Wonderful breakfast and the girls serving were very friendly and welcoming. My first impression, I rang the bell for service 3 times before I went looking for someone to check in, and then I carried 2 bags up to my room with no offer of help, Check out was much better though,

Comfortable. Welcoming. Centre of town, but not too noisy. Character building. Good food. Room was very warm - would benefit from provision of a fan. Plumbing slightly noisy. Shower could do with updating - some minor mould present, and shower temperature control fiddly to operate.

The location of the hotel is good it is central to everything in Brecon. The breakfast was also really good. There is no on site parking we had to park in the morrisions carpark and had to put a ticket on the car every 2 hours so it was a bit of a pain The hotel is ready for a makeover the carpet on the stairs is threadbare and in the room itself the bathroom was very tired looking the sink was cracked and so were the tiles around the bath and window, I think it is too expensive for what you get.

We stayed at the George Hotel on our visit to Breacon because we had stayed there on our Honeymoon 45 years ago. It was interesting to note that the facilities had improved since that time with the installation of ensuite bathrooms to the main hotel rooms. which where clean and bright. We were offered a room in the annex which was in a poor condition with scruffy furnishings and subsquintly were moved into the main hotel. The food was good and wholesome from a limited menu which ment that service was promt. breakfast was good. and we enjoyed our stay.

A nice bar and dining room. A good breakfast. The Annex is directly on the street. It was very very noisy and we did not sleep at all. We had to move the mattresses on to the floor to improve comfort. The heating was up far too high. We tried to adjust it by turning it down/off in the bathroom but it remained on. We had to open window to keep cool and so then it was even noisier. We understood that the hotel is traditional in style but the room felt tired and needed attention.

I stayed for two nights on the run up to Christmas and enjoyed the real open fire of the bar, the happy festive atmosphere and perhaps one of the best cooked breakfasts I ever had As with many Hotels located in the heart of a small town, parking is an issue. There is parking available in the council run long stay car park but space is limited.

Friendly atmosphere, pleasant decor, good food and drinks in bar The only complaint I had was that the thermostat on the radiator in the bathroom wasn't working and the bathroom was extremely hot/ The proprietor said he would call out he plumber as soon as I mentioned it to him.

The welcoming atmosphere and the old style traditional atmosphere. Kettle flex was too short. Sitting room was sparse only one chair in large room. The cupboard under the sink was dirty. Decor could have done with freshening up.

The breakfast and proximity to the events I was attending The room was cold and damp on arrival with wallpaper gaping on the walls. I asked them to do something about it and was told that the room hadn't been used recently and therefore whilst it wasn't practicable to get a plumber to fix the heating, they'd put a fan heater in the room while I was out. When I returned some hours later the lights were on on in my room and the fan heater had turned the room into a sauna. I subsequently had some difficulty in sleeping comfortably. The sink in the bathroom also had a large crack in it and the shower fittings were so stiff that I couldn't get the water temperature above cool and had a problem in switching the shower off afterwards
