“ The bed linen and towels are nice quality cotton and are clean and fresh. It's walking distance to Letchworth town centre and the area is generally very quiet at night. The staff are friendly and helpful and I've stayed there four times so far. If I get another social night out in Letchworth, I'll stay there again. ”

Very Basic Hotel, I mean basic, not really looked after and this is evident in the maintenance of the rooms. But the beds were clean and is well situated. And the rooms are decent sized. If you are on a budget, then I would advise, otherwise, no.

Absolutely nothing! The hotel looks nice from the outside, but just take a peek around the back of the building.... This is the standard of the interior! The place is damp, smelly, dirty & antiquated. Everything inside required replacement a decade ago. We stayed for one hour which was the time needed to find alternative accommodation elsewhere via the laptop! I complained of the really poor standard and received the reply "Oh well, that is your choice". The hotel still took the whole payment for the 3 nights and refuse to refund, we are currently challenging them for return of the payment. The thought of staying there literally makes my skin crawl!!! Any good reviews that you read on here must surely be linked to the business/family personnel in order to outweigh all of the bad ones....

Had to ring the hotel and then wait 15 minutes for them to open the doors. The heating was not working in the room, they placed a plug in heater which broke down down during the night. Could not shower in the morning as it was too cold in the whole room and bathroom, when I came downstairs, there was no one at reception to complain to. Definitely will not be staying here again!!

The bed linen and towels are nice quality cotton and are clean and fresh. It's walking distance to Letchworth town centre and the area is generally very quiet at night. The staff are friendly and helpful and I've stayed there four times so far. If I get another social night out in Letchworth, I'll stay there again. The building is quite old and the rooms have been renovated on a budget. As long as you're just looking for somewhere to sleep and don't expect designer interiors or perfect surroundings, it's fine. I don't bother with trying to get breakfast and just use it as somewhere to sleep before heading home after an evening out with friends.

It was on route, so the location was perfect. The price was very low. The bathroom was of a good size. I had a good nights sleep. There was full length hanging space. I have read many uncomplimentary reviews about this hotel, and was expecting the worst, but in fact I was pleasantly surprised - if you accept it for what it is - a budget room only accommodation. Minor niggles only - the room was rather cramped, no hairdryer, only one teabag, no bathmat (the bathroom was carpeted which is not good). Although the wifi was advertised as throughout the hotel, I could not get it in room 6. It did work in the bar area. The barman charged me £1.75 for a drink, I gave him the money he went to get change and then he came back and said it was £3.00, not good - A lack of adequate training here. No staff available at check out - in fact no check out at all, just leave your keys and walk out - oh, and don't forget anything because the door locks behind you and you can't back in!

It had a bed. When i arrived the staff were not friendly or helpful, they did not show me to my room i had to look for it by myself and there also wasn't any signs to aid me in this.I also had to wait ages at the door when i wanted to get in at night even tho i had already informed staff that i would be finishing work late and therefore would need access at this time, as there were no keys i was told they would leave the door open, which they failed to do. Finally on booking out the were no pleasantries ie. hope you enjoyed your stay etc.. not even a goodbye. Overall rude, badly run and not very nice place to stay, if i were there for leisure reasons not work i would have been truly disappointed.

I'd been walking all day, so I very much appreciated having a bath rather than just a shower. I was very tired by the time I arrived, so I also appreciated the fact that after that shower I could walk downstairs and have a good curry. This may be a criticism of booking.com rather than the hotel, but it should be made clear on the booking.com website that you won't get any breakfast, at least on a Sunday, if you do not reserve it in advance,

The location is a mile away from where I was working. Everything else! The room was very dirty and smelled musty and damp. It was very hot and stuffy being above the kitchen. Also noisy as you can hear the kitchen staff clattering pots and pans until gone 11pm. The bathroom was again dirty and the taps did not work properly. The shower was pathetic and hot water took about 10 minutes to come through. Staff only there from 5pm until restaurant closes. Will not be staying again!

Absolutely nothing, arrived at 1600hrs, nobody there at reception, waited at least 1/2 hr for someone to arrive to be told the room needed cleaning and I would have to wait a further 1/2 hr in another room, so just had to sit in this room which the tv didn't work, I'm sure one of the restaurant staff or somebody was asleep in the room I was waiting for. Room once in it was ok, very dated and in need of repair. The sash window wouldn't stay up and would fall down, very very dangerous if you was to have your hand on the windowsill or worse still if you was to lookout out the window - it would act similar to a Guillotine. Booking.com needs to strike this off there list of hotels.

This stay was most unsatisfactory. There was no staff - it took me ten minutes to get into the hotel, including having to telephone to say that I was at the front door. The wifi was not working and there was no breakfast.

Value for money is ok, Towels and beds are clean. There is carpet in the bathroom which is not very hygienic, windows are shabby and mouldy, it is a very basic hotel a mixture between a youth hostel and an Indian restaurant (downstairs...). Value for money ok, but would not stay there again unless I had to.

First room had no wifi and only moved because I told the manager I may be in the area contacting for 3 months otherwise you can sit in a very dirty bar where people wait to collect take away orders. Room never cleaned during one week stay, had to ask for fresh towels and tea/coffee satchets for room, I was given one of each and 2 tiny milk cartons. Very dirty,
