I had a lovely stay with my friend which I ought her as a 40th b'day present .... Room brilliant, clean, well stocked .... Shower was amazing ... My friend received a lovely box of chocolates ... Nice touch and she was thrilled !!!!
Table for breakfast wasn't cleaned and no one explained what you were to do .... Which despite the fact it might be slightly obvious, all hotels usually do this ....I had to ask for plates .... Otherwise good was good !!!
The staff was very polite and helpful. The room was clean, wonderful, very practical, you can't find anything bad or wrong for this hotel. And the price was absolutely for the standards of this hotel . Worth spending money ! I would totally recommend that!
Staff very helpful and extremely pleasant without being 'false' Bed comfortable Loved the L'Occitaine bath treats! Good kitchen facilities although probably only really useful if you are staying for more than a day or two.
Bathroom was nice (although the bath tap was so posh & complicated I had to ask for help on how to operate it!!) apart from the wooden bath panel was really quite grotty (after leaks from the shower) - should have been replaced with something more practical - so it did spoil the overall luxurious feel of the room and bathroom. I had emailed the hotel a week before arrival to ask specifically for a room with a bath and was given a room with a shower - this was quickly changed but shouldn't have really had to go through the inconvenience of having to go back down to reception to explain. Felt that breakfast could have been included in the price - realise it was a more upmarket hotel, but felt it wasn't THAT luxurious, just a lot nicer than a basic travel hotel.
Location, decor, staff
Bed a little uncomfortable
Very beautiful hotel, good location, nice staff, room was very classic decorated, have microwave and kitchen facility.
The location was excellent, the staff very helpful, polite.
Room facilities, excellent location, cleanliness, excellent sleep.
Breakfast was very expensive and very limited in variety.
Great location, good sized room, comfortable bed and quiet.
Very comfortable bedding Great location Friendly staff Quiet
Only instant coffee in the room
I've always loved the suites. Great location and great place to stay for the night.
Recently I have found that the suites have gone downhill. My room was dusty, there were dead flies in the bath, the shower wall was unlean and the carpet had loads of black marks in it. Even the ceiling had black finger prints on it near the doorway. The kettle was dusty and I found that the staff were not as warm/friendly. The last time I came I loved the place, great staff and lovely room. However this time it was quite a let down.
Wonderful location. Excellent and knowledgeable staff were able to give us really good recommendations for places to eat.
I liked everything!!! I enjoyed every minute of my stay!!! Can not wait to visit again!!!
Good facility but overpriced
Reception staff very helpful
They were unable to close the window so I had to repack and move to another room. The head waiter in the restaurant was rude and didn't appear to know anything about good customer service. The price of the room was exhorbitant compared to the real value. Wouldn't recommend to my colleagues
Rooms smart and generally clean, kitchen faculty a bonus although we didn't use.
Some cobwebs on ceiling and carpet a little old.
Location fantastic, just off Royal Mile with great access to bars and restaurants
We had a 5 night stay - amenities / toiletries in room were never replaced. Also thought a good vacuum during the stay would be appropriate. My husband was ill and several nights we needed room service dining. On one occasion we waited so long for phone connection that reception intervened and ordered on our behalf. In fairness we were not charged for that meal. Overall however in house dining was a poor experience. However the location made up for it, if you could go out.
Location was very good for the Old Town, and an easy walk to the New Town. Reception staff were helpful.
The room looked as though it hadn't been cleaned for weeks - cobwebs on the ceiling, dust on table tops and kitchen(!) shelves. Shower drain was partially blocked with hair, and wasn't cleaned even after reporting it to staff. Complimentary toiletries weren't renewed, and flannels had to be asked for. Breakfast was at Broadsheet next door - again, tables not cleaned, food on the floor, self service was nearly empty (no butter or preserves), no salt and pepper on our table. Finally, there were 3 more senior staff walking through as we were leaving, and they barged past with no 'excuse me' or anything - well, we are their paying customers which they have now lost thanks to their rudeness.
The staff was terrific!
Location and size of suite. Good food in restaurant.
Found the shower messy as far as water spilling onto floor and not contained.
Comfortable Great location.
Lack of advertised 24/7 room service Some of the staff (not all) were surly and rude.
Me and my partner got upgraded to a observatory suite, complimentary
Wifi could have been better
Staff friendly and helpful, great location. Would highly recommend.
Hotel was really comfortable and staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel's location is superb for the Royal Mile and as we were going to the Festival and the Tattoo it couldn't have been better. Great visit
Bistro food was good but service was chaotic. The waitress was not really sure of the menu and could not explain what accompanied the meal - vegetables, salad etc. At breakfast the next morning again it was chaotic with poor service and items on the self service buffet run out. Realise they were short staffed but poor
Great Location Good Facilities Friendly service from Hotel employees with information as required
For the size of the Hotel needed another lift
