The Gailes Hotel  

The staff were very attentive and the service and food was first class.

We liked the Hotel. Friendly staff. Good Food.

As with all Hotels the banging bedroom doors. When will someone invent a hotel bedroom door that closes quietly?

Poor dinner selection and taking a deal for half board at a extra £40 to receive a £20 food allowance. At eating my starter there was a bit of ceramic in my salad and nearly chipped my tooth. The manager said we wouldn`t have to pay for our two courses but after we told her that we had booked half board we were then told that there would not be a bill and to order another drink. We had both ordered puddings and after our meal we were given a bill for the two puddings. We told them that we would query it.and were not happy about only getting £20 allowance. Eventually there was no charge for them but felt that it put a dampener on our break away.

I thought the atmosphere at this hotel was very relaxing. The staff could not have been any nicer and the food was lovely too. The room was very spacious and had absolutely everything you could want, V.comfortable surroundings.

The restaurant staff were very friendly and efficient.

I was not too impressed with the reception staff. Even though I had booked online several weeks before, they didn't seem to have a room ready for us. We did get a room but this was only after one receptionist asked the other if she had a room available. The receptionist also wrongly assumed I was travelling on business (with a party of five!) even though I had mentioned that we were there to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary on the booking (no mention of the anniversary either). Another thing that I didn't like was the fact that I could hear the snoring of a fellow resident (very loudly!) which would suggest that the walls were paper thin.

Rooms very clean, tidy and well appointed. Food very good with an excellent choice and very well presented.
