The staff were excellent and our stay was special Manageress, Allison, needs to get her priorities sorted out when it comes to Agency bookings. You do not attempt to re-let a room and expect the guest to still pay for it. Bad attitude which nearly spoilt the stay. The rest of the staff were superb.

we stayed in the room with 4 poster bed. Very large room with jacuzzi bath. lovely view onto walled garden. very nice to sit out in morning reading paper. breakfast was fine very large portions. all in all a lovely evening away from it all. will certainly go again. Debbie was great very helpful and friendly. only downside is they do not have room service for breakfast which would have been nice. but not a problem and certainly would not stop us booking again.

Staff were friendly. The main meals were excellent. Breakfast could have been better. Room was tired some maintenance needed especially for the cost of the rooms which I thought were high.

We really enjoyed our stay we were made very welcome from the minuet we arrived. The food was excellent a really good menue for breakfast and evening meal. Our rooms were in the cottage style accomodation within the walled garden which worked very well with older children. The rooms were warm and adequate and homely. Good value for money. The only thing we didn`t like was the lack of a power shower in the bathroom and parking to the rear car park was difficult.

A traditional inn that has been tastefully modernised, and with the bonus of an excellent modern restaurant. Excellent location for North York Moors and East Riding wolds.

Nothing, except: The Receptionist "Debbie" was most helpfull all the way through our stay, The food was of poor quality in its cooking, " good food ruined in its preperation" we asked for wheelchair friendly acommadation it was not suitable for the disabeled. We asked if it was dog friendly, and it was not. We would not go to the George & Dragon again!

The pub was pleasant at first. My night was completely ruined by a group of drunken/racist/sexist men who were extremely rude and lewd in the bar(I am no prude) and carried on being loud and banging doors in the middle of the night. The following morning at breakfast they were bragging about their exploits. The staff did apologise but it cost me £90 for a very poor night.

Location close to the places we wanted to visit. Staff were excellent, very helpful and HAPPY. FOOD WAS EXCELLENT Bed was basic and needed replaced, could feel the springs, so got up every morning with aches. Shower cubical had many marks on grouting and should be steam cleaned; I bought bleach cleaner and cleaned myself before using. Room was very basic and not shown on web site, would try another room if I return in order to make comparison Room 2 needs a good make over

The staff were very welcoming and helpful, the food was excellent. We liked the location and the town. It was good value for what we paid on the deal. The room was a little bit dated althopugh the bathroom was modern and nice. But we had everything we needed and it was clean and comfortable

The staff were very welcoming and very approachable. In particular Debbie was very freindly and helpful. The setting in North Yorkshire was breath taking. The open fire in the bar, the furniture, the dinning restaurant, the staff, and especilly the accommodation all combined to make this a very memorable stay.

It was a friendly hotel with very good food available, breakfast was particulary good. It was also competively priced. The walk from the rooms to breakfast, and a small point I know but I feel coffee like tea should be served in a pot at b-fast with two cup capacity.

Stayed in pubs before and booked with mixed feelings. However there are outside bedrooms accross the courtyard from the pub which helps although no noise in the pub even though it was a Saturday night. Bedrooms large enough with a bath ideal on a cold Winters evening. Staff very friendly during the booking in period, always a good or bad sign. Taken to our rooms, travelled with friends, and the usual information given. Had booked dinner in advance and came down to a roaring fire in a homely pub lounge. We dined in the restaurant which was big and spacious and very tastily furnished. We ate from a menu which catered for most tastes and not expensive. Drinks at normal prices for the area. After the meal we relaxed in the bar with locals and felt very much at home. Offer of a free night and a 20% reduction on a meal if booked between January and March which we will probably take up. All in all an excellent pub and would gladly recommend.
