“Excellent hotel overall. Breakfast superb and room size generous. The late night corporate entertainment could have disturbed us - but we were pretty late to bed, and the hotel is spacious enough to avoid the revellers.”

Staff very attentive and friendly. Good location for walks in the surrounding countryside (Surrey Hills) and observing wildlife. Plenty of nice towns and villages to explore. Bar prices a bit over the top for what I expect to pay. The food we had was excellent standard. At the time of visit, the leisure facilities were not fully functional. Would have made our visit more perfect. (Unfortunate for the hotel)

The location was nice, quiet and peaceful setting. We expected to take advantage of the advertised dining room overlooking the lake, but we placed in a back room due to an outside function. This we felt was not acceptable, especially as we had invited friends to join us for dinner. It was not a comfortable place to dine and the background music was terrible. As paying guests at the hotel, the guests at the private function were rude and expected us to move from the bar (which we did not). We disputed the discretionary 10% service charge as we felt the service did not warrant it, the waiting staff were OK, it was the situation of the back room and limited space that was at fault. A breakfast we felt pressured to leave when we had finished and this also left a bad impression. Overall, the executive room was no different from the standard room, apart from being on the ground floor in a separate block, there were no expected views.

The location was wonderful and although in the countryside it was easy to access the nearby towns. The staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly. The room was clean, decent size and all the facilities I needed. The food good. My main reason for choosing this hotel, over others in the area, was the gym and pool. However on my arrival I found that there was a very limited time of opening, making it impossible for me to use them. I returned to the hotel early on the Tuesday only to find it was closed completely......very dissapointed. Most days there was a carpet cleaner left in the corridor for hours on end and no cleaner. The fire doors were all wedged open. The pillows were rock hard and very uncomfortable. The public areas were very cold!!

Bar manager (from India?) was very polite and helpful. He was also there at breakfast and helpful. Disappointed that the upgrade accommodation was no more than an average bedroom with small double bed; uncomfortable pillows; controls on shower fell off; electrics failed in the morning; no access to internet in the bedroom. Noisy air conditioning. Receptionist (a South African) searched directions for St Mary's Church, Frensham (we were attending a funeral the following day) and gave us a reference and route map which were incorrect - thank goodness for our own SatNav. Poorly dressed female staff at breakfast. Breakfast stainless steel heated trays of food were dirty from many previous breakfasts.

Very helpful staff who were great, especially over Christmas Eve/Christmas Day. Pleasant enquiries about my welfare. Lovely views outside of Frensham Pond and superb walking territory on Christmas Day

Pleasant clean hotel. Very noisy plumbing and lots of banging doors. I didn't like the £1.00 added to my bill for a donation to a local hospice. If I had been asked if I would like to add on a donation I would have done so and would have given more than the £1.00. I have asked several people how they would have felt about it and they all said that they would have felt under pressure to leave it added to the bill. I think that it would be better if the hotel placed a collection box on the reception so that guests are free to choose whether or not they make a donation. I'm sure that anyone reading this will think that I am a scrooge, however, I have donated approximately £400.00 to charity in the past 12 months,

Excellent hotel overall. Breakfast superb and room size generous. The late night corporate entertainment could have disturbed us - but we were pretty late to bed, and the hotel is spacious enough to avoid the revellers. In stark contrast to all these positive attributes, bar prices were absurdly inflated...5 drinks (admittedly including an indulgent single malt or two) left little change from £40. A lesson learned!

Big room No mini bar in the hotel room, we checked in after midnight and were really thirsty! The breakfast was very expensive (considering that it sits in the trays and is not even cooked on the spot) so we decided to go and eat in Farnham.

A lovely quiet hotel, around 5 miles from Farnham, Surrey. Set beside a large pond (lake) with birds galore, walking tracks or just sit out and watch the world go by, beautiful and peaceful.

Large rooms; very peaceful setting; the discount rate through Booking.com represented really excellent value, about same as a Travel Lodge. We extended our stay by an extra night and were given the same discounted rate

“We were made to feel very welcome and the proprietor went out of his way to ensure that our stay was a pleasant one. Due to a visit to the Goodwood Festival of Speed, our party decided that they watned to leave quite early in the mnorning and so they would miss breakfast. But at short notice the hotel arranged for a packaged continental breakfast to be put in our rooms so we could have something before we left. No extra charge was made for this. All in all, a great stay.” Royston, Ledbury |
