The location Coffee and the room
Noise Tv not working Personnel very cold Not a single smile!!!!!
Room was clean, staff friendly & helpful
Room was very noisy with traffic outside, bathroom still needed up dating (bath panel broken). Dining room still in need of updating & very disappointed that you had to go to the bar to order your meal(no water/waiter service), hence we didn't see anyone asking for any desert, we had the special which was very nice but would have been much nicer if a dish of vegetables were served with it (felt very much like & old peoples home).
We overheard the staff talking about us behind our backs...they should have waited until we were completely up the stairs before saying something. Additionally, the service was poor due to the fact that they were severely understaffed...one person was doing the job of three people. The lock in our room got stuck the day - for a second we thought we were locked in however after 5 mins of banging on the door and lock, it came loose and we got out. Unfortunately due to the poor unhelpful treatment of the staff from our prior 2 experiences we didn't tell them that we were almost locked in due to the fear of further mistreatment.
Location. Great shower.
Very soft bed, fell out if lying off center or sat on the edge of the bed ! Very very small TV in room. Couldn't see TV as pointing way too high up the wall, couldn't move / re-position the TV Abrupt / not at all happy bar staff and reception staff, must have had a very bad day. Service with a smile has not reached this hotel ! Dissapointing / basic / bland food.
Wish we could have stayed longer and tried the food- it looked delicious.
Very nice breakfast and good warm shower.
Staff not very professional and not very smart.
Position of hotel The receptionist was so lovely and helpful
The dinner we had was appalling for the money. The fish was like cardboard really dry! The man behind the bar was grumpy!
Corridor and carpets shabby Door to reception in poor condition No hot water in shower at 7.00am - unable to shower before leaving for Holyhead Ferry. When told to receptionist - no apology
Dirty carpet, Suspect bed linen not changed from previous occupants!!!
This was our second honeymoon and was even better than we remembered 34years ago! The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable...everything was clean and fresh and being in Snowdonia how could the views fail? Very close to the great little trains of Wales as well as the amazingly "strange" but wonderful, "Ugly House" with afternoon teas! we were made to feel very welcome...many thanks!
Perhaps a few more vegetarian options in the dining room would have been nice.
Excellent value for money clean and comfy - hotel is a little tired and needs a lick of paint in places. We ate in the restaraunt in the evening and had a full english breakfast in the morning and enjoyed both meals. Staff are pleasant and helpful. Bedding and towels were spotless and the rooms smelt clean.
Lovely breakfasts and food in their cafe. Very impressed with the hotel overall.
Spotlessly clean, good sized double room.
Very poor sized single room with poor fitting door so light from the hall a problem. Also poor sound insulation so a lot of noise from the hall.
Location is great
Uncomfy beds Room a bit shabby Food not great
Good location facilities were good it had a lift and car park .
We was not told they lock up at midnight . So when we arrived back after an evening out at 12.30 am we were locked out . We tried ringing reception but it went to answer phone . We could see and hear the phone at reception. But I suspect there was nobody there. GLAN ABER is supposed to be a three star hotel and should have 24 hour reception. God forbid if anyone had been taken ill or there was a fire. If it had not been for our other friends in a nearby bunkhouse we would have had to sleep under the stars. The morning after the manager said there was something wrong with the phone it should have gone through to the night porter . I dont think there was one . Obviously we did not wont to stop there any longer . But the manager agreed to let us use our room to get cleaned up after a rough night. . . THE SHOWER DID NOT WORK . We strongly recommend you steer clear of this place .
Good location, nice rooms, good shower & breakfast. Most staff were excellent.
The barman seemed to be in the wrong job; unfriendly, unhelpful & became a negative talking point between three unconnected groups.
Gave us a very nice room, This was my second time in the same hotel. Really nice place and everything was perfect. Thank you.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar was busy but we had no trouble ordering drinks etc . The evening meal was very good . In summary a great place to stay.
Room was good , but understandably the view onto an untidy neighbouring garden a bit disappointing.
Hotel was clean and well presented, we had evening meal and breakfast which were of good quality and value for money. Staff that we saw were pleasant and I would return again
The staff, location, comfort and style of hotel.
They did accommodate a request for cheese on toast for breakfast and the dining room was very pleasant, quite modern and airy. Good modern shower room
THe "chef's special" fish, chips & mushy peas, was poor quality frozen fish, more outer than fish and frozen peas. I thought the B & B rate was expensive considering how tired the hotel was behind the main facade
It felt like 'going home' at the end of the day. Very comfortable and welcoming and the staff were outstandingly friendly and helpful. We will stay here again when in Betws-y-coed.
Restaurant meals at night could be better. There is room for improvement. Pasta meals for example are easy to prepare for any cook/chef & please most people.
Location excellent. Car parking sn advantage. Food good.
The room needed a bit off attention to detail.I.e the shades on the lamps were ripped. Different size bulbs used in the light fittings. Also think an option of room choice with breakfast included should be looked at.
Good Bar and Breakfast room
The first two rooms we tried were in desperate need of refurbishment the third was acceptable but nothing special for the money. Food was poor. All over priced.
Staff were friendly, nice location, enjoyed our meals. Good value for money
