Bill is a delight, joking at breakfast, and sharing his knowledge of Edinburgh. Rooms are clean, cozy and good value.
Parking is on street and can be iffy at times
Bill is very nice and provided me very useful travel information. The breakfast is great. Good experience in Edinburgh.
First Class service
The Venue ...what a delightful dwelling. The decor ...in keeping. The breakfast - fabulous choice, spacious family table-plan. The owners - natural givers. - one feels that you are actually staying with family. So much so I entrusted my fur baby to the lads whilst we went to Town. I'll be BACK! Xx Yet another bonus adjacent Piling Park marvellous.
.....Hello , did you read my +??? What's not to like!
except the distance all the things are fantastic. The dinning room is very well decoracted and the breakfast I can sense how the nice owner put heart in it. And then light in dinning room looks so warm when you come back from a fully occupied day time exercise. The single room i stayed is very lovely, the bed, sheets, everything! Very clean and wifi is stable too. I would definitely choice this B&B again if one day i got chance to visit edinburgh.
- Friendly, welcoming, helpful owner - Beautifully decorated with attention to details - Gorgeous breakfast room - Quiet
Bill & Ian were outstanding hosts - warm, friendly & very helpful at all times. Breakfasts were wonderful with meals cooked to order, beautifully set tables & delightful music playing. Our stay at Garlands was one of the highlights of our visit to Scotland.
Lovely hosts. Quiet location near restaurants, shops, and public transport. Within 15 to 30 minutes walking distance to main sights and nightlife. Definitely would stay again when visiting Edinburgh.
Bill is extremely friendly and considerate of individual guests' needs. He goes the extra mile.
Nothing. Great value for money.
Host; Bill is definitly quirky; home made raspberry jam made it worth the stay!
The owners are lovely and the breakfast (setting, food, service) was a particular highlight. Will definitely come back!
Any noise is easily heard from the hallway into the room. Got woken up that way both mornings. But I had the room at the bortom of the stairs, near the entrance. If you can, ask for another room.
Room no. 4 has a Small double bed with an arch of box spring bed made us uncomfortable sleep.
A great welcome and a great location to explore Edinburgh from.
I received a lovely call from the host asking the time of my arrival... On arriving I was greeted with a warm smile and lots of help... The guesthouse is spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished. Breakfast was fab.... I really enjoyed my visit and will be returning for pleasure next time not work...Thank you for looking after me and making me feel like a friend not a guest.
The hospitality was amazing. The breakfast was amazing especially the porridge. Room was great. Bus service is regular.
Long walk to edinburgh old town and the royal mile, around 1.5 miles.
Friendliness of the owner, Excellent breakfast. wel lappointed room.
Plug in the sink didn't work. Latch on shutters off.
Decor is really beautiful Owners were so friendly 15 mins walk from Centre and on main Bus routes . Breakfasts super
Very friendly, warm welcome and excellent (abundant) breakfast. Well situated for a brisk walk or easy bus into town.
Rather dingy basement room. Uncomfortable (soft, lumpy) mattress on bed. Other, upstairs rooms may well be nicer.
do try the porridge ! Fab - a great location - really helpful and attentive owners - will re-book when next in Edinburgh
Our host, Bill, could not have done more to make every aspect of our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. I would heartily recommend Garlands to anyone, particularly to women traveling alone. The location is totally safe and you will be so nicely coddled you won't want to leave!
Great experience, really enjoyed our stay. Bill is a treasure, really loves looking after his guests.
Friendly and helpful hosts Breakfast Ease of access to centre of Edinburgh Stability and ease of access to wifi Comfortable and large room
This has to be cleanest place we have ever stayed! The owner was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic with lots of different options and choices to set us up for the day. Very handy for the city centre with a bus service across the road that takes about 5 mins into the centre not far from the train station. If we ever go back to Edinburgh would definitely stay there again.
Nothing, everything was great!
friendly staff delicious breakfast
having to ascend 44 stairs without having been informed before three cars parked in the street were vandalized that night
