Great period hotel.
Breakfast bit chaotic due to number of guests exceeding breakfast room capacity at later end of the breakfast serving time window. Staff pleasant though.
Great location. The room was just right, would love to go back and stay there in the summer.
Nothing to complain about at all.
Very friendly made you feel welcome
Great staff, great breakfast, great lace to stay.....
Room and facilities were excellent, and the location with ample free parking cannot be bettered. Staff and food were exactly what we required, there are lovely gardens too and the honesty bar a great touch. If you don't like a venue with personality and charm don't book; the House of Agnes has these in spades which includes sloping floors and creaking boards.. We loved it.
Only having one night there.
This was the best place we stayed on the whole trip! The room and bath were spacious, clean and comfortable, the ambiance warm and relaxed, and the service attentive. Breakfasts were good, too. We loved it.
There was nothing that we didn't like.
Second time we've stayed here, ideal for a weekend break. Very nice staff, very clean and comfortable just a minutes walk from the High Street.
Room was not suitable for tall people like my husband!!
Marvellous location, free parking, good wi-fi reception, very nice staff, good breskfast
I was ill & my husband said the stall were very helpful & got him a doctor to talk to.
The staff were fantastic, and the facilities are great and the décor quirky which we loved. Really nice to have several areas which can be used to relax in, and there is a well stocked honesty bar. The complimentary toiletries are were also lovely and far nicer than you usually get!
We had a room at the front, and it was quite noisy because of traffic etc. The rooms are themed, which is a great idea, but the theme of ours wasn't bad, just our cup of tea - would advise to check what your rooms theme is to be!
To dislike something about this place you'd really have to be a pedant. It's super cute, low ceiling, exposed beams rooms with tasteful old/recovered furniture in an Elizabethan building. It has parking at the rear. The staff are amazingly friendly. The bed is extremely comfy. The location is just right in the centre of town. It's extremely clean. The room has all modern fittings. Better shower than I have at home! Breakfast was great. What more do you want?! "Oh the floor boards creek" the building is 500 years old the fact it's even still standing is a small miracle...and they don't even creek at all.
I wish I had something to dislike so it would at least look like I was trying to be picky.
Beautiful room, lovely location pleasant and helpful staff.
At the front of the building it was a bit noisy when the pubs closed, this was a very minor niggle.
Every thought has been given to making the guest feel completely content and comfortable. The honesty bar and its furnishings make a lovely little retreat and the staff are superb.
Impossible to find any fault.
Very charming. Easy walk to sights.
I hate duvets! They are either on or off. No layering to adjust for comfort. The staff was kind enough to provide a light-weight one, though. But they're the vogue, and have had one in Windsor, Avebury, & now Bath.
Too close to the railway line.
It's central to the town and as off street parking
The hotel was accomadating and clean. Breakfast was good quality, local produce and a good selection. Rooms were modern and decor is tastefully done. Car park on site and locked overnight.
We stayed in the Stables for the first night which are separate from the house but right next to a railway. The trains did move slowly but the bass and rumbling woke us at night. We booked online and there was no mention of a railway. The hotel insist they tell everyone but this doesn't happen if you book online. We were kindly moved into the main hotel as the heating in the stables was also faulty. The room was good but the mattress was spent. So due to discomfort, another poor nights sleep. On reflection it didn't spoil our stay and the staff seemed very nice but after reading so many good reviews, we came away feeling disappointed.
We were really happy with this hotel. It has its own car park. Excellent and very friendly staff :)
Staff helpful and pleasant.
Decor very odd for an ancient building. Very noisy facing the street. Bus passengers on top deck can see into the rooms. Breakfast was very average.
Lovely rooms and lovely bathroom. Excellent breakfast.
Slightly tricky wifi but it did work eventually.
Sixteenth century building full of character, with a stylish room full of modern features like a decent TV and wi fi. Staff really friendly and helpful.

Nothing to report - would visit again without hesitation
I stayed in one of the modern stable rooms which was very comfortable, especially the bed, and I loved the design of the furnishings. The main part of the hotel is very attractive, warm and welcoming and steeped in history. Excellent breakfast. Charming proprietors and staff. The garden is a real treat. I would definitely stay here again.
Not a bad word to say, love love love this hotel!! We had the perfect stay for our first anniversary. The bed was so comfy, best sleep wed had in ages!! We will return
We could not find fault
We had a fantastic couple of days in this charming B&B, near to the city centre,
