After arriving at the hotel 2 hours later than check in time, after working a 17 hr shift, the room was not ready. That night when I got into bed to my disgust and discomfort, the previous guest had wet the bed. I slept all nite on top of the duvet. Will not use this hotel again.

Room 4 is a fantastic room - huge, very old with beams a large curved arch beam. You will be staying in a room that is over 700 years old. Bathroom is of a good standard I would recommend for mid week stays when the bar may be quieter. Being so old the you can hear people talking in the bar below and also remember that it is adjacent to the High Street and there is some traffic noise but this calms down at night. So for light sleepers perhaps not the best location. However, do not give up an opportunity lightly to stay in room 4. The hotel is somewhat tired and I expect that one day someone will restore and then be able to charge a fortune for the room - so go now while it is still cheap

Amazing, massive room with high ceilings, huge en-suite and stunning olde worlde features. The breakfast options were limited if you don't want cooked breakfast. I'd have liked some fruit and a yogurt for example. I did ask but I got a flat "no".
