The breakfast was good and the staff quite accommodating. Refunded 1 night without any problem. The location is pretty and is ideal travelling distance to the showground. The decor was very dated, the bathroom was dirty and it had a strange smell. This hotel needs a team of cleaners to clean and spruce it up.

Great food, welcoming, polite staff. Great food, beer and an excellent selection of whiskey. Charming small village. Accommodation smelt of dogs and had white dog hairs on the carpet. I could here birds or animals in the roof and every word next door said. I stayed in room 7. Room took 4hrs to get warm. Bedside lamp didn't work.

The only thing to like was the lager, the entrance hall to the rooms was damp and smelly, the room was tiny, cobwebs in the lamp shade, wallpaper hanging from the ceiling, mould in the bath room, tiny bath, plenty of hot water though, an mish mash of fabrics and colours, not sure about bed bugs but something nibbled me in the night., A few motley coat hanger dangling on a rail, wouldnt reccomend to anybody. There was nothing to like

If you like whiskey this is the place for a drink but don't stay! Very, very tired and dark - needs re-decorating and brighter light bulbs. Fire extinguishers marked as obsolete were in place to be used, others were out of date.

Attitude of some staff. On arrival we didnt receive any toiletries in the Room. I had to ask for them and two members of staff saw to that. On arrival we were shown to the room but no help was offered with the luggage. The room wasnt clean. There were hairs in the bath, two towels thrown in a cupboard under the bath and a smell of damp. The Bathroom Bin hadnt been emptied from the previous occupants. Later on in the evening I wanted a hot drink but was told it was too late, but alcohol was still being served and there were members of staff that could easily have made one. Being a Hotel guest it should have been on offer 24/7. At Breakfast I found a Hair and was given a new breakfast but didnt really want it, my hubby ate a lot of it, but upon being given it I was told it wasnt probably a hair but part of the egg. I found two hairs, one on the bacon and one on the egg. When checking out, the guy doing it, was also the chef that morning, and was quite rude. He didnt ask after our stay.

Good value for money. Warm welcolm. Breakfast good, freshly cooked to order. The room was getting a bit tired. The important things were satisfactory but generally in need of refurbishment.
