“Would recommend this hotel very highly, stopped for 3 days with family & friends & totally enjoyed every minute of our stay. Excellent service from all staff, food was fantastic & reasonably priced, rooms had so much history & charm that I cannot describe it to its true description.”

It was wonderful to stay in such an historic place. Very comfortable and clean room. Very pleasant staff, not only efficient, but very friendly, and keen to interact with guests and to answer questions. Pleasant atmosphere, lovely courtyard. It would have been nice to have been shown to our room, rather than being given directions, and made our own way up. Breakfast was a bit disappointing; fried food was a bit stale and greasy. Suggest you buy a good quality sausage, which makes a big difference. When booking, it is stated that there is no parking available. Would be better to explain that there is Pay and Display parking at the rear, free from 6pm to 9am.

Welcoming and helpful staff, clean and comfortable AND spacious rooms, easy access to the long term car park just at the rear, and a great breakfast. The front door onto the high street isn't opened until noon - making an early morning walk to get newspapers awkward, as is, we had to go out the back door and walk around to the front???

Lots of character, lovely staff. It is reputedly haunted, and we did experience some disturbance! Noises at night, there was no one there! Quite a bumpy bed!

Would recommend this hotel very highly, stopped for 3 days with family & friends & totally enjoyed every minute of our stay. Excellent service from all staff, food was fantastic & reasonably priced, rooms had so much history & charm that I cannot describe it to its true description. We came from Australia to meet family & friends & without doubt this hotel was the highlight of our holiday & will remain in our memory as one of the best experiences ever. A credit to the manager & staff & we would recommend to anybody & everybody. Look forward to stopping again on our next visit to the homeland. Best wishes to everybody in the Hotel from the Carrigan Clan from Brisbane.

I've stayed here several times and have never been disappointed. The new staff/management is wonderful! They make you feel very much at home! Food and beer were excellent! Need to repair a few leaks here and there. I do realize it's an old building though...

We loved the building and learning of it's history. Our room was comfortable, clean and warm although there was no way to keep the window open during the night we had to use a book to prop it open.Staff were friendly and helpful, ale was good and the food also very good.My only negative observation was the stairway access to the accommodation, I did notice that it was a bit of a struggle ascending with your luggage especialy with the more mature guest. Overall a very pleseant experience and we would use the hotel again.

The George & Pilgrim is in a great location for the sights of Glastonbury, the Abbey and the shops are all at hand. The Pub it self is quite scenic and welcoming, with the pub downstairs and the rooms upstairs, but not too much noise from the pub floating up so that was wonderful! The breakfast was ample. This accommodation says it has Wifi. It may have, but it didn't work at all during our two night stay, even if we were right next to the office area where the equipment is supposed to be. The gal helping me (when I complained several times about no signal) said that they had been having troubles with it lately, and that in such an old building...etc. Etc. So, no Wifi during our stay-and we really needed it. The good news is there is free wireless at the internet cafe at the Assembly Rooms, across the street. Just buy a drink. Also- we stayed in the Monk's Cell room (twin bedded). Each night the TV went on around midnight, by itself!!! As we were fast asleep-it scared the whatever out of us! Mentioned it when we checked out and the fellow said "oh yeah-we heard that from another person last weekend". This room is supposed to be haunted by the ghost of a monk who committed suicide in the room. Swell.

Our room was lovely includinf the uneven floors.Breakfast was good and staff were fine. Sadly the location is no longer what it was-it was next door to a pub which allowed its clientele to disturb and offend guests staying at the hotel.Whilst I know this is no fault of the hotel it spoilt our visit. Also I requested extra pillows and was informed that none were available-it is a hotel-this was dissapointing and i had to resort to putting towels under my pillow to get a suitable firmness. Although there is no parking available at the hotel I found the cost of having to pay to park in the rear car park wrong.Surely the hotel could work with the council to accomadate guest parking.

Everything. The building itself is magnificent and steeped in history. The staff were fantastic, all immediately welcoming with nothing being too much trouble for them. The food was very good and pleasantly served. Although our stay was short it was most memorable for the warmth and friendliness shown to us. We will certainly return. Absolutely nothing to dislike about the George and Pilgrim

My ideal of visiting the george & pilgrim would be to walk in the rear entrance and out of the front the only decent things that looked clean was the shower room we were assured before arriving that the bed bugs had been eliminated but we saw them on the bed boards would not visit again for free

The ambiance of the hotel is superb it is greatly helped by the age & decor of the property we loved all the features & diffinitely has the wow factor without totally blowing your budget. The four poster bed was great, the evening meal & breakfast we had was really tasty. I would recommend to all I still give it five stars The wifi was poor due to reception

Entering the hotel and the way up to my room reminded me like I was entering the path of another century. For that brief moment it was not 2012. I liked the fact a that it was clean and from another century design wise.

I love the oldy feeling, the creeking floor, we had a beautiful large room with wooden bed and a "medieval hole in the wall". The location is also so central and the breakfast room so beautiful decorated with Pre- raphaelite images :). We stayed there previously but in a more modern room, so we were super happy to have one of the older with more character room this time around.
