staff very friendly and informative. Situation of hostel very convenient for university.
no comfy seating in the room, but the lounge was very well furnished
The staff were faultless. Nothing was too much trouble, and they were without exception enthusiastic, friendly and knowledgable.
every t h i ng
no lift in the building
stairs. in the middle of the park, not very safe at night.
Glasgow youth hostel has excellent location with overview of Kelvin Park. It is walking distance from Glasgow University. The rooms are clean and neat. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They strive to make your stay comfortable and memorable.
Clean Towels free and clean Tea and coffee in the rooms Kind people ready to help you Free maps of the city Car parking for 4 pounds in front of the hostel Very Nice part of the city, near a park, but out of the centre
Paid wi fi only and only in the common room Out of the city centre (but the area is very beatiful all the same) Room a little bit cold
Big rooms Nice staff Reception open 24 hours
Paid Wifi that does not work Not hangers in the shower Two outlets for a 4 beds room
All the steps when carrying a suitcase
Ensuite facilities Brochures. helpful staff, though they are not the agents who can change things but they do listen.
Noise, especially dining room. Suggest pads on doors and chair feet. Internet. Suggest free as part of service. Did pay but intermittent connection. Bunks. Top bunk difficult to access as ladder is vertical - angled is more logical, Rungs are too narrow for adult foot - need broader tread. Width of ladder inappriate for adult figure. Need a light for individual reading. Shower - pull cord requires many attempts to work.
Affordable accommodation overlooking the beautiful Kelvingrove Park.
A steep walk home, but the views were thoroughly worth it - and only £5 in a taxi from the city centre : )
Staff really helpful Good location Good facilities for catering for yourself Heard the breakfast was good!
Beds were very uncomfortable (either very old or very cheap mattresses) you could feel the springs. Fortunately it was hot so you could sleep on top of the duvets which cushioned the lumpiness of the mattress....
The hostel was clean and beds were comfortable. Facilities provided such as laundry machines was a plus! Towels and linens were supplied. The location was nice because it wasn't too loud (being removed from downtown a little bit) but still had easy access to downtown via train. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly.
No free wifi, and when I paid the 1 pound for an hour of wifi, the connection was terrible.
the food location staff
the beds toilet and shower facilities in our room
Lack of elevators
- nice rooms - very helpful and friendly staff - awesome view
I am writing this on behalf of 4 young female relatives from USA who were visiting me and they seemed to be very pleased with their stay of seven days. Thank you
They didn't mention anything that bothered them.
Private room at such a good price. And location. Good service.
No soap or wash cloth. Nowhere to hang a towel in the shower room. Beds were not comfortable. Not enough accessible power outlets.
The rooms are tidy and have individual shower.
A little bit far from the metro station and city center.
Lot of "bath"rooms, not a lot of showers.
Was my 3rd.visit & enjoyed it. As per the above
None that I could think of
Man at the reception was a little bit harsh
Excellent staff great rooms
Location great nice big building
Bit grubby, bunk beds difficult to get in and out of, very worn and bathroom very dated, windows didn't't open and very stuffy. Horrid carpet and really rather grim.
Great Staff very helpful and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. I have been visiting the uk over the years and have used this hostel before and been very happy. The breakfast is good . Love having cheese ham and a roll added into the breakfast.
There needs to be a Lift or more accom on the ground floor for people whom cant cope with the stairs. I understand that with heritage listed buildings this may not be possible. How about a lift for luggage. I did see the door of what would have been a butlers pantry lift near the toilets just down from the Tv room . This could be opened back up and converted into a luggage lift without damaging the structure as it already is part of the building. Maybe this could be looked into.
