The location was perfect for restaurants & shopping.
Freedom no hassle
The room (stable) was fine - warm, clean and comfortable. The other incidental services (daily papers, honesty bar) were appreciated.
Great, intimate service.
Open bar to serve you self operated on trust very refreshing
Road a bit noisy
He building is stunning, the rooms spacious and cozy, and the facilities available mean you want for nothing! The host was incredibly helpful and friendly. He also cooks a mean breakfast! Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the city. It truly is an attraction in its own right, will certainly visit again.
We stayed in the stable block and very nice. First of all it was private, easy secure parking, and handy to get unloaded. As far as the train noise, it was NOT disruptive at all and I am not a heavy sleeper. The BB main house was close and the staff were very helpful, very welcoming. I also asked to tour a couple of rooms in the main house facility. I saw what are the smaller rooms and the rooms were larger than a Paris hotel and lovely with character. Surprised at the remarks they were so small. Either the older house or the stable block are perfect, just a personal choice. The location is great too and can imagine the garden is enjoyable in warmer weather. A special thank you for pleasant stay!
All was wonderful, no dislikes.
Comfy beds, well appointed rooms, character features and quality facilities in main house. The honesty bar was fun and this is a lovely historic property. Everyone was welcoming and friendly.
The stable rooms are right next to the railway line. What you get is a low rumble, which might bother some people. But we thought it ok on a Sunday as they didn't start until 7am. We did get some noise from the people next door though, from 6am. Perhaps I should have said something...?
Staff is very friendly, overall a very good experience.
Breakfast could be improved (Kentish breakfast was medium), bread was nothing special, there was no cheese. Otherwise, everything was great!!
Everything, House of Agnes is simply perfect. We had this beautiful room, Venezia, with the hot tub in the room, very romantic, a beautiful bed and direct access to the garden. Lights were perfect and we enjoy the room a lot. Breakfast is rich and very tasty and most of all, they are all incredibly kind.
Nothing, I want to come back here asap!
Location was fabulous. Breakfast and service was wonderful. Would stay here again. You could hear the train running behind the stable rooms but it wasn't bad at all.
The bed was a bit uncomfortable but overall the room was nice.
Great location close to Canterbury West station and a short walk from the shops and Cathedral. Lovely rustic hotel but with modern touches. All staff very nice and approachable. Liked the idea of the honesty bar without using it. Breakfast was nice.
Everything other than the heating.
Heating not up to the job sadly. Room radiators only put on when we arrived at lunch time & room/shower room still cold even by bed time. Radiators never really warmed up over our 2 night stay. Breakfast room & bar area chilly also.
Great period hotel.
Breakfast bit chaotic due to number of guests exceeding breakfast room capacity at later end of the breakfast serving time window. Staff pleasant though.
Great location. The room was just right, would love to go back and stay there in the summer.
Nothing to complain about at all.
Very friendly made you feel welcome
Great staff, great breakfast, great lace to stay.....
Room and facilities were excellent, and the location with ample free parking cannot be bettered. Staff and food were exactly what we required, there are lovely gardens too and the honesty bar a great touch. If you don't like a venue with personality and charm don't book; the House of Agnes has these in spades which includes sloping floors and creaking boards.. We loved it.
Only having one night there.
This was the best place we stayed on the whole trip! The room and bath were spacious, clean and comfortable, the ambiance warm and relaxed, and the service attentive. Breakfasts were good, too. We loved it.
There was nothing that we didn't like.
Second time we've stayed here, ideal for a weekend break. Very nice staff, very clean and comfortable just a minutes walk from the High Street.
Room was not suitable for tall people like my husband!!
Marvellous location, free parking, good wi-fi reception, very nice staff, good breskfast
I was ill & my husband said the stall were very helpful & got him a doctor to talk to.
The staff were fantastic, and the facilities are great and the décor quirky which we loved. Really nice to have several areas which can be used to relax in, and there is a well stocked honesty bar. The complimentary toiletries are were also lovely and far nicer than you usually get!
We had a room at the front, and it was quite noisy because of traffic etc. The rooms are themed, which is a great idea, but the theme of ours wasn't bad, just our cup of tea - would advise to check what your rooms theme is to be!
To dislike something about this place you'd really have to be a pedant. It's super cute, low ceiling, exposed beams rooms with tasteful old/recovered furniture in an Elizabethan building. It has parking at the rear. The staff are amazingly friendly. The bed is extremely comfy. The location is just right in the centre of town. It's extremely clean. The room has all modern fittings. Better shower than I have at home! Breakfast was great. What more do you want?! "Oh the floor boards creek" the building is 500 years old the fact it's even still standing is a small miracle...and they don't even creek at all.
I wish I had something to dislike so it would at least look like I was trying to be picky.
Beautiful room, lovely location pleasant and helpful staff.
At the front of the building it was a bit noisy when the pubs closed, this was a very minor niggle.
