Score from 195 reviews Very good
Overlooking the sea, the North Walk House is situated on the cliff above Lynmouth Bay. The rooms and garden terrace have ocean views stretching towards South Wales, Exmoor, and Foreland Point.
Score from 6 reviews Exceptional
At Barnstaple's only 4-star hotel offering traditional Edwardian luxury, you can enjoy a central location overlooking the Taw River. There is a formal restaurant, free parking and large leafy grounds....

Around 13 miles from Barnstaple, The Portsmouth Arms Hotel is a 600-year old coaching inn offering cosy en suite rooms and cottages in the Devon countryside.
Score from 55 reviews Wonderful
Wonderful location, near local market in friendly smaller town. Recently remodeled bathrooms, clean, nice rooms. Great breakfast. Great place to stay!
Large room Character building Great food
Little pushy towards you booking a table
Good Breakfast Well equipped room
They gave me black pudding for breakfast even though it wasn't on the menu. Also because it is a family run hotel it is a lot friendlier than the bigger commercial ones. Also, when I forgot my shirts in the cupboard, they posted them back to me. Now that's a good service.
Staff at reception are very friendly and eager to help thoroughly.
The floor in the room and bath are squeaky.
Convenient location. Very comfortable.
Nothing to dislike.
The friendly approach of the staff.
staff - very friendly. breakfast - superb very good showers.
rooms could do with being updated.
Central position and car parking
Food in restaurant too modern for me. Noises from the room above wre clearly audible
hotel very clean and food excellent, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel is convenient for exploring Exmoor and the surrounding area.
nothing not to dislike!!
Very good stay handy for the buses to get around. Very polite staff. Nothing was no problem.
Friendly staff, clean rooms and powerful shower. Excellent food in the restaurant.
Couldn't get wifi in room 12.
Very friendly old hotel full of character
Floors are very creaky
Warm and friendly staff and atmosphere
As the chef was taken ill had to find another place to eat out
The staff were fantastic, the Hotel was homely and welcoming.
Very helpful staff. This secret deal price is only the price that this hotel is worth, £48 per night.Only continental breakfast was available on our first night and the restaurant was closed as well.Very clean tho'.
Couldn't fault it really
It was handy for what we wanted in the middle of South Molton. A very pleasant dining room and a comfortable bed.
Filthy windows, sauna box of a room and light bulbs missing.
Food was very good. Excellent pint of Tribute.
Staff greeted us on arrival, told us about the evening firework display, showed us the evening meal menu etc. We were taken up to our room, the receptionist offered to carry our bags. We found the room very comfortable and pleasant. The hotel was nice and quiet , no noise from other guests etc.
Nothing not to like
Excellent friendly service, good food and the wifi service was good throughout the location.
Apart from the car park being a little hard to find in the dark, there was nothing to dislike
staff very friendly & helpful. breakfast superb (made to order). good general atmosphere throughout the hotel. very clean & comfortable. excellent location (town centre).
tv in room VERY small but hardly watched it anyway.
Comfortable beds, pleasant rooms, reasonable breakfast, helpful staff.
Bathroom - no towel rail, shower screen leaked water all over floor, broken lock on door. Two out of three lamps in the room didn't work. Small TV.
Having stayed for two nights one before and one after a family wedding we were horrified to find that the room had not been touched ie beds not made, bathroom not cleaned, towels not changed. The car park is at least 2/300 yards from the hotel and there was no help offered to carry luggage to our room. The worst Hotel that we have stayed in and very poor value for money.
