Location, room layout The hotel "nickeled and dime'd" us. First, we were early, room not available, but, the clerk said "we have one of our better rooms ready and you can have it for 25 ls extra. Next, "you can have a morning paper but we charge to bring it to your room". Lastly, they have implemented a 2% surcharge for using a credit card! They didn't charge me, after I questioned the policy. |

The scottish staff were fantastic, even the cleaners were lovely. The breakfast was great and perfectly cooked. The service was impeccable. I would like to see more Scottish staff then eastern block. The shower was a bit rubbish as the water went everywhere and the plug didn't work on the bath. But they got the important things right. |

Having stayed many times before when under different management we did not think it was as good overall as it used to be. The room refurbishement was good. Noisy in front rooms |

Location, good size of bedroom, excellent breakfast, efficient and friendly staff. Room was very warm even with windows open. Not great soundproofing i.e. doors banging, people talking |

newly renovated , but still retains original features.very friendly, great location near to shops and just off Princess street.has a feeling of space inside. although our price included breakfast , i do think the cost of breakfast is ridiculous. |

The location was excellent. Nice places to eat locally. We arrived for breakfast at 10.04 on our first morning (service ends at 10.00). The waitress was very discourteous, she took out her mobile phone to check the time, which surprised me as I thought it very unprofessional that staff have mobiles on them at work. She spoke very sharply to us, said the time a couple of times and said the service had ended and said "you are too late!" Then I think when she saw how shocked we were she said "ok - go into the restaurant". We didn't know the protocol, we had to pick a table and take cutlery from wherever we could find it on other tables. We were mortified and other guests looked on wondering why we were waiting on our own table. Eventually a waiter came and offered us tea and toast. |

The comfortable atmosphere about the room. Bathroom was sumptuous. We were upgraded to a superior room for no extra cost which was a nice suprise by booking through this site. We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary so it made it a bit more special Could not be faulted |

the restaurant was good and the staff very nice as i stated before the room was a bit small and i would have liked to know about an upgrade. the no parking would put you off too. |

I thought the location was fantastic and the room very comfortable indeed. Probably the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in! Our bathroom fan was not working and the breakfast was cold. Service at breakfast was not very good either but the other hotel staff were excellent. |

Efficient staff; unobtrusive and helpful; well appointed rooms; high quality catering No parking...some of the breakfast tables were too small in the bar area to manage the number of breakfast items. |

The location was impressive and very convenient for the city centre. However the lack of any parking places meant a long shlep with our bags from the nearest public car park. The rooms are becoming quite tired. No air-conditioning and therefore the window needs to be open which lets in all the traffic noise and the bin-men noise at early in the morning. Also the biggest complaint was the lack of breakfast space in the restaurant. Having to queue up for breakfast in a 4 star hotel is totally unacceptable. I complained to the duty manager and was fobbed off with the excuse that it was "because everybody seems to come down at the same time!" |
