A family owned and managed inn, George at Easingwold overlooks the pretty Georgian market square, and offers a warm welcome, fine food, real ales and good accommodations. a very warm welcome with very attentive staff . Very good food at breakfast,lunchtime and evening. Good selection of real ale .Lovely village very handily placed for visiting York, Thirsk and Yorkshire Moors. No hesitation in staying here again . Cycle storage available and plenty of car parking . Will definately return Lighting in room could have been brighter

Ideal situation for travelling to the Dales and Moors. Lovely market town. Staff very friendly and polite, eager to please. Room very comfortable. Option to eat in George in evening very convenient, good standard, reasonably priced. Would definately go back.

This is a charming hotel, with a lovely warm atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and made us feel most welcome. We had supper in the lounge/bar and it was tasty although a little overpriced. Our room was a good size and well presented with tea/coffee and biscuits on hand. If a visit to York is planned, the bus stop is just across the road so no need to worry about driving and parking problems. Breakfast(included in the price) was good and we left feeling refreshed. I cant say there was anything i didnt like about this hotel apart from the room not having a view. Although we didnt ask about this when we booked, therefore cant really fault them for that !

The George is in a good location in the pretty market town of Easingwold. Very central to visit York and lots of areas and attractions. The staff were very friendly and helpful.The younger staff serving meals in the evening are a credit to the hotel.The breakfasts were very good as were the evening meals (the puddings were delicious!) No shower in our room, just a bath.

Pleasent staff good food and a reasonable price. Good location if you want to visit the Dales, Moors and York city. If you only won't to visit the Dales, Moors or York then you'd be better off staying somewhere closer to these locations. The George also let itself down on little details. Eg in our room the bath had a shower attached to the taps but there was no hook to hold the shower or shower curtain. Possibly due to low water pressure. The food was good, tasty and enough of it but my wife had the venison liver and it hadn't been trimmed properly and I had the lamb shank that ha somehow dried out a little. If they could sort these details then it would be very good.

Very pleasant stay. Nice breakfast & dinner. It was a pity we couldn't get a family room as we had to take two double rooms which made it relatively expensive. When we arrived we found one of the rooms would easily have accommodated an extra bed (or one child with us in the double) & it would have nice to have been offered that option.

The room was clean and above expectations. Ample hot water for a bath in a decent sized bathroom. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The food was freshly cooked and sizeable portions. The beer was well kept and reasonable. The hotel was quiet through the night.

Found a fantastic deal via Booking.com. At least half price off. Needed a night away from city life, and boy what a find. The staff and mangement are,wonderful,discreet and not overpowering as some can be.But the food is outstanding. They have managed to find the grey area...Good wholesome food, but yet not all meat,veg and gravy. Best meal we have had in years, and we eat out a lot. Fire lit in the bar area for that afternoon tipple made it perfect.

We liked the vicinity of the Hotel in such a lovely North Yorkshire village with very good amenities. It is a very good area close to the Howardian Hills, the White Horse, and many pretty villages. It is also quite close to York itself with it's Minster and a very good range of shopping facilities, not to mention The Shambles. There is a varied amount of interesting walks in the area, if the weather permits.
