Friendly and helpful staff
Not allowed to store luggage whilst we went for lunch
Very friendly and Brazilian reception manager. I was very late checking in and they called me to check on my time of arrival.
I forget which door to use when I returned at night and spent some time pressing the wrong buzzer! Perhaps a notice on the one door signposting the correct door to use.
very friendly staff, cleanliness, good area, few steps from the underground station
Manager was very helpful, i.e. gave me an alarm clock as I had none and left messages to let me know when my husband had phoned in the evening. Thank you for such good service.
The staff member at the front desk was lovely. He was very friendly and helpful. He even gave me a choice of two rooms. Overall the place had a great atmosphere. I will definitely come again.
2 minute walk to tube. Excellent value for London. Didn't bother with the boxed continental breakfast which was available for extra £5 but loads of good cafes close by for breakfast. Plan to return next time coming to London.
The shower in room 3 was very low pressure. But we had asked for a quiet room off the main road so made do.
Good location very near Clapham Common South tube station. Alex very helpful on arrival resolved situation re breakfast! Will visit again as daughter lives near by and offers what we require, comfortable room at a good price for London.
Felt misled about breakfast, the continental breakfast was in fact a box containing juice, an apple and muffin to be eaten in your room or on the move. Not worth £5.50. Refund was offered and accepted.
next to tube station , lots of food outlets, the room was spotless
the room was ok but maintenance issue light bulbs out in bathroom , the room was not cheap
Location Rate Friendly staff Clean & comfortable room
Noise from fridge in room (didn't realise it was fridge until morning otherwise could have turned it off)
Near Clapham South tube station, clean room, biscuits every day, friendly welcome.
TV reception was intermittent, the room was quite dark with all the lights on
Very conveniently located near the Clapham South Tube station. Cleanliness of the hotel in general and the bedding and towels in particular. Also the helpful, friendly staff who just couldn't do enough for us.
Breakfast in a box - yuk! We gave it back and went across and tried the two excellent cafes straight across the road. Excellent hot breakfast for less than £7. Beware, we did not get a full refund on the breakfast boxes because we booked through Booking.com which soured our experience of what is otherwise a very nice hotel.
BED FRIDGE VERY CLEAN STAFF
close to tube
no bar reception closes at 9pm
Near underground station
close to tube and rail lines
Street noisy with traffic. We were there in autumn so may be a problem in hot weather. Ear plugs provided without asking though.
Single room was pretty quiet, although could near guests next door at times. Staff lovely and room was comfortable. Lovely double bed for a single room. Handy location to the tube and only 15 min walk to Balham train station.
Shower pressure was non existent and there was a broken bulb in bathroom, making it very dim.
Staff were really lovely and the hotel was handy to the tube station. Lots of food places nearby like Tescos, Sainsbury's, Burger King and a lovely pub next door.
Very close to the busy road so sleep was difficult. The hotel provides earplugs but found these ineffective. Lighting in room was dim but solved when I asked for an additional lamp
location, staff very frindly and willing to help you, especially Alex
room too small
Staff were friendly and most helpful to the point where our daughter visited for one night from London and was put up free of charge. The staff tried to contact us before we arrived to check the time of arrival which I thought was very good as we arrive late in the evening. the room was very clean and tidy with excellent WiFi. The location is superb beside the tube station in Clapham South.
The travel directions from Gatwick were good but the last leg from Balham Station (national railway) could have been undertaken by tube to Clapham South. However this is not the fault of the Hotel
Location was ideal. Place was very cozy and comfortable. Staff was helpful and cooperative. Public transport is just next door. It was two minutes by bus and five minutes walk to the high street. All and any amenity required was available in the vicinity. The place looks like a small boutique cottage. Would love to stay there again.
At times the reception was unattended or close. There are no provisions for late check in. Arrangements are required by guests which are occasionally uncomfortable.
I stayed 3 nights instead of 6 because of an emergency and the receptionist was very helpful.
Have stayed here several times and will continue to do so, very quiet and private, bed very comfortable and room always has very good standard of cleanliness bathroom spacious and modern.
Fridge, close to underground, easy to enter after 22
The location can't be beat, it is a short subway ride to most attractions. The staff were wonderful, friendly and eager to help. They went out of their way to help out and also had wonderful suggestions for restaurants in the area. All in all it made for a great trip.
The rooms face a busy street (but you can't really fault the hotel for that). Although this wasn't a problem for me, noise sensitive travelers would be advised to use the earplugs kindly provided by the hotel. Also the rooms are of smaller size but again this is London and you get what you pay for. The cons definitely don't outweigh the pros in this case.
