A family owned and managed inn, George at Easingwold overlooks the pretty Georgian market square, and offers a warm welcome, fine food, real ales and good accommodations. All rooms have private bathrooms with a welcome tray and TV/telephone. There are log fires in cooler months. The hotel makes an ideal base for visiting York, The Dales, The Moors/coast or simply a few days away. Hotel Rooms: 15

A hotel in a great location, right in the centre of the village surrounded by other pubs and shops. Our room was very large and comfortable, and the brealfast was really good. A nice little hotel that we would definatley go back to.

The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming, the accommodation clean and comfortable. Our rooms, in the ground floor extension, were spacious. The restaurant food was very good. We would definitely stay here again. Despite the variety of options on the breakfast menu and the breakfast award that the hotel has received, there could be improvements such as using fresh rather than tinned fruit and more interesting preserves.

We liked the vicinity of the Hotel in such a lovely North Yorkshire village with very good amenities. It is a very good area close to the Howardian Hills, the White Horse, and many pretty villages. It is also quite close to York itself with it's Minster and a very good range of shopping facilities, not to mention The Shambles. There is a varied amount of interesting walks in the area, if the weather permits.

Chosen from the internet, (by pure luck) our stay over one night was not enough. The staff were wonderful. The ambience of the hotel (especially as it was just before Christmas) was quite magical. The location was perfect (right in the middle of the town square) and the cuisine (all locally sourced) was delicious. The town itself, was a great surprise to us both, as we expected something much smaller and not as well equipped with shopping facilities. The small businesses selling much of the locally produced products, along with great food from further affield, was both a surprise and a joy. Easingwold, you should be proud of yourselves. We shall be back in the early spring for a longer visit and we will certainly be staying at The George - were else? Gill and Colin Lippett

Very good value for money, staff were very helpful and pleasant during our stay. The room was lovely good size, didn't need to leave the hotel if you didn't want to, evening meals very good value for money and full English in the morning was great. Ideal location for us as have family in Easingwold, two minute drive away.

Central location for York and North Yorks. Food very good. Don"t think it was worth £73 per room for bed & breakfast. Also the rooms are very dated, lots of stains on tables in our room.

Our stay at the hotel was slightly marred by the electricity to the power points failing then later we had no hot water for the showers. We found one of the front of house staff to be quite unfriendly but despite this we would stay at the George again as the plusses are more than the minuses

You are always made to feel welcome ans the quality and standard of food is excellent. The room above the bar is rather noisy until closing, so if you prefer to retire early I would avoid room 3
