The room was nice and the Hotel for being so old was nice....Little bit tatty here and some nets curtains were torn which spoilt the appearance when you first arrived.
the staff were so unfriendly and we were there in a large group very happy to spend money, but they showed very little interest and the service was very slow indeed. It may of help if the some of the staff spoke more English!
Environment - green surroundings, garden, excellent food.
Staff. Gardens. Room. Spa facilities
Bar prices were ridiculously expensive. They messed up my rate and informed me that they should have provided breakfast for the price I paid.
The efforts and politeness in moving us to an acceptable room
Our first room was an olde r garret, not in any way equivalent to newer rooms in hotel, it being very cramped with poor facilities
Absolutely great location. Nice breakfasts and indeed small rooms, though it is not a problem if you are not staying in the hotel for along time.
We booked a suite (balmoral) which had a lovely very private outdoor patio. The room and bathroom was spacious with lovely decor. Meals were of a very high standard. Nothing to dislike about this gem of a hotel close to Heathrow Airport. Stayed 2 nights while waiting for our return flight to NZ. Staff were very helpful.
Nice hotel with friendly staff. Room comfortable with plenty of storage and hanging space.
The minibar had been removed from our room but we weren't told or warned. Prosecco by the glass was extortionate at £13 a glass. Buffet breakfast was poor. Food nice but staff overloaded and slow to replenish food so some things were not available. Pastry basket empty for entire time we were in breakfast. Scrambled eggs like rubber. Ordered fried eggs which took 15 mins to arrive.
The service provided by the receptionist was good.
The surliness of the staff, the expensive costs of drinks in the bar and no tea/coffee making facilities. There was even no shower grab rail so I had to hold the shower head! I had to ring for a taxi as the receptionist provided me with the card and told me to ring them! Poor service all round and I will stay in the Holiday Inn on my next visit.
Service rather lacking, basics not in the room. Bottle opener. Had to ask for tea making tray. Some staff were charmless. Hotel rather chintzy.
Comfort and location for the purpose of our visit
Massages were really good, they got the knots!
We we're upgraded to the bridal suite which was fantastic
The location and the spacious room which was very clean.
The staff were very good and friendly, although there weren't enough of them, mainly in the bar area.
When we arrived our booking wasn't registered - we booked via Booking.com. The receptionist was excellent and sorted out a room quickly. The outside eating area was great at the end of a busy day at the races. Room was very comfortable with a large bathroom.
Bar prices were a bit steep £8 for a glass of wine... Although we felt lucky to get a room after our booking was messed up the view from room 4 was the air conditioning unit right outside!
Staff were very helpful and friendly.Food was very good quality and beautifully presented,The whole hotel was clean and well maintained.Gardens were beautiful. The room was very comfortable.I will certainly stay again.
No tea or coffee making facilities in room.
The spa was amazing and the house keeping staff very helpful. The beds are very comfortable.
The reception staff were a touch rude and not very welcoming. This was the 4th time we have stayed here and have not had this before. Got ghe stay off to a bad start.
Location, quiet, friendly people
Unkempt garden, house plants. Everything needed some TLC. Food average. Terrific potential but needs some investment before it declines beyond repair.
Spa facilities good Pool beautiful and warm (inside and out!) Grounds very nice, would have been lovely to sit outside if the weather was nicer
Had to ask for tea and coffee for the room Breakfast very expensive so we didn't eat there
Hotel gardens were lovely. Room was clean and well maintained.
No tea or coffee making facilities in the room. The room we had was at the from of the house so we were unable to open the window as the road noise was constant.
Spa closes at 8PM
The spa was amazing, the room was spacious and clean, the restaurant was great !
The bed was comfortable. The pool was even warmer outside. The staff did resolve all issues when pushed and were always polite.
They had not read or reacted to written requests when booking (e.g.No soya milk for breakfast and Spa booking). No coffee & tea facility in the suite. Didn't initially feel responsible for Spa booking issues.
The pool was lovely but not all the features were working.
Parts of the spa facilities weren't working and it was over priced for what was working. Breakfast wasn't included in the price.
The spa and pool were good
The room didnt have a minibar although it said it had - bed too small - hot weather and they kept the heating on fullin both the public areas and bedrooms!!!! We had to keep our air conditioning on at night!
I loved the outdoor swimming pool, outdoor areas were amazing. Food good but pricey
Decor was very dated and tired in room and in restaurant,
