The lake was pretty.
Our room incredibly noisy with generator or air conditioning unit. Plates dirty with food stuck to them. TV didn't work. Bathroom mouldy. Some staff very in attentive. Was expensive for what we received.
Expected tv in room but did not not
The porter said it worked when ask to sort..... It did not
All Staff very welcoming view at Breakfast first call Food was very good value for money First Class
No Problem with our stay
The pool was closed Woken with late night revellers
The staff were very warm and helpful. Even offered a coach driver some tea and coffee! the rooms and grounds are clean and well mentioned. The food was delicious and food portions were even better!!
The location was lovely, and spent many hours wandering around the area and enjoying the views and locality.
It was a pity that we were not advised of the works being undertaken on the area to the front of the hotel which did spoil a little of the picturesque scenery, but has certainly boosted our intention of returning to enjoy the good works that were being done at that time, which I'm sure will be a great asset to the hotel
the dining room breakfast was excellent
the lighting in the room could be brighter
The uncomfortable bed, the tired bathroom, the broadband which didn't work and the notices everywhere telling what you could and couldn't do
We attended our niece's wedding reception and the dining area looked absolutely beautiful. The standard of food was excellent and the staff very attentive. We stayed in one of the Garden Suites and found it very comfortable with everything you would need. Breakfast was also of excellent quality. Would definitely stay there again :-)
location , decent service
bedside light not working room telephone not working
Quiet. Very clean. Good size room. Opening windows . Great view from Diningroom.
Dated bathroom. Very uncomfortable bed, tired mattress, in room no.39.
We ate dinner outside overlooking the pond, lovely evening. The room was large and comfortable.
Nothing really other than I hate my first night in any hotel and never sleep.
The view from the lake size of room and facilities in room good parking Peaceful Helpful staff
Cooked breakfast was not hot Bed was very uncomfortable (worst night sleep I've had in a long time!)
the position was lovely but I knew it from living in the area 30 years ago
cost of breakfast is ridiculous, and a little noisy during the night
Pond view from dining area, price was decent compared to other area hotels
They did not have my reservation from booking.com. Fortunately they still had rooms available. Rooms were tired and worn. Outlets did not work, shower did not spray right, counters chipped, etc. Breakfast was not very good and staff seemed overwhelmed by number of guests, which they should have expected based on reservations.
Location lovely, breakfast good.
Executive garden room ( upgrade) a bit like a mobile chalet! Room extremely hot from radiators.
The outside terrace, communal areas ie bar , reception. The location was picturesque. I would recommend hotel if bathrooms etc were all of a high standard.
The bathroom needed refurbished. It had a cheap broken plastic toilet seat and plug was stuck shut in sink causing sink to be unusable. This was fixed promptly but only by opening plug permanently. Double Bed broke during the night and we had to use the single bed. We did not have to pay for two glasses of wine which we had at the bar as a compensation. Small compensation. We paid for room before arrival via internet.
decor atmosphere room rude receptionist too expensive for what you got
The bed was extremely comfortable, the room was very clean and situated in a quiet area of the hotel as requested. Staff were helpful and courteous.
The buffet breakfast was plentiful if you got there earlier enough but not hot enough. I did not like being charged for two breakfasts we were unable to eat as we had to leave early, but I understand this is up to booking.com to refund us.
The reception welcome was excellent. We didn't have dinner in the hotel but breakfast was excellent. Good choices.
We were in room 32. Very nice, decor perhaps a little tired. Plenty of space - could do with a 2nd armchair. TV was tipping forward and didn't seem adjustable. Water in bathroom never ran hot.
Excellent location by the Big pond with numerous trails into the hills starting straight from the hotel door taking you to the Little pond and the local river and villages/hamlets. Very friendly and helpful staff who made our stay pleasurable(i.e. Dan from reception and Marius from housekeeping).
Perhaps more visual encouragement needed for us the guests to try to be more environmentally friendly( to reuse towels, to recycle various items,etc.). Also perhaps a walkie-talkie communication system between staff in the restaurant/bar and kitchen could be a good idea.
Big room, black out curtains, nice location
Uncomfortable bed and pillows. Definite roll into the middle mattress. Had to request croissants both mornings, first morning they were cold second morning they were still frozen. Half cooked eggs.
The location is, of course, superb. The quality of the evening meal was surprisingly good. Parking is good.
Reception staff lacked training - luckily I am very experienced in hotel stays! I knew what needed to be done but had to suggest to them that they would need to swipe a debit card for room charges and had to ask for directions to the room. Leisure club was closed but not warned of on booking. Staff nearly all foreign workers, mostly Eastern European, but not all were fluent or had received adequate training. The restaurant only had a limited set menu, no A La Carte, but our waiter did not know what that was. Food was good though. Bed was dreadful. Hardly slept at all and woke during night with dreadful back pain requiring pain killers to be taken. Sagged dreadfully and I could feel all the springs. Having spent Well over 2000 nights in hotels all over the World, this was, without doubt, the most uncomfortable bed I have ever tied to sleep in! Breakfast sausages were nice, the rest was a bit bland. Orange juice (squash?) was awful.
Ambience, good food.
