On a quiet leafy street close to the center of Croydon, the award-winning, 4-star Croydon Park Hotel is only a 3 minute walk from East Croydon Train Station and just a 15 minute train ride from London...

Location was ideal. Place was very cozy and comfortable. Staff was helpful and cooperative. Public transport is just next door. It was two minutes by bus and five minutes walk to the high street. All and any amenity required was available in the vicinity. The place looks like a small boutique cottage. Would love to stay there again.
At times the reception was unattended or close. There are no provisions for late check in. Arrangements are required by guests which are occasionally uncomfortable.
Have stayed here several times and will continue to do so, very quiet and private, bed very comfortable and room always has very good standard of cleanliness bathroom spacious and modern.
Fridge, close to underground, easy to enter after 22
The location can't be beat, it is a short subway ride to most attractions. The staff were wonderful, friendly and eager to help. They went out of their way to help out and also had wonderful suggestions for restaurants in the area. All in all it made for a great trip.
The rooms face a busy street (but you can't really fault the hotel for that). Although this wasn't a problem for me, noise sensitive travelers would be advised to use the earplugs kindly provided by the hotel. Also the rooms are of smaller size but again this is London and you get what you pay for. The cons definitely don't outweigh the pros in this case.
I'm so proud of myself for finding this place. It was perfect! The price was unbelievable good, location was great (right by the tube), great room amenities including a nice TV, hair drier, good wifi signal, fridge, tea/coffee and light snack replenished daily in the room, plenty of 2in1 body wash/shampoo in the shower. The staff was so friendly as well.
There was a disconnect between the hotel and booking.com on office hours to check in on Sundays. I'm glad I caught that before showing up at 8:50pm, wondering where everyone was. The staff was so nice to stay late for us to check in. So warning: they close at 6pm Sundays! There was also a smell in the bathroom that we noticed every night when we walked into the room. It was a strong, humid smell. It wouldn't last long though. We either got used to it or it would dissipate pretty quickly, one of the two. Lastly, the bed was a little hard but that's just a preference thing. I like my mattresses a little softer. I was worried that the noise would be loud from the street (reading the reviews) but it wasn't bad at all. We used the ear plugs they gave us but we probably didn't even have to.
Very nice and clean. Right outside Clapham Common on clapham South side so great place to stay for anyone attending a festival there! Sw4 or Calling festivals :)
liked the location, just round the corner from the tube station. Also close to shops, eg. Marks and Spencer Simply Food so we could buy all of our supplies for Wimbledon. Bonus having a fridge in the room. Very clean and comfortable.
A bit noisy outside on the Friday.
Perfect location. Short taxi ride to Wimbledon which was the purpose of our stay. Had a parking space which is very rare in London. Clean, tidy and comfy room. Ear plugs provided for traffic and underground noises but this wasn't a problem and they weren't needed.
Great location and older building. Clean and quiet. Central area.
Had to go to reception for WI FI connection.
I have booked that hotel because of its location near Clapham Junction Station and spent ther just one night. It is quite new, very cozy and clean and has a nice and green front garden. Room was on the top floor. It was clean and had a new furniture and shower room. In the room was coffee and tea facility. Room size is reasonable at least for one person.
I couldn't find the TV remote control!
Nice room, everything we needed was there (hairdryer, water boiler, tea). Comfy bed, very kind staff.
Hot water needs a little time, low pressure on the shower.
I can't speak highly enough of the Gateway Hotel. Before booking, I had already read a lot of the comments on here - and I have to say, I have nothing but praise for the service, friendliness and location/value for money that the hotel offers. From the moment that we arrived, they made us feel at home - the manager and staff were so accomodating; they provided a baby bed for my daughter, took the time to show us around, give us recommendations and made it clear that they were happy to help us in any way. The location is fabulous - just a few steps from the metro, near to shops and amenities, and in a gorgeous old style building with lovely bay windows. Our room was light and airy - we were facing the road, and while I have read in other comments that the noise was perhaps an issue - we did not find this at all. In fact, my 1 year old daughter slept, well, like a baby, and did not wake at all during the night. The staff passed by to tidy each afternoon while we were out (light vaccum, new towels and bins changed) which meant we could really take a break, without worrying about anything (and as a new Mum, I really appreciated it!). This is one of the friendliest hotels I have stayed in - and I have travelled quite a bit around the world; I can definitely recommend the Gateway to anyone, families, couples or individuals. Thank you so much again to the staff for making us feel at home and we hope to see you again next time we come to London!
We loved everything about the Gateway Hotel. The only thing we didn't like was leaving - even our daughter didn't want to have to go home!
Comfy bed,good shower
Fantastic little hotel, good value for the money. Room was clean and more spacious than it appeared on the photos. Staff was very nice and helpful. Good location, 5 min walk to the nearest tube station. We had some problems with the WiFi in our part of the building but were eventually able to connect to one of the hotel's other networks.
The neighbourhood can get a little noisy at times (ear plugs are provided though).
Clean and comfortable, good value for London hotel, close to Clapham Common for any events
No cooked breakfast
Very convenient location for my needs and good hotel for the price.
It was a comfortable stay. Staff was very cooperative and friendly.
Staff was very helpful even when we came in the middle of the night. The hotel is very cosy and in the great location.
Great location and comfort. Fairly reasonable pricing. Friendly staff
Breakfast only available in boxed form and pricey.
The traffic Noise
Close to Clapham South tube station. Considering the proximity to the street the noise wasn't a problem at all(we've stayed three times before). The room was a perfect temperature - very easy to sleep in.
The shower seemed to be disconnected.
Gateway is close to lovely park and I could run in morning safely. Very convenient to tube line, supermarkets and nice cafes. Clean, fridge in room, left undisturbed, room fairly small but adequate with comfortable bed and decent TV. Would have liked a bath alongside shower but you can't have everything. Great value for money.
You could hear bit of the traffic outside but not too bad.
Noise, cold, rips in bed linen, busy road outside, dark room
Really good communication from the hotel checking my arrival time / recommending local cafes etc. Very comfy and clean room. Great location close to tube station.
