The hosts were very friendly and welcoming.. We enjoyed our short stay very much. Breakfast was served with pride...
The toilet's shower area can be improved.
the restaurant and bar was excellent for decor. The conversion of stables to rooms was very good.
There were cobwebs on the beams over the bed and dust and an empty bottle behind it. The shower curtain was stained from slime mould ans or bacteria when the shower was on the rising air created a turbulence which caused the shower curtain to blow back into the cubicle. I would suggest a glass screen would be better. Also there is no real excuse for slime /stains to be present. Shower curtains if used, should be regularly washed. Most can be in low temperature washing machines. The tile grouting also showed poor hygiene.
Our room was quite small but very pleasant and had everything we needed .The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent, both the breakfast and evening meal.We had a very enjoyable stay in this very attractive cotswold barn.
The only downside was the busy road at night, but a pair of ear plugs sorted that problem out.
cleanliness of rooms
the way in which we were treated refused breakfast by hostees very poor attitude of staff ......
Reception, food and company
Busy main road
lovely meal and breakfast, friendly staff.
room was very small and dark, no views from window as plants overgrown. bed very uncomfortable and creeky!! bathroom basic and old,not nice to be in! food only served till 8 pm and then we felt like we were forced to leave the bar as they turned music off and locked doors
Owners: Julie & Paul are wonderful, welcoming people. Food was great Staff friendly and helpful. Good value for money.
Could use a pillow valet service. Foam not as comfortable as down.
Lovely, attentive hosts. Beautiful old building very well restored, with good bar and restaurant. Very comfortable room. Fabulous breakfast
Road noise, as i`m a fairly light sleeper
The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. It is, without doubt, the best breakfast we have ever had in any hotel we have stayed in!
The only downside was that road outside was a bit noisy.
The only dislike we had was the shower cubicle which just let all the water spill over. This resulted in a damp mouldy smell
Friendly personal service, lovely food and restaurant/bar. Nice room decor and excellent quality breakfast.
Food and service
A small amount of mould in the shower.
Nice staff and good food
On a main road - not too noisy but noticeable for a country boy! Restaurant / bar closes at 8pm
Julie, Paul and their staff were cheerfully helpful at all times....nothing was too much trouble! The location was great...gateway to the Cotswolds which makes it perfect for an extended stay! The decor was lovely inside and the dining area outside had a peaceful country feel! Marg and Di Bendigo Australia
The owners were fantastic hosts The gardens back onto open fields. Plenty of onsite parking Big comfy bed The barman bought our bottle wine out to the garden in a bucket of ice. Nice breakfast Not really busy (calm!!)
One side of the room backs onto a very busy road (nothing that a pair of ear plugs wouldn't fix if you are a light sleeper) No ceiling light, only wall lights which made it difficult to see in the mirror as it was the other end of the room to the lights. If not a ceiling light then a light over the mirror would resolve this. The portion size of the restaurant (only because it was lovely and I wanted more!!!)
Friendliness of staff was excellent. Makes a difference coming into a welcoming environment. Restaurant food is excellent and the breakfasts set you up for the day. Ability to cook gluten free and bringing in gluten free food. Close to everywhere in the Cotswolds and much more reasonably priced than a lot of B and Bs in the area.
Staff and food were excellent. Ambience was great.
Room was a wee bit dark and chilly.
Returned here this year, and were welcomed back- Paul and Julie recognising us from last year. The location is wonderful. The food was good and well cooked. The room had all we needed, and add the warm friendly welcome, and this is a great place to stay in the Cotswolds.
Our family had a delightful 3 nights at Garniche at the Puesdown. We were warmly greeting by Paul in the lovely bar/dining room after our drive from London. The building and grounds are lovely - the service is friendly and professional. Food, both breakfasts and dinner were top notch. Go. You won't be disappointed.
Lovely setting, comfortable room, good food, good price. Would recommend it and hope to return one day
The room was lovely and cool on a hot summers day, but could be a bit chilly later in the evening - very, very minor issue
The location was very picturesque. The room was lovely. The staff were very friendly and accomdating. The restaurant/bar was absolutely lovely, charming and quaint. The food was top quality, fairly price and absolutely delicious. We couldnt fault a thing and had a really lovely time there. I would highly recommed The Garniche at Puesdown and would definately go back.
Shower could be modernised
Nice location and comfortable facilities
Unfortunate smell from the drains in the bathroom
Very friendly staff, enjoyed our stay and felt very relaxed, breakfast was fantastic.
The staff were lovely-very welcoming and helpful with where it was good to go in area. Room was full of character with amazing view from back window. Pub itself was full of charm and luxury-very cosy with sofas where you could properly relax.
Extractor fan clogged with dust balls in bathroom. Road slightly noisy during peak times.
