We had a lovely time. Pure indulgence. Business though it was it was so relaxing and comfortable. A tonic. Will definitely be back
Hydrotherapy pool. Absolutely fabulous. Did wonders for my frozen shoulder,
the spa was great but was far to overcrowded, not big enough to cater for everyone.
we were seated in an area with 3 tables full of kids, it was particularly noisy. No thought was put into where we were seated as a couple. The bar was shabby and ran out of beer, this was compounded by a guy drunk swearing over the microphone used by the singer.

We didn't like value for money. It was £225 for 1 night bed and breakfast. Got woke up at 6am with the heating coming on banging and taping. Then we eventually got back to sleep. and got woke at 7am by banging of building site next to our room
Lovely break have been a number of times and have already booked my next stay .
The hotel itself was lovely and grounds stunning.
Poor service at breakfast and extremely noisy wake up call due to workmen and renovations.im fully aware these need to take place to better the hotel even more however we were told on arrival we had been 'upgraded due to overbooking' I wouldn't like to have seen our original room if this is what we were upgraded to. Horrendous view of a building site with full sound effects from first thing in the morning. Noisy banging and machinery with workmen shouting over the top of that aswell. Feel we didn't get the full effect of what could have been a great stay .
Breakfast was excellent.Afternoon tea lounge was very relaxing. Staff very attentive.
I dislike the principle of having to pay extra for chips, potatoes, rice, vegetables etc. with a main course selection...a piece of chicken cannot be seen as a meal on it's own! The suite is overpriced at £265 per night . I have stayed in better places for a lot less
Staff where very friendly and helpful
WIFI was very hard to connect to
Everything was fantastic, we booked another stay when we checked out!
Our stay wasn't long enough!
The spa is amazing Staff are so friendly and polite Food was delish room was spotless Breakfast is amazing Overall brilliant
The Spa area, Gillies restaurant.
Lot of building work going on, noise leve very high, spoiled tranquility of some areas within the Spa.
Everything, the staff made it an absolute pleasure to be there, the spa was incredible and the food was Magnificant.
The waiting at gillies over dinner, they placed us on a table that looked like they had just put there as It was on a walkway. They also were very rude and sloppy when it came to bringing out our courses, for each course we had been finished for around 20 minutes before I'd have to ask a waitor myself can I order.
Accomodation, food & spa
11 am check out - a lot of additional cost ie £10 per tray for room service - additional charge for late check out. due to early check out - additional charge to use the spa £15 per person (which was discounted as it should be have been £30 per person per hour!)- if check out had been 12 option to use spa 11-12. Italian restaurant closed.
Excellent River Room Restaurant, with either the 5 or 7 course sampler menu. All courses were excellently prepared and presented. If I have a niggle it would be that all the courses tended towards the sweet side of the palate. My Wife and I do like spicy / very spicy food and would therefore struggle to repeatedly eat this menu.
Primarily the Bedding, with the bottom sheet barely covering the base hence no tuck in at the top, tired hollow filled pillows... even a wash and tumble dry would fluff them up a bit... Also noted spot light directly out above the sink. Out on arrival and still out on departure! A broken bathroom extractor fan thus after every shower a room full of steam. Should I really have to phone up and report this sort of thing????? Finally a badly cracked marble surface top above the mini bar. Even filler would prevent further damage and pass at a glance.
Spa, live band and breakfast.safeguard very helpful and pleasant.
Room was very dark and heat was on alot it was a very mild w end our dinner in Gillies was not the best chicken very dry!!!!
My husband an I had the full body hot stones treatment, it was so relaxing and we really enjoyed it. We then dined in Gilly's Bar and had a lovely meal and enjoyed the music an atmosphere afterwards. We rose early the next morning to make use of the spa and pool. We had a brilliant stay and really enjoyed being pampered by the staff who made us feel so welcome. My husband felt very apprehensive about going but loved it and would and we will definitely stay again.
