Gervis Court Hotel38 Gervis Rd, BH1 3DH Bournemouth (Show map) Good, Score from 83 reviews“Very comfortable and clean.Near to centre of town.Friendly staff.”
John,
Cirencester
The Gervis Court is a typical Bournemouth hotel. It is also a Victorian home of great character, set in its own grounds. We have ample free forecourt parking and nestles amongst pine trees, only 2 minutes from the cliff top. Bournemouth Hotels. Over 100 years ago the Gervis Court was a typical family-run hotel in Bournemouth, originally called 'Leicester House'. On Sept 7th 1895 Lady Harriet Ponsonby and her maid plus Mrs General Faber and Mrs Morry were in residence. When Lady Ponsonby came there would have been only an odd carriage here and there; now you can park at the hotel, and enjoy the easy walk to town without parking problems. Close to the beach, pier and shops, bars and restaurants, the seafront, Bournemouth Pier, the center of town and Bournemouth International Centre, the hotel is quite literally only a short walk from everything Bournemouth has to offer. As one of the best hotels in Bournemouth, the Gervis Court prides itself on its well-maintained and presented gardens. Hotel Rooms: 13

Unfortunately our stay was cut short due to the fact that young drunk males were also staying on our floor!!! We left the hotel at 6pm to meet family and decided that we would not get a good nights sleep due to the yobs. We returned to the Gervis at about 10pm and decided that rather than fight the yobs we would return home. There is no reception so we left the keys in the room. Not a pleasant experience.

The bed was very comfortable It was unfortunate for us that there was a hen party in the hotel and whilst we do not object to anyone having some fun we do object to being woken at 3.30 am by a lot of noise and lack of consideration. Had this hotel not taken hen/stag parties we would definitely have used again.

I found the easy way we were allowed to 'come and go' very helpful. The attention of staff when required was good. I found the room --No. 8 -- rather small as my friend was a 6 foot plus man. Large fat people would have found the bathroom quite a squeeze. We would have liked a small table beside the bed for a place to put, watches/ glasses diary or book etc.

Room good. Bathroom good. Both a little small but functional. Room clean and breakfast ok. Good value for money. Cheaper hotels would be worse and facilities would be better in more expensive hotels but this hotel was fine. Plenty of off road parking which is a saving as it was only a short walk into town. Shower could have been better. Bedside tables would have been handy.

Location. Cold room, very cold toilet and the shower was extremely noisy. The mattress was cheap but the linen was clean. Felt for the money paid for the room it was overpriced.

It was close to town, very reasonably priced, easy to check in and out and a good breakfast. Room wasn't very warm and the shower was rather tepid.

Convenience to my appointments in Post Office Street during Monday / Tuesday although not unique in this position of accessability Breakfast not available until "from 08.15am" not mentioned on website, as a business traveller I needed to leave at 07.15am to meet an appointment in the town, obliged to forfeit the extra £10.00 paid. Not impressed. Premises was clean, tidy but a little tired, no staff on site after checked in by individual, not aware if owner or employee, only saw for 5 minutes. Web site stated last room available, clearly only 2 other occupants in hotel, so 15+ rooms still available

NIce clean room, I was a bit concerned when I read the reviews regarding toilets being on the small side, not so in my case the toilet was as big as the bedroom, wifi password is on the doors inside the hotel, I found my stay at the Gervis Court Hotel nice and quite Only Complaint would be the noise from the power shower

we enjoyed our stay at Gervis Court Hotel and liked that we were close to shops restaurants and bars and ofcourse the beach and pier were only a short walk away. It was the place me and my partner got engaged so will always be good in my eyes. The food was good and the staff were nice although rarely seen which was perfect by us and the freedom to come and go as we pleased was a bonus. All in all an enjoyable stay.

I did not like anything, The showers in the rooms did not work, we asked to be moved twice, but the next shower worked with a slow trickle off hot water. We could not wait for the 8.15 breakfast as we had to go to work. No alternative was offered or discount.
