The Staff couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful than they were. Nothing seemed to be a problem. Rooms at the front suffer quite severe traffic noise and deliveries at 06.30 in the morning. Restaurant excellent though a bit expensive. |

The hotel was in a good location for visiting areas of interest and beauty. The room were clean and in good decorative order. An excellent power shower! We had one dinner in the hotel which was of good quality. A limited menu which would prove difficult if you were staying at the hotel for some days and wanted to eat in.The service at breakfast was very slow and the quality of some of the food particulary the bacon was poor. |

The superior bedroom gave more space and was comfortable and the lounge/bar area was an inviting place to sit and relax. The hotel was generally quiet with plenty of off-road parking although the description on the website suggested it was in a more rural location than it actually was I did not like the 'wardrobe' which was a curtain across shelves/hanging space - it meant the chamber maid had to open up and see all our clothes etc in order to give us clean coffee cups because that is where the kettle was and the plug for it. The reception staff were friendly but the dining room staff tended to be rather stand offish and dismissive, especially of me alone as I had to dine by myself one night. Disappointing short dinner menu - whilst the food was very good the menu was the same over the 3 days we stayed and we felt the choice was too limited for the type of establishment it tries to be. |

The George Hotel was in a lovely location and central to the areas and places we wanted to visit as well as being very comfortable and well appointed. We enjoyed our stay very much. Yes - the background music in the dining room was awful. Music should be 'middle of the road' or 'light classical' and not too loud and certainly not vocal. |

The room was very comfortable and seemed to have been refurbished recently. And the breakfast was excellent. The road was rather noisy - although there is nothing the hotel can do about that! Rooms at the back of the hotel would be reasonably quiet. |

We were made very welcome on arival and the room was clean with good facilities. The menu was great, the food was out of this world, and the staff were excellent. The amibience was relaxed and comfortable, we had a lovely time and would love to return if only for dinner. The staff left piles of bedding on the floor in the corridors, this was in anticipation of clients leaving but did not look very attractive and was a hazard. A minor point is the table staff did not open the wine at the table nor did they pour the wine for tasting, which was odd as this is a good hotel. |

Convenient location for walking in Peak District. The room was fairly quiet as it was at the back of the hotel. For the price I would expect a more comfortable bed. The cooked breakfast was good but we had a long wait. |
