“ guest houses were not my usual places to stay, but now I'll have to reconsider that having been so cordially treated at GH The single room was small but comfortable. Plumbing was good. Breakfasts good too. Short walk to the 6 Bells Pub but a bit scary walking home through the graveyard after 2 pints, a bottle of wine and an Irish Coffee. Thank you, hosts Tony & Linda. ”

Lovely owners, Tony and Linda. Very helpful, couldn't do enough for us. Good full English breakfast. Quiet and surprisingly hardly any aircraft noise. Also went to the pub close by for dinner which was also pretty good. Could be a bit too warm in the room as unwilling to open the window due to aircraft noise. With windows shut, hardly any noise at all. Maybe a fan could be provided on warm nights?

1) Walked to downtown on a lovely day and sat on restaurant patio enjoying the sun 2) Went to Acorn Hotel 150 yards away & ate at Melissa Restaurant - great (recommend you say here!) 3) Loved historic Six Bells pub just behind the adjacent historic church Only some of our issues: 1) no one to help carry suitcases up/down stairs 2) no real patio terrace as advertised (12x8 up against solarium & fence with cars parked on other 2 sides) 3) no garden terrace (blocked off from use by visitors) 4) walls/rooms/halls/carpets need a wash down 5) staff person didn't know anything about area, couldn't locate their B&B on map, said there was 'nothing' to see, no proper downtown to walk to 6) solarium was over 80degrees-too stifling to sit 7) Staff & front desk were unprofessional. Hard to find anyone & several times, a voice just called to us from a back room as to what did we want

Tony and Linda were very helpful and friendly. They made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was delicious and fresh. The coffee was delicious and also fresh. It was great for our little overnight.

Location of the Hotel. Close to town but out from the city. Nice way to relax before the flight home. The Six Bells pub around the corner is a great place to socialize and have a bite to eat. Nice getting a drive to and from the Gatwick Airport. Would stay here again. Good cooked breakfast in the am; plenty to chose from. Very Relaxing and Welcoming. Extended parking for several weeks very reasonable to leave one's car. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Don and Ginny from Nova Scotia

I loved everything, good reviews are deserved. staff good although only met female owner, fantastic breakfast, great stopover accommodation. good bed great night sleep on main road but didn't hear a thing. transport from airport excellent. honestly I would be struggling to complain you get more than you pay for here.

Very pleasant hosts, happy to help. Gatwick House is a couple of minutes drive from the airport - and the pub next door (about 50 metres away) is excellent.
