I think that the web site promoted the hotel facilities well, however it did look very gloomy when we arrived. The hotel was quiet and there wasn't that 'buzz' and 'warmth' that you find in most. More like a b&B. We decided not to dine here so can not comment on the food. The hotel staff were excellent and very polite and helpful, and did welcome us to a high standard. I would still stay again though. Excellent location!! Proceeding from the impressive modern entrance/reception the rest of the building was very 'musky' and dated.

Surprisingly quiet Breakfast seemed pricey in comparison with room rate, and so I breakfasted elsewhere. I understood that there was a restaurant. Even in the lift there were details of menus. However, man on reception told me that there was no restaurant, and there was no bar in operation either. Location of electrical sockets was unhelpful. To make a cup of coffee I had to turn the TV off for a while

The location and price were excellent. This is a noisy hotel the walls are so thin you can hear the people moving around next door and I was kept awake with the sound of the fan extractor. The lift is also noisy and from early on people were creating a racket in the corridor.

Good location, friendly staff Bathroom - hot tap had blue dot which usually signifies cold and both knobs fell off when turned. They were probably put back on the wrong way round by previous customers. Did get hot water eventually when I worked out what was going wrong.

Location and privacy. The room was clean. It was good to see equipment for ironing. The room i got was extremly dark, with only one small window in the celling, and only two small lamps on the desks. It was not enough to do anything, especially in the evening.

I liked the location,as it is right beside the shopping center, trams, buses & all transport. It is also very reasonable price wise. The windows are old fashioned & dont close properly, leaving it a bit cold & noisy. But nothing major wrong with this hotel.

Location is excellent only 5 mins walk from Piccadilly Station, the bar is open until 3am and the beds are super comfortable. From the outside it looks like it isnt open, the sign is old and doesnt switch on, the toilets are so low down you are nearly squating. If you are looking for cheap, central

The best thing about this hotel is the location. I was travelling with my mother for a weekend break, visiting family, etc. so this hotel was - right in Picadilly in the centre of Manchester city and close to shops culture venues and the train stations. We had stayed before so I didn't need to consider other hotels this trip. The price was very resonable for a basic, comfortable room. Despite being in the city centre and having a room facing the front of the hotel, it was very quiet and we were not disturbed. There are a number of steps up to the front of the hotel and heavy doors at the top so it is a bit of a struggle with a heavy case. The rooms are quite basic, and slightly shabby. I probably wouldn't have stayed in this hotel if I had been in Manchester for a few nights, but as we were moving on to stay with family after one night, it was fine and suited us perfectly.

It is easy to walk to the hotel from the Piccadily Train Station. Shopping is just a stone's throw away. There are also many eating outlets in the vicinity. Housekeeping is rather shoddy.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful I was woken up at 4:30am by guests banging on my room door and other doors on my door. The lift was close to my room and I could hear it everytime it was used

“Location is excellent, right in the centre of town and only a few minutes walk from the Arndale Centre and the bars of Canal St. Good breakfast, a wide selection of hot and cold food, and the bar staff are friendly, though the drinks prices are high.” James, Solihull |
