The bed clothes in our "non smoking" room smelt of smoke.
A good location, relatively secluded.
Lack of signage getting there!
relaxing atmosphere brilliant breakfast and excellent service
We stayed to participate in GNR 2014 , the staff were so helpful and friendly . Created a fact sheet on the run etc and ensured several pasta dishes on the menu . Fantastic ;))
The location was ideal.
We booked a kingsize but were given a very small double, we found a used condom in our room!!! Spoke to the manager they could not offer us another room as the hotel was fully booked for a wedding. The manager did not even offer to have our room re cleaned. We we not even offered breakfast as compensation disgusting we would have been better checking in to a scabby B&B in Newcastle.
Very friendly staff. Good ameneties
reception area was freezing
food, pool, sauna, staff
drink prices, bit of a scrum in the morning for breakfast
Location, size of rooms which were very clean, good friendly staff.
Group of noisy golfers staying there who made a lot of noise coming back to rooms late at night at different times
Room was comfortable and the location is quiet. We were there for a wedding and that was all very good. I suppose if you play golf, the golf course is right outside.
Very long corridors with endless fire doors which make it very tiresome to get around. Room was a bit dark. Bar and restaurant were quite expensive, and there are no other options within walking distance..
Rooms very nice and I enjoyed the swimming pool
I like everything
Good food and service
hard beds and poor spa facility
Excellent value and good food
Difference in levels throughout the hotel
ease of access from road network.
long corridors, unhelpful staff.
size of rooms cleanliness of rooms housekeeping staff were more pleasant and could not do enough for us.
staffs attitude nothing was how it should have been nothing arrived on time that had been booked as a suprise for my daughter on her wedding day, and the staff could not have cared less, she arrived the day before expecting her nails done to find that she had not been booked in to have the right nails done ,there attitude was tough ,one of the bridesmaids had to say that they wanted a taxi to take my daughter back to where we had just come from to have her nails done and to come back to hotel and for them to pay for taxi she also had massage booked in which she refused to have my daughter was in TEARS the day before her wedding and the staff could not have cared a jot.on the morning of her wedding she should have had champane and flowers delivered to her room for 9.30 they never arrived ,i had to go and complain and the groom had to ring up hotel to see where they were they arrived at 11,30 with no appoligies ,we were never even offered a free btl of wine for any inconvienience they had caused, and that was just the two days of the wedding,we had problems before that with the wedding coordinators attitude,it is a disgrace this hotel and if we could have left on the morning of the wedding i would have i would NEVER recomend this hotel to anyone.
The meal was lovely, the room was great and the staff were helpful.
Did not like the walk from the hotel to the function room, if it had been raining we would have all been soaked, a indoor connection would be good or a covered walk way. We also found the price of the drinks were rather high.
The photos were really deceptive the bed was in fact two singles pushed together which meant depending on where you slept the beds moved apart. The rooms were very basic. We went to the restaurant on the evening and despite there being 3 staff on and half the restaurant was empty we were told we had to wait as they had two large party's in. There was building work going on so the view from the window was awful this wasn't mentioned at the time of booking. If it had I wouldn't have booked as building work is not what you want on weekend break. The same again for breakfast and they were actually working this time. Not happy at all!
The reception staff were very warm and helpful
The swimming pool was dirty Changing rooms unclean Rooms were too hot
The bar area was ok
The room was very dark with just views of a full bank if trees
Food nice hotel nice
Disapointed jacuzzi broke n thsts ehy a booked it there
Nice and quiet bedroom even though a Saturday with weddings. Bqr comfortable with plenty of room.
When we arrived it turned out that our booking through booking.com had for some reason not come through from reservations to them. The new manager was really helpful and managed to accommodate us and also checked with us later that we were happy.
Lots of corridors and lost my way but this is a minor point.
Room and general outlay / grounds very good.
Having to adhere to the supper club menu. The fact that food items were missing- yorkshire pudding - being told sorry there's none left. If you want chips you cant have veg? Being told that my large glass of wine will have to be served in 2 small glasses as there wasn't any big ones! Being served a bottle of coke in a pint tumbler. No cups plates or tea at breakfast and having to wait 10 mins for replacements. Tea at breakfast being served in catering jugs - invest in proper tea machine. Having to wipe a table myself in lounge. The suits worn by some staff were restricctive an did not lend themselves to enabling them to do any hands on work - too concerned about getting stains on uniforms. Trying to sell a spa experience on a blackpool b&b budget.
good facilities excellent golf course food very good
they told us at reception breakfast was 10 pounds when we paid the bill it was 13.95 they refused to change we needed a voucher which we should have been giving on arrival will be writing to the manager for an explanation drinks also pricey its a shame about this issue because we are definetly coming back to this area for our golfing trip 8 players spending a lot of money.
Nice Gym People were helpful
