Good value for money, Nice & clean with friendly hosts

The staff were very friendly and helpful and we felt we received personal attention. The breakfast was also superb. The view from our room was good and the room was very comfortable. Good attention to housekeeping.

The bathroom was a bit small with no bath.

Amy and John were great hosts and couldn't have done anything more for us than what they did. The breakfasts really filled you up for the whole day and the room had a lovely sea view for us to wake up too. We would highly recommend Gecko's Rest and when back in Newquay we would stay again.

We like our stay at Geckos Rest,from the moment we got no the car park,John was there to help with luggage.They explain where best to go and the place they enjoy dinning.They lend us an iron which was not in the package and even save us from having take away on my wife birthday after she lost a button from the middle of her dress.Well done to Amy for doing her research because she had a sewing kit ready with every colour thread to fix this button and any other mending issues.The room was clean and a lot of space over looking the town and sea.The breakfast was well prepared and a selection of my favourite fruit tea.i brought my own from home and was very surprise to see it was available.this is because very few B&B provide a selection of all tea.Well done to Amy and John alot of thought has gone into thier project.All the best for the future.And how could I forget..the bed was comfortable and there was 2 different pillow type to choose from,hard and soft..I Was well comfy with my soft pillow like I was still at home.slept very well and I wasnt drinking a lot..

My wife didnt enjoy the stairs after a long walk but good excersize if you ask me.

The sea view through our large bay window was excellent and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast very tasty and staff keen to get you exactly what you need/want.

En suit very small but absolutely fine for our needs.

The couple who run this B&B have got everything right - the beds were comfy, the room was decorated to a high standard, the sea view was stunning, the breakfast was perfect (probably the best veggie fry-up in England!) And the couple were very welcoming and helpful. We shall definitely be back and have already recommended to our friends.

Very pleasant stay. Amy and John could not have been more hospitable and helpful - especially with a little 11 month old baby in tow!

Simple, pleasant decor, good size rooms, excellent beds, excellent hosts, so much better than other Newquay guesthouses we have stayed in.

Shower needed a bit more poke.

We loved eveything about the Geckos Rest.... Great people, lovely choice of well presented breakfasts, nothing was any trouble to the Amy & John.We were really made welcome from the minute we arrived there,The lovely room we stayed in had great big windows that had great sea views. Spotlessly clean.Geckos is a great location for viewing most places in Cornwall.A really short walk into Newquay.We had 9 perfect nights at the Geckos Rest... A well chilled out holiday!! just what we needed, Many thanks Amy & John... Good luck for the future at Geckos Rest...We will visit there again in the future..10/10**

Geckos Rest is a little bit of paradise in amongst a bustling town full of twenty year old. John and Amy are very welcoming and helpful. The Guest house is being restored beautifully with some special touches . The rooms are comfit-able and stylish, and when the sun shines they have a beautiful view. A great base for the rest of Cornwall.

It was the most friendliest place i have ever stayed in. They could not do enough for you and looked after you as though you were one of the family. the place was extremely clean, fresh and bright. the breakfast was lovely and hot and if you wanted more toast or tea then you got it. l would definiately go again and recommend to anyone.

John and Amy who own the Geckos Rest are really nice and friendly people, nothing is too much trouble for them. The B & B is very clean and homely the breakfast is very good, I would recomend it to any one.

I liked every thing about the Geckos Rest

our rooms were very well appointed and very clean . the bed was very comfortable. the owners were very welcoming and friendly . would re book in the future .

The owners were amazing, did everything to keep us happy. Breakfast is great in the mornings and if you want to bring food back to the room they are more than happy.

Amy & John are a lovely couple and very welcoming.We stayed in room 11 which was at the very top but well worth it for the lovely views of Newquay and the sea.Our room and the en suite were spacious and immaculately clean and the bed was very comfortable.There was a hair dryer supplied and plenty of tea and coffee. Amy's breakfast was delicious, I've put a few pounds on during my stay! John was very attentive and informative on where to go and how to get there. We had booked a space for our car when booking our stay as there are only 3 spaces for cars at the back of the guest house but there was a public car park right opposite the guest house at a charge. If we return to Newquay in the future we would definitely stay there again and would recommend Geckos Rest to anyone.

Received in a very friendly manner by John and Amy upon arrival. We were lucky enough to stay in an upper front room which gave a lovely view of the seaside. Nothing was too much trouble, John even brought out the cushions for the outside furniture and sauce when he saw us sitting outside eating our takeaway fish and chips! Great breakfast, couldn't ask for more!

We weren't aware that we had to request parking when we booked. However, John was helpful with options but we ended up parking across the road for £2.10 overnight.

Could not recommend high enough. John and Aimee were great hosts providing little extras like utensils for eating take away food to consume in restaurant and other little touches that compliment your stay.Room was clean with great views and well worth the money.Really enjoyed our stay. Brian

really lovely B&B. Very friendly owners, immaculately clean rooms, plenty of tea and coffee provided. Good quality towels. Near to town centre and sea.

there was nothing not to like about Geckos Rest. We had a lovely stay there.

Generally an all round nice plaice to stay, very friendly and helpfull couple who run the hotel. Very clean and tidy hotel and lovely breakfast. Will definately stay there again when back in Newquay in the future.

A very pleasant stay, the location was excellent to the town centre and the accomodation was very nice with a beautiful seaview. Amy and John were helpful and we felt very approachable hosts.

A very good location, great views and the rooms were very comfortable in line with hotel rather than B&B. Amy & John were fantastic hosts too.

Only bit of advice would be to have breakfast times maybe over a longer period, say 7.30 - 9.30. Will cater for early starters and later starters such as me!!! Wasn't a problem, but just little advice.
