In the heart of Newcastle’s bustling center, this Premier Inn is located next to Eldon Square shopping center. Guests can relax in bright, modern rooms with king size beds.
Score from 433 reviews Very good
The hotel is just off highway A1(M), exit 64, less than 12 miles from Newcastle, Sunderland and Durham. It has free parking, a restaurant, a lounge bar and air-conditioned rooms.
Score from 169 reviews Good
Rooms too hot and no air con or ventilation. Cracked sink in bathroom. Restaurant food high priced and mediocre quality. Drinks seemed watered down.
Spa facilities very very basic. Didn't get clean robe. Have to walk through the gym to get into the pool where the wall is glass so everyone can see. Very very small pool. Nice hotel but wasn't worth the money.
Accommodation,service,staff and golf course.
The breakfast was delicious , rooms are clean & comfortable .
The reception staff were not very informative thats when they were there , the desk was mostly empty .We hardly saw any staff around the hotel . Our room seemed like miles away from all the facilities eg restaurant ,bar, reception etc lots of corridors & doors to walk through everyday became hardwork aspecially as i am pregnant . This hotel could do with more staff in the restaurant in a morning , one to seat people and two to serve .
Fantastic, stable, pretty high speed Wi-Fi connection.
Old room needs refurbishment
Chose this hotel as we were traveling in this area and the location was good for places we wanted to visit
The bar /lounge area seemed dark as it was an internal room with no outside window .... Lighting could have been better!
The facilities were good. Gym and pool. Food was tasty and staff friendly and helpful.
Location for the Great North Run. Extra little touches for the runners. Excellent friendly staff
Cost of breakfast.
SurroundingS peaceful and good breakfast
No signs to show way to reception Papers too late
spa/golf course (although I did not play golf. pleasant staff
Sat. p.m. dinner in the restaurant was absolutely abysmal. Told it was because it was the weekend and the usual menu was not available....guess the usual chef wasn't either?? Soup was incredibly salty and my son's contained a rubber band. The roast of the day (lamb) was very fatty; the Yorkshire pudding rubbery and obviously very old, and the gravy salty and very ordinary tasting. Extremely noisy neighbours - room party until 2.30a.m. Wrongly charged on the bill for drinks we did not order (subsequently sorted I hope)
The bed clothes in our "non smoking" room smelt of smoke.
A good location, relatively secluded.
Lack of signage getting there!
Large room and comfy beds excellent food on the dinner 2 dine for £36 offer. Good atmosphere in the bar
No towels in the spa area
relaxing atmosphere brilliant breakfast and excellent service
We stayed to participate in GNR 2014 , the staff were so helpful and friendly . Created a fact sheet on the run etc and ensured several pasta dishes on the menu . Fantastic ;))
Being issued with a Great North Run information pack on arrival
The shower was cold on the second evening. We were told the boiler had "kicked out". It was sorted out within half an hour
The location was ideal.
We booked a kingsize but were given a very small double, we found a used condom in our room!!! Spoke to the manager they could not offer us another room as the hotel was fully booked for a wedding. The manager did not even offer to have our room re cleaned. We we not even offered breakfast as compensation disgusting we would have been better checking in to a scabby B&B in Newcastle.
Very friendly staff. Good ameneties
reception area was freezing
food, pool, sauna, staff
drink prices, bit of a scrum in the morning for breakfast
Location, size of rooms which were very clean, good friendly staff.
Group of noisy golfers staying there who made a lot of noise coming back to rooms late at night at different times
Room was comfortable and the location is quiet. We were there for a wedding and that was all very good. I suppose if you play golf, the golf course is right outside.
Very long corridors with endless fire doors which make it very tiresome to get around. Room was a bit dark. Bar and restaurant were quite expensive, and there are no other options within walking distance..
Rooms very nice and I enjoyed the swimming pool
I like everything
Good food and service
hard beds and poor spa facility
Excellent value and good food
