location. The shower cut out half way through and left me having to dry covered in shower gel soap. Shower head holder was broken and therefore impossible to direct water in correct direction. Towel in room smelt of damp/musty.

The service was excellent and the owner was extremely kind and helpful, with having breakfast included in a oom with a TV I had more than my money's worth. N/A.

The location We chose this b&b in June (before we saw the negative reviews on booking.com) for an overnight stay for the Olympics. Obviously, the price was going to be bumped up, and we paid £120 inc breakfast and all day parking 10 mins away from the beach. My partner had a good conversation with the owner before we arrived and we were fairly hopeful for a nice evening. However, the reality brought us crashing down. On arrival, we were greeted fairly warmly, maybe the lady just had a strange sense of humour? But the first thing we really noticed were the dated carpets...followed by the out of date hygiene certificates on the wall...and then the grubby corridor walls. Once we were in the room, for the first time ever I almost turned around and walked back out! Unfortunately with the Olympics there would have been nothing else available! In order of what I noticed in the first 30 seconds; ok room size, big bed, horrendous duvet and cover, are those dust bunnies on the floor? Is that tv wired to the stand? Then I opened the curtain and choked on the dust :-) the worst thing was the sink that hadn't been cleaned?? Not even gone over with a cloth? We had to go and buy antibacterial wipes to clean it (another first for me, and hopefully last!) and I cheekily almost left them on the side as an incentive! Luckily, by the time it came to using the shared bath room facilities we found it funny as It felt like we were entering an episode of faulty towers...or grime fighters. Shower was a dirty broom cupboard (I don't know how you would do it with kids) and a basic (but cleaner) toilet. Overnight it was very noisy (as the building is old and not their fault) floorboards, beds creaking and other guests etc. In the morning, we wouldn't eat breakfast there so headed to wetherspoons instead. If they don't clean what the guests can see, do they clean what we can't? My advice would be only go there if it's less than £30 a night and you have no other choice.

I was really shocked by the poor standard of this accommodation. If it had been priced at about £40.00 then 'caveat emptor' but the room was tiny, dirty, the lower bunk bed had not been made up and we were soon being bittne by fleas. It smelt. We decided to leave even though we had nowhere else to stay and I had a meeting the next day. I would have preferred to sleep in the car thne spend any time there. I would like to get my money back. Ive used yourt website before and I would recommedn you dont have this guest house on your books. It is shockingly bad.

The hostess was friendly. On arrival at the galway guest house the first thing that greeted us was the stale smell of anciant carpet. The next assault on the senses came when we first saw our room although it was generelly tidy the bed was hard the coffee cups wherent cleaned properly and the tv was tied onto its stand with a length of wire. All this could have been forgiven if it wasnt for the appalling state of the shared bathroom facilities the bathrom had been split into two small and claustraphobic cubicles and the toilet seat in the gents was improperly fixed and moved when sat on. Frankly i am lost for words to describe the shower cubicle which was basically a broom cupboard with a shower cubicle inside and a strong smell of urine. I cant comment on the breakfast we where offered as my partner and i where afraid to eat there. Im lucky my girlfriend didnt leave me suffice to say we will never be staying there again.

Dave and lyn were fantastic couldn't do enough for us, the breakfast was lovely and nothing was to much trouble! Only downside is the shower room as there was nowhere to get changed so you had to walk the landing in a towel, and the room could do with lots of updating! The shower room and rooms need some updating but other than that it was great

Fantastic reception from the landlady. Great breakfast and just a comfortable stay. Nice to have off-road parking so close to town too! Need to ask directions for the parking before you arrive but a real bonus given the price.

Room very clean and tidy. Staff very friendly and did us a very good breakfast. Great value for money. Rooms very cramped for 4 people, No en-suite facilities and a very small cramped shower room area with no where to hang your clothes. Communal toilet facilities make it difficult to get dressed in the mornings in privacy.
