The bed was very comfy and the place was handsome and stylish.
Didnt get breakfast. The automatic lights in the bathroom. No soaps or shmpoos etc.
Large bedroom with lovely view and comfortable bed, large bathroom with plenty of hot water, sitting room with lovely view and comfy chairs. We slept very well! Dinner good and breakfast very good. Waiting staff enthusiastic but under-trained. Other staff very pleasant and helpful. Grounds lovely.
Some ants in the bathroom which were very efficiently dealt with, however. Bathroom needed a facelift.
The grounds and the cottages
No room service for any hot food, ie full English breakfast or evening dinners if the guest chose to stay in their cottages - we had to order in from a local restaurant who delivered!
Lovely grounds; pleasant staff; delicious restaurant menu; just right for a one-night get-away treat!
Both dinner and breakfast we experienced pleasant but very slow service - a very large group were staying and the hotel really needed extra waiting staff to cope.
Good location. Public rooms very nice. Staff friendly
Allocated room not ready at 5.0pm. Upgrade room dreadfully decorated. Dirty windowsills dressing table mirror not adjustable. Everything was just 'off', Food did not all arrive at once. At breakfast the fresh fruit arrived after cereal was finished, the croissants arrived after toast had been made and eaten. Too few staff for number of guests. Reception unprepared at checkout.
The gardens External appearance of the hotel. Staff generally helpful but inexperienced, and not enough of them.
Public rooms rather cramped; 'reception' is a small desk in a hallway; bar service was slow and inefficient. Food at function slow to materialise and not good quality when it did. En suite bathroom - cramped, low pressure in shower (scalding or freezing), chip in bath, tired towels. Poor lighting level in our room. Cooked breakfast portions very small - a request for bacon and tomato was met by one small slice of bacon and half a tomato.
location staff friendly & helpful good food good service excellent grounds to wonder around
Very nice setting lovely grounds.
Coffee served cold on all occasions
The rooms and scenary
The staff (waiters and waitresses) were not very efficient. They got my starter wrong and my husbands food was getting cold as he had to wait for me. I think the service there was very slow and not efficient. Definitely not value for the money we spent.
I was there for a family wedding. The food and drinks were very good, as was the service. It all went like clockwork.
As the wedding was a very happy affair and everyone seemed pleased with the service provided I cannot find anything to complain about.
Cottage Room was old, poorly furnished, outdated and no facilities such as dressing table or mirror making it impossible for a female to get ready comfortably. Bed and sofa uncomfortable. Overpriced.
The size of the room The breakfast was good
The horrendous aircraft noise which was unbearable and spoilt our stay. The Wi-Fi was unusable. The bed was very uncomfortable and gave us backache. The room was too far from reception.
the room was spacious and nice
We we attending a wedding and we phoned up to ask if we could get access to the room before the check in time of 3pm in order to change and drop our bags (their reception does not have a storage room), but the receptionist was dismissive and not understanding of this request. When we arrived we were able to access room no problem - if only we had known!
Loved the warm friendliness of the staff and cosy feel of the hotel, beautiful grounds, staff could not have been more accommodating and made us feel welcome. Really enjoyed our meals there too. We had requested a picnic for early one morning and it was ready waiting for us. Very helpful and we would recommend whatever your reason for staying in Rusper. Book your meal early as the restaurant gets busy.
Unfortunately the wifi was unreliable so might not suit a business user or anyone needing internet access. The Star Inn advertises wifi too but this is not good either.
Lovely rooms and fast room service at a reasonable price.
Wifi not good
Superb wedding venue - breakfast to die for
Rooms - old, beds so old and uncomfortable and we had bed bug bites. Thin pillows. Bathrooms - dated and mouldy. Staff utterly uninterested when we complained.
The lady who was so helpful at serving breakfast and evening when I arrived in the night
The Price of the drinks where crazy!
Room size good. Teapot and tea and coffee plus toiletries good. Towels soft, bed large. Good seating in room.
Website info not accurate as states microwave and fridge in superior room and also iron and ironing board. None of these in room. Noise through walls and externally.Breakfast a shambles but was a wedding guest and had been a mix up.only 2 people got what they ordered.
Great place to visit despite being near Gatwick airport flight path very quite, the hotel room was very clean,
Unfortunately using the shower was very frustrating we had to Run the water for ages we gave up using it, and had to run baths. There was no notices to say that it will take time for the hot water to come through, not that great for £160 per night.
Service, dated rooms, rude Manager, no bar staff
The layout, accommodation and facilities, and especially the helpful friendly attitude of the staff.
No wi fi in room even after asking Only Xmas menu available i.e.no a'la carte Towel rail not working No towels in room on arrival Altogether disappointed
Lovely hotel, the room was very comfortable, well decorated and clean. I will certainly be staying there again.
