Very good,
Score from 814 reviews
“ The price was incredibly good value given the quality of the room. The buffet breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day. Location is great, close to lots of bars/restaurants in Glasgows West End and five minute walk from a train station to go into the city centre. ”

Very pleasant hotel, breakfast was lovely. It was just a little bit too far out of the centre for us but other than that, got a taxi into the centre very reasonable.

the food was very good and the staff in the restaurant were attentive and friendly I was stayed for two nights. I was out all day and when I returned at 8pm my room had not been serviced despite my hanging the service notice on the door in the early morning. It was eventually dealt with but I asked for fresh towels straight away but these did not appear. I did find others in the room which I was able to use but the reception staff who said these would be forthcoming did not know that.

Location. Parking First night twin beds were both very uncomfortable. Also very noisy guests who woke us up after midnight, but understand it is difficult for the hotel to control that. We were also given the wrong room first night and walked in on someone else's room. Thank goodness they won't there - could have been extremely embarrassing!

The breakfast was very good. The noise from roudy patrons late at night and into the early hours of the morning. We could smell cigarette smoke in the hallways.

Nicely decorated interior, not what I expected from the outside view of the building Room doors bang, waking you up when people come back from the bar late at night and getting up early in the morning. Rooms not very sound proof, can hear toilets flushing, showers running, chatting in corridors and rooms.

the hotel was friendly, spotlessly clean, very comfortable. we had dinner in the hotel and i had fish which was off and had to be sent back. I was offered another meal - which was tasteless, along with a complimentary glass of wine. We mistakenly booked room only and they issue you with a breakfast voucher. We hadnt realised that this was the case and when we went for breakfast we were refused and we were not on their list. However eventually someone came to our room and explained. However, the breakfast in the morning was stone cold, the only thing that was warm was the coffee. By this time we had had enough and left.

Comfortable room with large double bed (beds zipped together) and a bath as well as shower. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was good and plentiful. There is pretty pond closeby where you could sit and relax, watching the ducks and swans,or have a stroll. On our second day there was a Christening party at the hotel. In our room later on in the evening we heard a lot of noise, i.e. screaming children running about on the car park below. There were lots of them aged from about 4 to 14, and were attending the Christening party. They were blowing noisy streamers or vuvuzellars and it was unbearable after a while, it literally went on for hours, even after 11pm when we were trying to get to sleep as we were having an early start next morning. I had to ring Reception, asking if anything could be done about the noise.Th lady said someone would get on to it but it still carried on for a while. I dont know if staff did say anything to the parents. Perhaps they didnt want to offend the people who had paid to have the function there..but other guests should be considered too. Somone we talked to at Breakfast said they wouldnt want to say anything to these people because they were black! I would hope that wasn't a reason because that would be too silly. We did like the hotel very much and would like to stay again, but the second night was definitely spoilt. I was a bit disappointed because I couldn't find anything suitable to eat on the evening meal menu, so had to eat out. There were things like chicken wings and spaghetti bolognese and lamb..I cannot eat any of these. I would have liked to see chicken breast or half chicken, grilled salmon or even the humble jacket potato..I realise they cannot cater for everyones' tastes but there was not one thing I could eat.

staff very nice and helpfull No authority in bar at night. My wife and I returned around midnight wanted to have a night cap before bed.Did not enjoy the experience in the bar as the language from some of the guests was loud and embarassing very intimidating the staff ignored this and let it carry on.I feel that this lets your hotel down as your staff should have put a stop to this as it makes other guests uncomfortable.

I found staying at the Pond something that I will recommend to y friends and look to book for a future conference in the Glasgow area. It was very strange not to be given a plate when having high tea. This did spoil and great treat. When we spoke about how would rate the high tea out of 10 we scored it 7 (we usually have high tea in London ( Patisseries etc.) or the south coast and they rate 5/6. The reason not getting a full 10 was the lack of the plate. We are very hard to please!
