Score from 858 reviews Good
Great central location without being too noisy.
Great location, excellent sized room with good design features.
No on site parking if travelling by car.
The quality and location of the hotel.
Location and cleaness.
Although the room being very good insize and confort it was located at the very end of a long corridor and just in front of the locking room where the they keep the rooms cleaning equipment. On the early morning they made a lot of noise taking everything out to start their cleaning Job.
Stayed at the George for many years and we just love everything about it
Breakfast Bar Room
staff were excellent
room was a little less than expected for the high price
Location was wonderful.
Reception staff unhelpful, rooms noisy, my 14 daughter was rudely asked to leave the bar in the evening. We asked if the waiter could bring our order to the foyer, "if I have time" was his reply. Would not stay here again
The location was best.
We're put in a disabled room. Also drinks far too expensive. Buffet breakfast cold.
Expertise of the Staff at the Hotel. The location is ideal for shopping & touring the sites.
Maybe the room was too close to the lift, but this is something minor, it has no impact of me staying again.
A lovely, comfortable hotel in an excellent location. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Concierge/doorman was extremely helpful. Great location
Very difficult to get, then keep Internet service. Even after paying for it only one device was supported. No gym
Location. Concierge was nice
I don't understand why hotels make you jump through hoops for free wifi. Reception staff was not very nice. TV didn't work. Room was very dated. Could not see out of windows, they were too high. Also, the pricing on booking.com was not straightforward. I would not stay here again.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was first class.
Pillows were not good. Good do with something a bit morefirm.
Convenient for my business purposes and for partners shopping experience.
No parking at the hotel other than short stay which you pay for. 10% discount offered by Hotel on nearby NCP car park though.
The atmosphere, staff and location is excellent and the hotel affordable.
Small rooms with poor air quality, breakfast not included
Great staff. Very helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet was marvelous and the wait staff very attentive in the dining room. We have stayed here once before and will stay here again on our next trip to Edinburgh.
The shower in the tub. Either the shower head is angled too low, or the water pressure is too low, as it was impossible to get sufficient water spray without hugging the wall below the shower head.
The hotel staff were really helpful and caring. The room was lovely and the location great.
The TV picture was awful!
My trip to Edinburgh was fantastic from the minute we arrived at the hotel we were made too feel welcome, we checked in at 10.30 am and our room was ready which was great. My boyfriend happened to mention that it was his Birthday and when we arrived back to the hotel later that day they had left a birthday card and chocolates up for him. The room itself was lovely and really comfortable. The location is excellent a 5 minute walk to princes street, and is there is so man great shops, bars resturants within walking distance. The hard Rock Cafe is directly across the road and Jamie Oliver has a resturant about ten minutes away. Overall an excellent stay.
I had no problems with the hotel, location evertything was perfect, However perhaps the staff could have had a little better general knowledge of the area.
Close to all amenities and attractions.
Not many of the staff were scottish
Large comfortable rooms in a top notch location.
Terrible view. A bit pricy.
Access to room - between floors Price very high compared to previous visits
Small bathroom even in the "Deluxe Room" Poor quality shower, standing in the bath with a smelly plastic shower curtain is not a good experience.
Poor welcome, no one asked me if I wanted tea or coffee at breakfast, air con unit outside my window was very noisy all night
