Staff were really really helpful, I have never experienced customer service in a hotel that good before. Room was of a very high standard, especially for the price, I have paid nearly £200 before for a room and it was nothing compared to this hotel.

Location was excellent for visiting relations, but will not stop here again due to teh problems encountered and the lack of interest from reception. We will have to make monthloy trips for the foreseeable future to see our relation but will not staty her again despite location. Advertised with a pool which was closed for refurbishment much to our annoyance. Food in restaurant very average but very expensive for what they were offering. Found a local restauarant which was excellent. Ladies stag night on the Saturday, the changing room for the entertainers was oppoiste out room, so very noisy made worse by an "incident" which went on until gone 2, Reception not interested in addresiing our concerns.

Good size executive room Heating in the room was very poor and the bathroom was clinical and cold. (Room 131) Only had breakfast on the first morning. It was a bit of a shambles, particularly the service. We ate out after that.

The bed on this stay was very good, we upgraded but cost us an extra £50 for this dont feel it was worth it, We booked a cot for the room and was not done. Reception staf are not very welcoming and just look down at you. Also we had dirty cup in the room that Housekeeping did not clean or put fresh one in, Also the bath room was dirty with the bath have lime scale lines round it and hair in it and round the bath room as a whole

They handled my complaint about the room fairly effectively and moved me to a better room, however they should have known the original room was not habitable. As above - the first room was far too warm due to the design of the heating system (no way to turn off the feed pipe running right round the room which was not boxed in and insulated.

Nice clean hotel The fire alarms are over sensitive which resulted in it going off at 4am. The reception staff could do with a customer service course

Good price for top facilities. The room was far too hot as it had boiling pipes running throughout the room (112). Strange noise (fan) that was eventually stopped when complained twice.

Staff were very happy on giving help and advice regarding getting to the city centre and information on the Great North Run. They also provided a Pasta Menu for the night prior to the Great North Run which was great and good value for money. My husband had the carvery and was really dissappointed that there wasnt much selection. The food he had was well cooked, but he said there was vey little selection of vegetables etc.

Did the job, pleased that I didn't pay full price though as it wasn't up to anything special. Not much character to the place. The breakfast is expensive for what you get. Watch out when you book and check that it is included in the room rate. Not many place to eat nearby, unless you want to go to Newcastle or Sunderland, or eat in the hotel.

Staff where nice. I didn't like the swimming pool and changing areas and my skin felt irrated after being in there. Booking through yourselves was great but I wouldn't pay there prices out right and food was over priced, smaller portions and smaller prices would have been better. The mattress was too soft and bad for my back and I didn't like it was two single beds put together, that is not a king size bed.

Excellent room nice and quiet. Restaurant prices are very high and do not reflect value for money. We now eat out when we stay att the hotel. Be careful of themed nights - can get very noisy.

The room was just what we wanted. Good lcd tv. Excellent shower. Minibar. The whole hotel including the room was very clean. Excellent location as it's almost in between Newcastle and Sunderland so it's easy to visit both during a weekend stay. Whetherspoon's 5 minutes drive away in Washington town centre is you're that way inclined. Free wi fi is a bonus for business and pleasure. Car park is massive so you won't struggle there. We didn't try the facilities or the food so can't comment on that Everything was good really. The only reason i'd give it 9/10 rather than 10/10 was that I thought a couple of the staff of reception could of smiled a bit more...no biggie though!

I stayed at this hotel due to a Concert I was attending at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland. The staff were extremely helpful and professional and assisted me with directions to the nearest metro station to get me and my friend into Sunderland upon arriving at the hotel. The hotel reception had also catered for the concert with leaflets of city maps, taxis to use and places to visit and eat. My only niggle was the comfort of my bed! The mattress had seen better days, extremely soft and was like sleeping on a hammock!!
