Plymouth’s largest independent hotel, The New Continental, is in a great location in the heart of the city. It has an on-site recreation complex and a brasserie restaurant.

The centrally located Invicta Hotel has views across Hoe Park towards the sea. It is a Grade II listed (historically designated) Georgian building and newly refurbished to a high standard.

booking easy, room good size, polite staff. Had olives and bread and glass of wine all very nice. Except tinned olives get the ones in oil they taste so much nicer. The staff also got the chef to split the oils and balsamic vinegar in to two pots not the one as be for. Wine was lovely.
big well lit room idea for writting reports. comfortable bed.
Eggs over cooked
Clean and comfortable
The food was not great for 2 out of 3 night stay
Suite was very spacious, comfortable and clean. Good location for exploring the surrounding countryside, and only a short drive form the city.
Although the food in the restaurant was reasonable quality and value, the service was very slow, with clearly insufficient staff on duty when busy. Room service was also very disappointing, having waited 70 minutes for two pizzas, only to find that when they arrived they were clearly 'shop bought' and NOT freshly made.
liked all and everything, especially all the staff, who were accommodating and very kind.
the iocation was good 10 mins to city centre and main shopping area
going to breakfast and being told we had to pay 9-50 each when on the booking form breakfast was included
Clean and tidy
The restaurant food wasn't very nice at all . The pillows were like sleeping with your head on a boulder .
Good room size and clean rooms. Handy if you need to go the Derriford quickly. Probably does good conferences.
Breakfast not worth the money and the restaurant description of "Authentic Flavours of the South West" is misleading marketing as restaurant serves food that is not overly healthy or of high quality which is a shame as there are no other local options without going back into Plymouth. One of my evenings, the hotel could not offer me a table despite being resident so I had to get a takeaway.
Restaurant service was very slow. Even though the restaurant was virtually empty.
Great place to stay. Good breakfast. Does what it says on the tin. Friendly staff
the room was very nice and i loved the mattress however on my initial booking via the internet i asked for a bottle of wine to be placed in my room and this was not done sad as this was my wedding night
I did not like the noise from the air conditioning, the light shineing under the door and the pillows were very hard.
Check in lady very rude, abrupt and in compassionate to guest error, I had lost my card I use to make payments, would not allow me to check in without card, understand Company policy's I work for Mitchell's and Butlers, but on occasions when mistakes are made, you need to be a bit more rule bending and caring to guests. Bathroom was dirty, pubic hair in bath and stuck to walls, coffee mugs dirty ring inside. I have taken photo to post on trip advisor and facebook
Toilet cleaning absolutely poor. Apart from one bartender who offered to help with room issues, the rest of the stuff was not helpful.
Costs - Despite using the hotel regularly there are not any discounts
Hotel is new and modern, with large bedrooms. It is in a good location with ample parking, and easily accessed.
The "American" style of providing two standard double beds, rather than one King size bed.A choice of either would be nicer.
Very good reception experience. Excellent spacious room. Bathroom very clean and also spacious. Also, the room was very quiet which was great.
Breakfast was APALLING!! Greeted by young girl with 'sit anywhere and help yourselves' and it really was help yourself!! Tea and coffee was a makeshift affair on a side table with a flask for hot water, tea bags and 3 jugs of coffee. The hot water flask was nearly empty and the water wasn't hot enough for a cup if tea. The coffee was lukewarm too. When I asked her to replenish it, the young girl brought two fresh jugs of coffee ... that was it. Didn't top up the nearly empty milk jug or touch the hot water flask. Eventually my partner asked a young man who (in his own time!!) filled the flask. The actual food was good although when we went to the hot buffet there were no plates and when we asked for some they were cold, also very small ... trying to make us take smaller portions I suppose. We didn't find the cereal till we were on the way out so didn't have any of that. This was soooooo disappointing, would never go back. Thought the hotel might be new and hadn't sorted out the breakfast drinks but it's 8 years old. As we left at 8.30 an loader, female member of staff came on duty who seemed to have a bit more 'go' to her, too late for us though. Oh, and by the way, the trailing electrical wire and plug board emerging from a cupboard to the toaster probably breaches health and safety.
Location Room comfort Facilities
Keep having issues with staff: housekeeping lady decided it was appropriate to knock on the door at 8am and ask if she could clean my room!!!
I used to stay here on business This time I attended for daughter graduation We took a suite and a twin Breakfast was ok The suite was rubbish and I really wish I hadn't bothered!
Pointless suite room -it's just a bedroom that has a sofa table and fridge - but absolutely no thought of what a suite should be! 2 sachets of coffee - 2 tea bags and 3 small cartons if milk- 1 bottle of water very very poor show! There is now a £100 fine for car parking - notices everywhere - reception, lifts, rooms - notes everywhere Its a real shame to see the hotel deteriorate like this - obsessed with rubbish! I used to stay every week - and the car park was never so busy you couldn't park! I won't be back!
a little well done and dry
Whilst staying at the future inn Plymouth I was travelling by myself, I had a fabulous nights sleep both night except the first due to fire alarms going off but this sort of thing can't be helped , an apology would have been nice as it was quite early. My room was very clean and welcoming and the bed was extremely comfy. The staff were welcoming , I will be staying again as all in all a very nice few days away was had.
I didn't eat in the restaurant but did have some olives and bread, shame they were tinned olives as not that nice, and the balsamic vinegar was totally drowned by olive oil, would personally serve them in separate bowls. The bread was exceptional mind you.
Although we were only there two days, we found the staff extremely helpful and very friendly. The food was excellent and we very much enjoyed our short break stay at the Future Inn.
nice rooms and well equipped
Big car park
A really poor mattress and pillows, when you arrive late maintenance have gone home so don't expect a good night sleep guarantee here! Food good but a 90 minute wait blamed on a full restaurant even though I estimated only 55% full.
