George Albert Hotel  

From arrival to departure exceeded our expectations.Carvery and breakfast were both excellent. A very pleasant stay.Well Done!

The breakfast room was rather large and impersonal but the attentive staff and good breakfast made up for this very minor observation

Good choice on the bar menu and good prices. Helpful staff. Comfortable bedrooms and I loved the automatic opening doors, nice touch.

On a two night stay the bins in the room were not emptied.

Staff were excellent - very friendly and couldn't do enough for us - first rate. Room was spacious and very clean and quiet. Will certainly stay again.

Food was not great - gourmet but not really to our liking. Breakfast was good though.

A very relaxing break. Felt very well looked after. The restaurant was a perfect 10. Wonderful service and food. Would definitely re visit.

The room was lovely, with well thought out mood lighting, large and with 3 chairs. The bathroom was excellent although the self closing door was a little annoying at times.

The lighting in the communal areas and the restaurant was too bright for us and we chose to eat somewhere else as a result. We did however have a coffee and brandy upon our return on the first night but we were quite disappointed the espresso was rather bitter and the cappuccino was lack lustre and without any chocolate powder. We did not have anything on the second night. Breakfast was fine if you want a full english with all the oil and grease, we waited a long time for poached eggs on the first day and when they came they were a bit vinegary. The second day there was no self service which was an improvement and we had two lovely poached eggs each with some freshly cooked beans. I would have liked to see a wider choice of fruits there were only prunes or oranges both of which were fine.

The staff were very helpful and attentive, The food was very good, I tried both the restaurant and bar meals was very pleased the with quality of the food. The rooms were spacious and the fittings were of a high quality.

I have stayed here many times and think it is the best hotel for miles around. I go out of my way to stay here for the friendly staff to the comfortable rooms and very good restaurant or bar meals. Quite simply, it is a great hotel.
