The convenience of the situation, especially as we were going to the Playhouse theatre next door. I was taken aback by the doorman addressing me by my first name ! The restaurant staff were very slow to take away our used plates etc. at breakfast. It was not busy. |

Its nearness to the Playhouse theatre and to the main shopping area. It was stark in its amenities, the breakfast was poor for a 5 star hotel. A glorified expensive bed and breakfast. |

It was wonderful to be in an ancient city, but have a hotel room with all the modern conveniences someone could want. The design is state of the art. The staff is extremely helpful. The beds are comfortable and the room was a nice size with a desk area and sitting/dining area cordoned off from the sleeping area. Compared to other hotels in Edinburgh, it was luxurious. |

Very stylish and extremely comfortable with exceptional treatment from all the staff. Little touches like classical music on as entered room for the first time. Bed covers turned down and chocolates on pillows along with curtains drawn. All added to the enjoyment of our stay. |

I loved our room and the roof terrace. The bathroom was lovely too. We appreciated the complimentary Glenfiddich and the bottle of bubbly left was a really nice touch as we celebrated my husbands 40th birthday. At the end of the night when the show at the Playhouse finished we enjoyed the fact that the hotel was right next door. |

The Hotel is perfectly situated for all the joys of Edinburgh. If you manage to get a room which overlooks the gardens and Carlton Hill then you will really appreciate the views on offer from this hotel. Staff were attentive and professional at all times. Can't be faulted in my view. Rooms were spot on and very boutique in style. Just book it! |

the hotel is beautifully decorated and comfortable with spacious rooms. central location for the city center the heating/airconditioning control in our room did not function properly and it was either far too hot or freezing cold. also the plumbing was very noisy and sounded like an aeroplane flush every time you ran water |

We were made very welcome by the staff, and when we explained we had experienced car trouble on our journey there, William the Door Man went out of his way to find a local garage able to help us.. We would recommend this Hotel to anyone planning a visit to Edinburgh to see a show as it is next door to the Theatre . Best night sleep ever in a Hotel due to the very comfortable bed. |
