George Green Farm  

Great place to stop, friendly staff ideal location to stop for Stansted much better than stopping at the big hotels in the grounds of the airport. Good pub next door which does good food. Lovely room, Would recommend to anyone traveling from Stansted

Fantastic rooms with excellent design touches. Friendly and helpful owner. High quality feel (not stuck in a time warp like a lot of B&B's) but at a reasonable price. Pub next door is very friendly with excellent food at a reasonable price. Although I stayed due to work, the place is so nice, it felt like a holiday !

Bedroom cold, bathroom very cold. Bed linnen very highly scented - which is terrible if you have astma or allergies.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly, I would recommend this place to anyone who needs a comfy place to sleep for a weekend. Very satisfied!

We arrived very late and the owner waited for us. Which we were very thankful. We arrived with our 3 year old...they don't take kids under 10 which I didn't read before but they let us stay. The house is a very old farm house that is very well maintained. The beds were VERY comfortable and the sheets smelled wonderful. The next morning they had a tasty breakfast spread and had a lovely visit with the owners. Overall a great experience and we would stay again...without our son!

Because of the age of the home there is a little road noise and noise from the planes. But the bed was so comfortable we fell asleep fast!

Gorgeous little B&B, loved our room - it was decorated in a lovely way, lots of little extras and thought put into it. Doug and Marie were very friendly and helpful, very chatty.

Character and setting was comfortable yet fascinating with obvious history which we really appreciated. Proprietors were friendly and made us very welcome.

Free transfer to airport for early flight.

Stayed at George Green Farm as flying from Stansted next day & we parked our car in yard at back and Doug arranged taxi to/from airport. Lovely farmhouse in pretty village with pub next door - a perfect start to our holiday to have dinner in the pub and wander a few steps back to the b & B. Room was spotlessly clean and full of character - loved it & did wonder at one stage why we were heading off to holiday in another country?? As we had to leave very early next morning we didn't sample breakfast. Easy journey to the airport - no more than 15 mins. Would always stay here when flying from Stansted as it's a lovely experience & good value for money.

Can't think of anything to dislike!

Stayed here prior to a Stansted flight and parked the car for a few nights, planning to stay another night on the return journey. Unfortunately my husband took ill halfway through our holiday and we had to return early. Doug was very helpful in trying to find us somewhere to stay but unfortunately didn't have any luck so we drove straight home. We would have loved to stay for one more night in this lovely b & B. and would definitely book here again if we are ever in the area. Also had a lovely meal in the pub next door, but be warned the portions are very large! The room was lovely, en suite, and breakfast in the morning, including scrambled eggs, croissants and cereals made for a relaxing start to our holiday. Doug and Marie, our hosts, could not have been more hospitable, and the next time we fly from Stansted, George Green Farm will be the first place we contact.

was very dissapointed as i was quoted a price for bed n breakfast and en suite but in fact only got a bed,,,,,so the price was well over the top

Very peacefull atmosphere. Clean and decorated with good taste.

No complaints. Great breakfast. Maybe could use stronger reading lights, and on both sides of the bed.

Friendly host (Doug), on-site parking (not required to leave keys), easy access to Stansted Airport, gastro-pub next door, lounge for guests, intriguing collection of paintings and other artifacts.

Paid extra for room offering fly-and-drive package but was asked for a further £24 to cover parking charges while I was away (eight days);this extra charge was not explained on the Booking.com web site, but I see that this has been updated, so future guests will be aware of the additional charges. Doug and I agreed a mutually acceptable compromise regarding additional charges, and I would be happy to stay there again and to recommend George Green Farm to others.

Staying at George Green is the ideal situation if you want an early flight from nearby Stanstead, since they let you park your car in their yard, and drive (and collect) you from the airport, as early at 5 am! A very pleasant start to a holiday, since the adjacent Pub, the George, provides excellent food in the evening. The rooms are comfortable, and the furnishings period style. Very nice hotel.
