We used the hotel as a base for a birdwatching trip and thought it very good indeed. The outstanding things for us were the quality of food and of rooms for the price - great value for money. Also the friendly staff and therefore great atmosphere. We tried the Grant Arms for dinner and it wasn't nearly as good - quality or atmosphere, but it does have one great advantage - the quality of information on birding. Garth couldn't go that far but could it do something more in that department, perhaps collaboratuing with someone else locally?

A great place to stay, the staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel is in a quiet setting and very comfortable. The breakfast menu had a great selection and was delicious. Hopefully we will be able to visit again.

The staff were more than helpful and the hotel was clean. The room was very small. The receptionist who took us upstairs had to squeeze against the bed to let us in. The head board attached to the wall was for a single bed but a double had been placed in the room - we are not even convinced it was a full sized double. Cosy - yes. Comfortable - absolutely not. Having eaten many times with family in this hotel we were looking forward to the breakfast. Again - disappointed. Not to the same standard as their lunches or dinner.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, room decor was modern and clean. Room was a bit cold but the staff gave us an extra heater, bathroom was freezing. Our room was on a half landing above reception so was very noisy at certain times. Television and hair dryer a bit old fashioned.

The relaxing ambience and warm welcome by reception staff. We were shown to our room and helped with our luggage. Quite a luxury for a bargain weekend break. Nothing was too much trouble. All the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful at all times. The evening meal and breakfast was of a very high standard with an excellent menu to choose from, something for all tastes. The room was comfortable with a high standard of cleanliness. It had tea/coffee making facilitity with lovely shortbread biscuits, which were replenished daily. The small lounge with a log fire was a little bit of heaven on a cold evening and just perfect to relax in after dinner. Ample parking in the hotel car park of the off street parking area across the road. The location was perfect to visit the many attractions in the area. We especially enjoyed our vist to Inchriach tearoom to watch the wildlife from the viewing window while enjoying scrumptious cake and coffee. All in all a very enjoyable break. We will be returing soon. There was nothing that we didn't like. An extra tub chair in the bedroom would have given that extra comfort that would have been appreciated. However that is a minor detail.
