The staff were very pleasant and helpful. One staff member was particularly solicitous about my dairy intolerance. There was some noise penetration between rooms. This did not seem out of the way to us, but our neighbours did not like the fact that we were up and about at 7.30am. |

Visited relatives and drove though lovely countryside A couple of silly local men chatting up the barmaid - they were loud and boorish and she, unfortunately, did not deter them. It spoiled an otherwise lovely evening. |

Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, good meals and well situated in the centre of the village. Plumbing slightly dated and we would have prefered a shower rather than a bath. |

Lots of friendly people in the George, both sides of the bar. Good atmosphere of people enjoying themselves without disturbing others. Huge bedroom and good facilities. Easingwold is a great little place. Everything one needed but we prefer a fixed shower. |

This hotel was ideal for visiting York and all the other places of interest in North Yorkshire, as well as being situated in the centre of a very interesting market town with interesting shops and plenty of places to eat. As it was described as a hotel, we expected a small lounge to sit and read if it was wet instead or our bedroom, but as the weather was good and there were parks very near by, we used that facility instead of having to sit in a pub atmosphere. |

I've stayed at the George before. I like it because it is close to York and in a quite area. It's a nice place to stay in an area of historic beauty. The bar prices are resonable and the staff have got more friendlier over the years (in the past it did seem a bit sombre). Perhaps the George could invest in some rapid boil kettles. The old kettles in the room take ages and new rapid boil kettles cost just a few pounds. This is of course just nitpicking as there is nothing I could put my finger on that can be considered bad at the George. |

The Feathers is in the centre of Helmsley in the North York Moors National Park. It has 3 bars, and en suite rooms, some of which have views of Helmsley’s Castle. |
