The room was very nice and well equipped with tea & coffee making essentials together with hair dryer, iron & ironing board, shoe cleaning & bathroom toiletries. The restuarant dinner menu was superb and the food cooked to perfection. The restuarant staff were very attentive and extremely helpful. The breakfast menu sounded very good but did not come up to expectations or description when delivered to table.

A lovely country house, well maintained. We didn't use the facilities as we were visiting family and just needed a base. A plus was the bottle of water in the room. Too few hotels provide this. The breakfast, although plenty of choices, could have been warmer. One couple did actually return their cooked breakfast to the kitchen.

I loved the history and decor. It was cozy, comfortable, and had the best room service I've ever experienced. The TV in my room did not work (possibly the batteries were dead in the remote). I was only staying one night and was able to use my lap top so did not complain.

Our two day stay was pleasurable and comfortable. We ate in the restaurant on one occasion, the menu choice was limited but the food was good. Staff were pleasant and helpful, and the general atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable.

Doggie friendly! This was our primary reason for choosing the hotel but we were pleasantly surprised on all levels once we arrived. Unusually late check in. We do stay at a lot of hotels and check in "from" 2pm (ie could be any time) is unusual.

I thought the service was fine and the room suffered for having to have the sofabed up which my granddaughter thought was uncomfortable. I did not like that there was a service charge added to every bill. Service should be discretionary. They may have just as well stuck 12% onthe prices in the first place. I thought the restaurant was not an award winning place. Merely adequate.

Convenient for present purposes at the time. Restaurant menu too elaborate and expensive in evening. Bit musty in places Clear lack of facilities for children to detriment of unconnected adults.

It seemed a very efficiently run hotel, the staff were very pleasant. Continental breakfast also very good WC cistern handle was broken when we wished to use the WC. Therefore we had to use the public facilities in the common areas of the hotel which was inconvenient in the extreme. Later, we managed to flush the WC slowly using the shower head.

It was convenient to travel to from our home in London, and the setting was lovely, especially at this time of year with all of the autumal trees. The pool and sauna/steam area was very nicely laid out, with the pool being a very good size for swimming. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice and the waiting staff had excellent people skills, being both professional and cheerful. The steam room could have done to be warmer - although the sauna was of a really good temperature. It would be helpful to have more seating around the pool area as the weekend we went there were a number of other customers who had booked a "spa weekend" and were all plotted about reading their "Hello" magazines and doing very little else - but this is just a minor grumble!
