Excellent location for Exeter and the M5. Have stayed there many times and always been pleased with the service and the food. Nice grounds and good view from room.

I arrived just as the bar was closing, the receptionist could see I was a weary traveller and organised a well deserved pint of bitter for me to be waiting on the bar after I dropped the bag in the room, Quality! Thank you

I liked that staff made me welcome, were friendly, but not overly familiar; they asked me about my day, had good advice and recommendations about routes to where I wanted to visit as I'd not been back to Exeter for so long. They made my stay better than I expected as I'd not travelled alone before and the evening meals were really, really excellent.

To be honest I can't think of anything I did'nt like, not even a little bit.

The staff work hard to make you feel welcome and to respond to your needs. The breakfast had all the trimmings. Bathroom was clean and up to date.

The rooms and common areas all need upgrading. Paint, wallpaper, carpet, plaster--all could stand to be refreshed. The location is near the M5, so be prepared for background road noise (albeit not obtrusive).

The hotel was perfectly located being close to the M5 in breaking our journey down South and very close to the park and ride so we were able to easily explore Exeter. The staff were friendly and helpful making us feel very welcome and the food was excellent. Our room was spacious and the bed comfortable and overall we found Gypsy Hill a very enjoyable overnight stop and we would definitely return.

    Nothing.

Some excellent dishes on the dinner menu, and excellent breakfasts. Friendly staff and nice grounds. Good location for city, airport, and surrounding coast/countryside.

Unreliable wifi reception in one residential block. Reception desk sometimes chaotic, and manned by non-receptionists. Unwilling to adjust cost of extra meals when partner admitted to hospital and therefore unable to take prepaid breakfasts. Shame - spoilt an otherwise pleasant stay.

My daughter had her wedding reception there done 11 years ago to her first husband. In my opinion little has changed. The Gypsy Hill Hotel requires considerable updating. Very old fashioned.

No remote control for the TV. The very dreary decor.

The location and friendliness of the staff was superb. I was a lone traveller so had my evening meal in the restaurant. The food was lovely and the staff were very pleasant. I was happy to sit and watch the bunnies hopping around the garden whilst eating my meal.

Although clean and comfortable, the hotel was a little tired and had obviously seen some more glamorous days. I would happily go back again.
