe you won't appreciate that. The main challenge with the 'hotel' is really it's a guest house - I.E. a largish family home converted and is very intimate with the owners who also seem to do everything making any consideration of feedback or requests rather 'personal'. Mostly there was a pleasant enough spirit but do not imagine 'unusual' requests are easily accommodated E.G. that the scrambled, fried or boiled eggs offered for breakfast could be teased into the form of an omelette (a moment where Fawlty Towers sprang to mind). In contrast, the owners did make a kind effort to get some gluten free bread following our advance request which was appreciated :). All in all it's a nice enough spot to break a journey but the price did not seem aligned with the experience -in our view - it's a classic case of expectations being mismatched with experience ('elegant rooms' - website pics, use of word hotel etc). Having said that there were at least 3 other people staying who were staying for several days and seemed happy enough (Swiss & German maybe) so perhaps it worked better for them.
location food service accommodation
Dinner not served on Sundays.
Mine hosts Kate and David were terrific but Molly was the star of the show
The place was wonderful and not too far away from main attractions. Our hosts were very helpful and we enjoyed our stay very much.
There are not enough shelves in the bathroom.
Great view of the Loch Amongst nature Helpful staff
Very nice quite area
the location next to the lake, the conservatory where breakfast and dinner is served is great with fantastic views, the staff are very friendly. the food is very bood
I think the furniture and the bathroom need updating, a little bit old fashioned and not so comfortable.
A beautiful guest house on beautiful Loch Ness. Kate and David were fantastic and very accommodating. Thank you
nice view and closed to the lake.
for Some reason changed my room to another house.
The views and the location of the house.
The hotel is run by a very friendly and helpful couple. It is quietly located with Loch Ness in walking distance. Dinner and breakfast are freshly prepared. Foyers has a cozy pub and nice walking areas.
Walking distance to the falls. Very good dinner.
Buy the end of our stay very little and we only had 3 nights.!
From the start our host complained about the hot weather and how she would have to work in the kitchen in it. Then she forgot our dinner booking so we had to look for another restaurant at the last minute as she couldn't possibly fit us in. This place is rather remote we were fortunate that we found somewhere local that would fit us in.
Kate was so lovely and kind with us since the very moment we arrived to the House. The restaurant serves very fresh food, try the scottish salmon it is DELICIOUS!
The room did not have any sight!
Extremely friendly staff who looked after us beautifully. We had a fantastic evening meal and a lovely room, in a fabulous location
Smoking was allowed on the balconies which put us off using ours
The locations is amazing. it takes a little finding, through the Great Glen and down country roads but well worth it. It is peaceful and in lovely surroundings.if you are expecting a psh country house hotel it is not, We weren't as we had done research, but it is a beautiful old house, and so friendly. We were made very welcome by the owner(Kate?). Our room was comfortable, light and airy, with a tartan throw over the end of the bed, coffee and biscuits available. We decided to stay in for dinner on both nights, and this was excellent - even from the vegetarian point of view. Served in the conservatory with lovely views to the loch. The staff/barman/Graham was a delight as was the owner, and her husband, though initially quite reserved, turned out to be very pleasant too.. We saw red squirrels and deer in the area. It is a really nice walk through a maze of little lanes to the loch side. Or you can walk to Foyers falls and the woods. It is a little eccentric, but all the better for it. Would definitely stay there again, and recommend to our friends.
good breakfast and very friendly owners
suffer from bad back and bed was a bit hard
Everything. Finally a place to get away from people and just relax with nature. The beautiful Loch Ness area was exactly what we were looking for. Lovely hiking areas. Very kind and welcoming owners Dave/Kate chatted with us about all sorts of stories. Would love to return one day and spend even more time with them. Gayle/Mark/Nick Drinhaus - Thank you for a GRAND experience.
I loved everything! I enjoyed the location next to Loch Ness. I enjoyed the owners and their many stories we shared. The rooms were clean and tidy. They had a small restaurant the owners themselves actually run. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner on site. I would return again if ever in the area. Thanks for the wonderful experience.
