The owners were very friendly and catered to my every need. The room was fantastic and very clean, I would highly recommend this place. I just wish I had more time to spend there. Thank you so much :)
Nothing at all
Everything!!! Was a fantastic stay would definatly stay again!! Very tasty breakfast!! The owners are such lovely people!!! Couldn't fault our stay!!
Feels like you got your own place, with a good shower, nice comfortable bed, breakfast was great and room was great. Staff were very friendly. Would book again.
all what need to work and sleep, perfect
Friendly welcome from owner; Comfortable room with own entrance; Good location within Retford; Good breakfast.
Lovely room, excellent breakfast, proper milk in fridge, attention to detail spot on
Shower water pressure lacking in power
The privacy and relaxed atmosphere, Gill and Malcome were great
Very comfortable room Lovely hosts Nice breakfast
I very much liked the warm welcome. I also liked the facilities in the room including; fridge with water, orange juice and milk, the cereal and the crockery and cutlery available for guests to use. I would recommend Gardener's Lodge to colleagues.
Purely based on my own laziness and the fact that I was travelling on business using public transport and taxis. The lack of local facilities such as a restaurant or pub serving food. The town centre however is a short walk away (see I told you I was lazy).
Lovely little 1 room B&B. Room as its own private entrance and has use of a terrace which is great on a sunny day I'm sure. Very friendly welcome from Gill and Mal, comfy room and a great breakfast. Would highly recommend.
If was being very picky I'd say it'd be good to get some toiletries in the bathroom other than just one piece of soap. But I probably shouldn't expect that for the price I paid, and I shouldn't have forgotten my shower gel!
privacy and breakfast
bedroom very light
The room was like a trendy apartment, gorgeous and immaculate. The welcome was lovely and genuine.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that I wasn't in a typical b&b but rather a purpose made room at the back of the owner's house - i had a very warm welcome and was given lots of useful info about how to get into town and where to eat, the room was lovely and every need was catered for. breakfast in bed was an added bonus! I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to others.
Was in the area for a wedding and this option was ideal for a short overnight stay. Very welcoming owners, nice room, breakfast in bed, privacy. Great value for money in comparison to significantly more expensive hotel options in the nearby area. Would happily stay there again if ever back in area
The welcome was super as we arrived late after a concert nearby. The breakfast was great and just what the doctor ordered after the night before. We'll be back.
Me and the partner was made to feel very welcome
The room is self contained, very spacious, the owner gill, is very pleasant, and friendly, we would defo stay again , nice home cooked breakfast, brought to your room in the morning
I was delighted with the accommodation and the great hospitality of the owner and his family. My stay was very comfortable and my tasty breakfast delivered to the room, right on time. I would certainly stay there again. Sir John Jones
Nice, quiet place to stay, friendly hosts.
Nothing, will come again
The location is great and the fact that you have your own emtrance, so once you arrive its all yours. The welcome and the breakfast are brilliant.
That it was separate from the main house.
Can 't name anything I Didn't like.
Lovely little B & B (one room) with own entrance. Clean, comfortable and the owner is great. Nice touches like chilled water and juice in fridge, tea and coffee. Lovely cooked breakfast and other breakfast bits if we wanted. Easy walk into Retford. Would definitely use again and would recommend. Thanks
This is just a personnal thing. I like a dark room when I as sleeping. However the room was very bright (which is also a plus point) especially because of large windown in ceiling. I would probably bring eye mask next time. However most people would not have an issue with this and it would not stop me recommending
own entrance and separate from the main house. The ceiling fanlight blind drawn could reveal a good starry night The residential area being very quiet.
Everything was perfect for us. On arrival we met Gill and her very friendly and helpful family, Gill took us to our annexe like accommodation and showed us where everything was ... fridge with milk, water and juice, useful cutlery and crockery, heating controls etc. Gill took our breakfast order for the following morning, which was delicious and it was really nice to be able to eat in our room.
