The central location of the hotel was perfect, and the room was nicely decorated and very comfortable. The staff were very abrupt , unhelpful and not at all welcoming. Tea and coffee making options and bathroom toiletries very minimal. |

The hotel has had improvments from my last visit in 2004. Rooms are smart and modern.Reception and restaurant staff friendly and helpfull. This is the only hotel we will use on any future visits to Edinburgh tea and coffee making facilities in room basic, minimum amount of tea and coffee and no biscuits. |

The hotel was in an great location for a stay in Edinburgh, handy for shops and sightseeing. There is only one restaurant and bar (both very busy) and therefore no place for hotel guests to relax and enjoy a quiet drink. |

The location was perfect. Lots of shopping and restaurants available. The staff was great, very friendly and helpful. They were very busy when we stayed there, but they did their best to see to our needs and see that we were comfortable. |

The George is a wonderful hotel. The location is great, the staff are very friendly and helpful. We stayed one night and had dinner and breakfast, and the food was fantastic. Could not have wished for a better stay and cannot wait to go back. Nothing what so ever |

Very good location. Good for shopping and sight seeing. Friendly Staff. OK breakfast. However standard of rooms didn't meet expectations. They were very much average with a small but nice bathroom. |

Stayed at The George Hotel a number of times. It is in a really good location close to centre, restaurants and bars. Breakfast excellent, rooms nice. Only 2 teabags and coffee in room. Notice telling you more available. Just a small niggle. Maybe a few more could be actually in room. |

Large, comfortable room; excellent service; ideally located for all of Edinburgh's central attractions and easily reached via the airport express coach. Extra dining room opened up for breakfast on Sunday morning, so very little waiting. Very minor things - e.g.minimal amount of tea, coffee, milk in the room - and no Scottish shortbread or other biscuits! Furnished very much for single business use (one arm chair, small table). |

The hotel was beautifully furnished, the staff were friendly, the breakfast excellent, as were the staff that served it and the staff that greeted us in the restaurant. We booked two rooms at the same time, but the receptionist wanted to put us on different floors. We said that this was not acceptable, so she went to some length to accomodate us. There was not enough choice of free channels on the tv, only 6. This let the hotel down. |

The location ; the entrance lobby is very attractive ; room was spotless Very disappointed in the room ...very small and "plain" for this type of hotel ; noise from disco went on until about 4am ...We spent time in cheaper hotels where the rooms were more luxurious |
