Score from 490 reviews Very good
It is clean and located in a quite place and there is M&S food shop next to it.
From my experience they rang the fire alarm on Monday morning without previous notice which was not nice at all. As well as this the reception is not standing behind the reception table all the time, so you have to wait sometime to be noticed, even if you call them from your room.
Location, informality & parking.
Poor WiFi signal in room.
A bit far from central city. But good location if you need to go to hospital gartnavel
Clean, comfortable, good facilities and good (free) wifi!
Staff seemed rushed, particularly at check out in the morning but they were polite and helpful. I also had workmen start painting my room door with pain at 08:00 in the morning without any explanation as to what was happening.
Everything. Specios bed, excellent wifi, quite sleep
Location was ideal for our purpose. Facilities suited us. Reception, bar and restaurant were attractive. Staff pleasant and helpful.
Downie was too heavy but we didn't find an option to reduce TOG value. Cracks in tiles on floor of bathroom - a construction fault.
It is very good value
Unfortunately the TV was not quite right (room117) but we we were not overly bothered. However ou might like to know for future guests.
Easy for the city good parking Comfortable
Would like more milk for drinks- the containers are so small
Breakfast Comfy bed Clean room
Staff were abit cold Problem with key card
The breakfast on Sunday morning was well below the usual standard that is usually on offer. The plates were cold and the food on display was poor. The music from the Christmas parties was rather loud .OnSaturday the volume was lowered at midnight to a reasonable standard but onSunday night it was loud until the party finished. However this mishap will not stop us using the Hotel in the future as normally everything done by the Staff and the hotel is first class.
Free parking Room facilities Shower was most powerful I have experienced in a hotel to date
Breakfast included in the price would have been good
Excellent evening meal with very attentive staff
Had later breakfast so some of food had obviously been lying about too long
The friendliness and the informality of the Hotel.
The breakfast on Sunday morning was not up to its usual standard. The plates were cold and the presentation was poor. The music from the Christmas parties was rather disturbing. However on the Saturday evening the music volume was lowered at midnight but on Sunday evening it wae rather loud until the party finished.
Excellent service;staff could not have been more helpful.great choice of breakfast,WiFi very good.only five minute walk from hyndland train station.two miles from Glasgow city centre.
Location of hotel and its facilities were excellent for my shopping trip and having its own car park was a bonus.
Some cleanliness issues in the bedroom area. Marks on wall which tainted my overall impression. Which could have easily been resolved with a touch up of paint.
Nice and clean.
The shower in our room wouldn't go off . Someone came up and we thought it was off but it wasn't and it ran all nite. No fried eggs for breakfast and the toast should be freshly made to order and not just lyinging there for xge to which it just crumbled on the plate .
Evening meal. Attentiveness of staff.
There were no snacks or biscuits with tea and coffee, either in the room or at the bar.
There's no denying there is a large body of water adjacent to the hotel and with our room overlooking said expanse of H2O we felt the romanticism of the view was enhanced. However, as a marketing tactic guests may not be enticed to stay if left to conjure up visions of an urban pond. Even if the relevant authorities are not minded to adopt my suggestion for "Kelvin Loch" I would still recommend this hotel as a well run, good value budget hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Also, aside from the visual delights of the Pond, we felt the hotel was well situate for a visit to the west end of Glasgow with Byers Road only a 15 minute walk away. We will stay there again.
By no means a complaint but on the Saturday night we stayed there was a disco/function taking place on the ground floor (not something unheard of at this time of year) and we were able to enjoy the sounds on the 3rd floor. Anyone desperate for an early night would have needed to ensure they had a room at the far end of the hotel. Wasn't a problem for us as the function ended at midnight but it could be worth checking the position when booking and request a room to suit your needs.
Travelling by public transport, close to Great Western Road bus stops both to travel north or to go into the centre of Glasgow Breakfast time - stays open until 11 am. Good selection of breakfast fayre for varying tastes
With thin walls you can hear people in next rooms. Not sign-posted, easy access, by foot.
Staff lovely and all facilities are great, perfect place for central events.
Rooms abit hot in temperature for me even when turn heater off but that's just me.
very friendly professional staff & happy to accomodate our young family 's need to eat in rlaxed environment
Was very impressed with the staff. Very chatty, friendly and helpful when asked anything. Bed was very comfy and the room was warm as it was cold outside.
The ability to control the temperature of the bedroom. The breakfasts were wholesome and tasty.
Room nicely refurbished since last visit some years ago. Comfortable bed - good night's sleep! Very decent breakfast.
