The staff are warm, friendly and welcoming; nothing is a problem for them. Sandra was a star, realising that I drank Earl Grey tea she made sure I had some in my room, a personnal touch I will not forget. Don't like hotplate breakfast food, preferred the waitress service and food cooked to order.

Food was of a good standard and good value, It is close to the m5 motorway and yet is set in quiet grounds. Staff were always available but not intrusive. I felt the hotel was good value for money. There was also plenty of parking, although the hotel was not full at the time of my visit. Easy to access wifi. My room would have benefited with better sound insulation, and some of the floor boards made a noise.

Good venue for the family party, buffet was also good. I do not think the bain marie is a good way to keep food hot and breakfast was tasty food spoilt because it most definitely was not 37 degrees and above!!!! We were in room 37 and a bedside lamp would be a useful addition as the light switches were across the room. I also gave up on waiting for the shower to heat!!

The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the room was warm and clean and the breakfast facilities were great. I only have one negative point and that was the shower, it was quite dated and trickled out but that would not put me off staying again.

the room was comfortable. It had been snowing during my stay and I found that the room was warm. The bar area looked a bit tired, as did some of the other areas in the hotel.

I liked the comfort of the room and beds. We were impressed by the customer service of all the staff although our key didn't work on the last morning and we had to go to reception for them to adjust it - there was no explanation given as to why it didn't work. The breakfast was good and freshly made. The curtains in the room did not hang properly but I mentioned this as we left. Also they were rather poor quality and did not shut out the light from the spotlight on the tree directly outside the room. It was nice having a comfortable settee in the room to watch tv but it was a bit dirty and also so big that it covered the entire radiator. Perhaps a smaller modern settee would be better and enable the radiator to circulate more heat.

I was arranging a funeral, Needed friend to talk, eat etc, everyone efficient and helpful also friendly. I would recommend hotel for this alone! Special thanks to Sally on reception - a real good advertisement for the hotel. We were in the dining room and a working group drowned out the dining room forcing us to retreat to the bar. In view of the main dining room not occupied and the main bar (facing courtyard) empty we felt a lack of planning or consideration took place . This is the only complaint but the person we were entertaining, arranges workshops and would think twice before coming to the hotel. A shame.!

The staff were obliging and very helpful when I complained. The food was good and the main house was clean and presentable. The room initially offered was nothing like the room shown on the website. I found hair in the bath, there was mould on the bathroom walls and the general decoration of the room was poor. The tv picture was the size of a letterbox.

Very large room with lots of space. Comfortable - had everything we needed but looked a bit tired. Liked the wifi and plenty of parking too The shower curtain didn't stop a lot of water from the shower landing on the floor - obviously not the first people to have the problem as the tiles had lifted as a result. Eating breakfast at 8 - 8:30 was perhaps not the best time to eat as the traditional English Breakfast was suffering by then - e.g. scrambled egg with crusted surface.

Willingness of the staff to help get directions for my onward journey. Property needs a little TLC particularly the corridors to the bedrooms. Parsimonious with the heat in bedroom 15.

We were delighted with our stay at Gipsy Hill Hotel, as the room was very large, with a full-size lounge/couch in it and a large flat-screen television, as well as free, automatic wifi. Also, the bathroom was just that and not a shower-room only. The service was excellent, the staff were friendly and helpful, and we definitely had very good value for money (unlike a hotel we stayed at recently where we had to pay extra for wifi, extra for car-parking, and extra for breakfast).
