Came as a group of three for one night but wished we had stayed longer! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. House of Agnes has a really good atmosphere, it's in a good location with friendly, helpful staff and lovely clean accommodation. Complimentary extras such as bath toiletries were of a high standard and carefully thought out. Would definitely return and recommend.
Great welcome and helpful staff showing us our stable room which was very comfortable. Honesty bar a great idea and made us able to relax and meet new people.
Narrow path for car into car park at rear.
Loved the garden
Tight entrance to car park
The staff were very friendly, the location was excellent, we enjoyed the experience.
Loved the building, and the friendliness of the staff. And the little touches in the rooms made all the difference
The location is excellent, 2 minutes walking from train station (Canterbury West), 2 minutes walking from city centre. The breakfast is excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was in one of the stables, big and bright. And yes, the railway line runs right in the back of the stables, but you barely notice their passage. We slept with the angels!
Loved the location, the decor, the garden.
Warm reception with tour of the hotel. comfortable room (stable room) with excellent shower. Own parking in nice garden and free wifi.
breakfast I think not really freshly cooked.
Boutique styling. Lovely rooms. great garden. Friendly helpful staff Honesty bar. Location next to west gate.
stable rooms next to railway occasional noice.
Great location Genuinely old and interesting building & gardens Free off-street parking Warm welcome Friendly and helpful staff 24hr 'honesty' bar Good breakfast
Very cramped bathroom (but inevitable in a careful conversion of a building of this age) Really odd and incongruous mixture of furniture in the breakfast room and bar.
Location helpful and welcoming staff cleanliness comfort relaxing
Fantastic staff, location and comfort. Definitely will return.
After a warm welcome we were very pleased to find our room in a well clean condition. We spent three nights in one of these pretty stable rooms, which have been recently caring renovated. We were really sad when we had to leave, because staff and atmosphere were really terrific. The noise of the occasionally indeed close passing trains did not bother us at all. We also appreciated the 24/7 self service "honesty bar" and the rich breakfast buffet plus menu selection including English Breakfast. We certainly will come back and can really recommend this accommodation which, by the way, is actually very close to the city center.
A hidden gem in Canterbury with excellent staff and beautiful rooms. Ideal location and service. Will be staying here again !
Nice place walking distance to center of town. Staff very friendly, Nice garden area to sitting or sunbathing with deck chairs. Honesty bar available but I did not use it. Nice breakfast in the morning.
Entrance to the parking is very tight, I managed to scratch my car while driving in the first time, The entrance in on a main road and if you don't take it correct their is 2 metal posts that stick out and as my car was low scratched all along the bottom. Gutted, needless to say did not drive in again once i got my car out.
Lovely hotel, full of charm and character. Good staff and plentiful breakfasts. Location handy and despite being on the main road and close to the station, the room was quiet ensuring a good night's sleep. Nice peaceful garden. Highly recommended.
It was fine, but over priced I felt.
Very personable service. Dickens used to live in this house as a schoolboy, and the house features in David Copperfield.
Can't open the windows in the older rooms. They are genuinely antique!
The service was friendly and to the point. Suggestions were made as to where to eat and what to do. Rooms and venue clean, neat and visually pleasing with touches of luxury.
The entrance to the B&B parking is beautiful but old and narrow and it was little bit stressful to enter with a bigger car. A warning on the website would have helped with a choice of transport. However, we did manage to get a Land-rover in once the mirrors were swivelled against the car.
The general atmosphere the friendly staff the location (we travelled everywhere on the bus) the walled garden etc
The atmosphere Friendly helpful staff The breakfasts
Almost everything 9.9 out of 10
Poached eggs for breakfast were hard not soft & runny
Owner and staff were ll very friendly and helpful, with good recommendations for where to go for lunch/dinner. Room very clean and well appointed. Breakfast very good with a daily 'special' addition to the menu. Pretty garden with the option for bicylce hire.
Everything, start to finish , it was a fabulous stay. The gardens were lovely 35 degrees and lots of shade, the welcome from the staff was excellent, in fact all of the staff were very professional and happy to see us.
