Very helpful staff who were great, especially over Christmas Eve/Christmas Day. Pleasant enquiries about my welfare. Lovely views outside of Frensham Pond and superb walking territory on Christmas Day

Pleasant clean hotel. Very noisy plumbing and lots of banging doors. I didn't like the £1.00 added to my bill for a donation to a local hospice. If I had been asked if I would like to add on a donation I would have done so and would have given more than the £1.00. I have asked several people how they would have felt about it and they all said that they would have felt under pressure to leave it added to the bill. I think that it would be better if the hotel placed a collection box on the reception so that guests are free to choose whether or not they make a donation. I'm sure that anyone reading this will think that I am a scrooge, however, I have donated approximately £400.00 to charity in the past 12 months,

Excellent hotel overall. Breakfast superb and room size generous. The late night corporate entertainment could have disturbed us - but we were pretty late to bed, and the hotel is spacious enough to avoid the revellers. In stark contrast to all these positive attributes, bar prices were absurdly inflated...5 drinks (admittedly including an indulgent single malt or two) left little change from £40. A lesson learned!

The location was incredible. It was lovely sitting in the dining room overlooking the pond and watching the wild life. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. The room had several things wrong with it. The shower leaked and needed sealing to the bath to prevent water going onto the floor. The table lamp was faulty and kept flashing and going off. The bed was not turned down after dinner. It would be nice to have glsses instead of plastic cups for water. Cups and saucers would be nicer than mugs. For the cost of the room I do not think it was up to standard.

Location Quality of the food. Stayed before and breakfast was poor so did not book breakfast this time. Had dinner in restaurant but quality of food poor. Beef tough. Not value for money. Stay here for location but would not use the restaurant. Pity.

Big room No mini bar in the hotel room, we checked in after midnight and were really thirsty! The breakfast was very expensive (considering that it sits in the trays and is not even cooked on the spot) so we decided to go and eat in Farnham.

Very clean, staff friendly. Nice and warm. I think the evening meal was a bit overpriced and we had to wait an awful long time for the main course. Wheb we arrived, although I had booked a double room weeks ago there was not one available. We were given a Garden Suite but it was quite a walk away from our travelling companions.

A lovely quiet hotel, around 5 miles from Farnham, Surrey. Set beside a large pond (lake) with birds galore, walking tracks or just sit out and watch the world go by, beautiful and peaceful.

Large rooms; very peaceful setting; the discount rate through Booking.com represented really excellent value, about same as a Travel Lodge. We extended our stay by an extra night and were given the same discounted rate

Nice setting. Close to the pond and sailing centre. Price was good for a group of 3 sharing a room and the spa facilities seemed attractive. The swimming pool was very small. Jacuzzi was in fact just a hot tub.... Food was pretty average.

We chose it for the lovely location - back to childhood haunts around the Big Pond, staying in the hotel was to be a treat and near where we wanted to be for walking, resting etc. Breakfasts, and service were good, a lovely window seat. The hotel was smart with out being ostentatious - efficient and pleasant, and despite weddings it was quiet which was what we wanted!. we were sorry that we had not come prepared to use the nice looking spa facilities.(our fault) we had come to rest, relax, unwind, and enjoy a bit of luxury, our one disappointment, and it was a big one, was in the 3 days we could not have a decent shower, no hot water....there had been problems on site, it was reported and in the end we were given a reduction on costs...the problem was not solved but it was handled nicely by reception staff.

The best western in York where I live is great. So I thought this would be same class. However it is dated not in a classy way, there are not enough staff we sat outside there we cups, glasses, and rements of food on tables, chairs the floor they were there at 6pm when we went for our meal at 8.15 they were still. The garden furniture is all in need of repair and we were sat on a bench that snapped and were throw to the floor I hurt my back, when a customer told one of the staff he said sorry I will move the broken bits later they were also still there at night. I told the girl at desk when leaving she just said oh dear did you tell someone, so if you ask would I stay there again not likely. We had just stayed the Mint hotel in Bristol it was great the staff the cleanthness it was modern I thought the western would be better old world charm it was not in the same league.

The location. It was convenient for my temporary place of work. Whilst the facilities, setting and environment were all good I felt I have have had better value for money elsewhere. It was more expensive than I would have expected
